Damn it all, here we go again.
I try, try, and try again, and yet, despite it all, I have somehow managed to make so much more shit for the internet that you get to reap the benefits - a small, but meaningful outcome for my inability to stay away from the cesspool that envelops the information superhighway.
For the unfamiliar, I've released two music packs thus far full of loops, bops, jams, ballads, ditties, and several hours of candid recordings of my neighbors arguing over where one of them is installing a new retaining wall that you can use, free of charge, in your games, videos, school projects, or ominous cobbled-together videos you send the gas company when they've crossed the line.
This third entry is by and large no different, featuring 30 looping tracks that span a number of genres, "feels," and many of which maintain an old-school video game aesthetic from the various websites, competitions, and strangers who compelled me to make them.
Now armed with so much music to with as you please, may you bravely trespass upon that awful domain - you know, the internet - with something delightful blowing out your eardrums. Enjoy! Or don't. Who gives a shit?

Poolside Beverage (MSX & SCC+)
มุมมอง 1421 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Downtempo crunchy grooves by the water. Fizzy drink full of ice advised. / * / * / * / Made via Furnace for the MSX and SCC chip combo, but considering a higher-quality version on the Namco System 2 (OPM C140). Enjoy! / * / * / * / (Second try to reinstate the lost oscilloscope layer. Womp.)
Still Like the First Time (OPL2)
มุมมอง 22วันที่ผ่านมา
Always like me a good bit-crushed sample channel, but sometimes you've got to make do with FM drums - in this case, two-channel, waveform-limited FM drums. Still thought it came together nicely as a theme for a town that never really changes; just a pleasant stop on your way to fight a force of evil the magnitude of entire galaxies.
Don't Tomorrow When There's Still Today! (WaveTracker)
มุมมอง 12214 วันที่ผ่านมา
An unusually major key-driven tune made on WaveTracker for a @BattleoftheBitscompo that's introduced a bunch of new formats. Don't wait to do good things or make changes; you can do it now! Happy with how it turned out.
Got to Good Part of Ocean, Then We Sank (YM2608 Original)
มุมมอง 354 หลายเดือนก่อน
an O(and-a-half)HB for @BattleoftheBits, during which laundry awaited me and the song therefore had to end rather sourly. made in furnace using the PC-98 setup with just a bit of updating to at least finish the idea. big ol' panned soft 5th pad patches doing lots of the heavy lifting.
Pick Your Fighter! (YM2612 + More)
มุมมอง 394 หลายเดือนก่อน
katana, dino cannon, or the dude who's made up of, like, 97% domestic light beer? only you can decide! / * / * / * / a tune that was fun, but didn't have a lot more places to go. sometimes it's good to just let em breathe as they are! made in furnace.
Dancin' Shoes (Sega Genesis Original - SoR 1 Patches)
มุมมอง 1534 หลายเดือนก่อน
one-hour comp where we made a genesis track using only SoR 1 patches and samples, including free use of the square channels; version here has some additions (one voice sample and a turnaround section), but the patches and the main groove are the same!
Don't Clown (or Sit Your @$$ Down) [Sega Genesis GEMS Original]
มุมมอง 1165 หลายเดือนก่อน
A @BattleoftheBits submission for the GEMS Jams comp! For the unfamiliar, GEMS was a music program designed by Sega of America to help mostly western composers, many of whom weren't well-versed with the software and driver end of things, make music for the Sega. The stock patches aren't bad when used carefully; most people using the program, though, didn't have the time or energy to modify and ...
Maggie's Harvest OST (Pixel Game Jam Entry)
มุมมอง 725 หลายเดือนก่อน
Maggie's Harvest is a farm defense game that integrates RPG narrative elements, made by our team of three in a little over a week for the Pixel Game Jam. The soundtrack uses old-school FM emulation (mostly the PC-98 setup) to capture the relaxed, homey feel in a retro style! Fantastic art my made by Kayla Deer: deerkayla Check the game out here: kaylachu23.itch.io/maggies-harvest...
And There Was No Dawn (Bad Ending Jam)
มุมมอง 205 หลายเดือนก่อน
another moody swing groove tune for @BattleoftheBits' spring tracks competition, featuring this time the fm-heavy instrumentation with some added reverb and modern mixing tools. there was a whole (removed) section where i've recorded myself in a self-help group for making the same kind of music lol, but what is there to say? this type of vibe speaks to me. anyway, enjoy! haggar sure isn't...

Chill Item Shop (Sega Genesis Original)
มุมมอง 997 หลายเดือนก่อน
Going waaaaaaay back - at least regarding our history here. 2021 is the original project file made via Deflemask. One of those moments where you enjoy your music, but realize you'll probably never make a track like that again. Pleasant, but also a touch poignant. Whatever the case, this track is from our RPG-driven album "Smile: Delightful RPG Tunes for Sad, Miserable Fucks Like You and Me," av...

