I have given presentations in classrooms, cafeterias, gyms, auditoriums, and even parks. But on this day I was asked to talk about my books and make jokes about butts in a place I never would have expected to be speaking from in a million years.

I'm afraid of the Blob. There, I said it. I'm not ashamed. In fact, I don't know why everyone isn't afraid of the Blob. After all, it's a humongous, pink, gelatinous ball of goo that eats everything. Anyway, there was one author visit I was invited to where I almost crossed path with my greatest fear.

Words count. Words have meaning. But they only mean something when everyone in the room is aware of the meaning. On this occasion, there was one individual in the room that wasn't made aware of the awesome power of specific word. Me! And it almost put me in the hospital.

In my author visit career I have done almost two thousand presentations. In city schools, rural schools, gyms, cafeterias, libraries, parks even once on the altar of a church. And I have met, literally, ten thousand students a few of which crossed my path twice. But on this occasion, I met a student that had come a looong way to see me again. Enjoy!

Everybody has to start somewhere. For me, it started here NERVOUSLY! The joke is that it wasn't even my visit and I wasn't even supposed to be on stage. Yet, there I was all shiver' and shakin'. Enjoy.