I really dig this style of project!!!!! Neat work dude, very inspiring too <3
awesome
nice!!!
this is hella underated, i love the sound of this track! straight fire
Thanks! Definitely an unusual approach from the channel's usual stuff, but definitely fun to make. Appreciate it!
Sweet tune! I enjoyed the Romhack Primal Rage secret character lol Also, the world's most epic dunk, holy smokes surely the defending team cannot go on playing after this
Lol indeed an epic dunk. There used to be a street basketball franchise in the genesis / snes era named after Charles barkley and then somebody made an absurdly silly (and fun) rpg based loosely on it (Barkley Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden) - you should check it out!
Yo!
Ha I loved that sample the second I heard it. I think it's supposed to be "Go!" from Robocop vs. Terminator, but it's so beat up, it just sounds like a blurted "yo."
@@haberchuck-music Haha, that's amazing! Man, I used to play the crud outta that game!
@@FacemeltingsolosMusic nice! Any good?
@@haberchuck-music It's a blast!
bravo!!
Your music has such a distinct sound, I kinda love it.
You're doing amazing :D
Thanks friend!
Heck yeah it is! 🌴
Ha thanks friend -- always appreciate your enthusiasm!
very pleasant
thanks friend!
Sweet & Mad, Nice work indeed =)
DAAAAAAMMMMMNNNNN MAN LIKE LAVA REEF MEETS CD MEETS RISTAR MEETS SHINOBI 3, what is this insane track you’ve concocted holy cow
Man this channel really is “shining in the darkness”
😆 well played
I would totally buy from your shop!
Plenty of wares to offer (and thanks for listening)!
I love the "metal hitting metal" noise. And a great track, too!
Thank you! Yeah it's definitely a favored sample over here lol. Kind of a trope at this point, but it feels right!
Extremely well done! I'd totally picture that being used in Hard Corps ^^ You've done amazing!
Thank you kindly!

I LOVE FM SYNTHESIS RAHHHHHHH
US TOO -- WE APPRECIATE THE ENTHUSIASM
Awesome as always!💪
Thanks friend as always -- hppe all is well on your end!
nice! really great vibe, I could listen to this all day
Thanks friend!
this is great! really nice composition. what does 'dual pcm' mean? is this some kind of expansion chip so you can get more channels on the megadrive?
Long comment warning lol: so it's actually software mixing (first used by EA?) that lets you use the FM6 / PCM channel as a double channel (for PCM only). It got used a lot to add, like, really crunchy instrumentation and such, but also great to fill out your percussion. Deflemask doesn't use it, though. Furnace does and I can confirm it plays on real hardware! Worth noting whatever you do to one channel, though, applies to both, be it volume control or panning. As such, you also can't deactivate the CH6 PCM and use the secondary channel at the same time.
@@haberchuck-musicwow, that sounds really cool. Is that similar to what they did on the Skitchin' or Toy Story soundtracks? (where it sounds like there are lots of PCM tracks playing at the same time) I figured that must be using some sort of software mixing? I've been doing a simple workaround in Deflemask to get a similar effect, by "pre mixing" the sounds and rendering to separate .wav files. (for example, mixing kick+crash together into a .wav file and importing that into deflemask). But this takes up more memory, so it only works to a limited extent..
@@bleepintunes yes! Jeff Van Dyck (composer of Skitchin and number of EA sports games) used it frequently to great success. There's a feature on him on a channel called GST that I recommend!
@@haberchuck-musiccool! I will need to check this out. How do you like the Furnace tracker overall? I haven't tried using it myself, only heard about it.
@@bleepintunes yep, it's my go-to program for making music at this point. It basically works all the same as Defle, but has more chips to emulate (more accurately as well, to be fair), and it's got a solid sample editor for a chiptune tracker. I use defle from time to time for its mobile (ipad) capabilities, but primarily use furnace. Definitely recommend it!
fucking rules. ur stuff just getting better. u prob know it already but check out Pauldron if u havent....soule on the snes typa way #100
nice chill track
Thanks! Our channel has got plenty more where that came from so feel free to check them out
Found this on my recommended. Nice song, it sounds really cool and personally helped me chill out a bit after an argument
Glad to hear it helped - thanks for sharing! Definitely good to decompress after something like that
This is pretty incredible. Spotify when?
Why thank you! Streaming will be a minute: have a collab album coming out in the next couple weeks and then it might get squeezed into the next release. Not sure yet, but definitely will be posted at some point!
Sounds really cool
idk but I love u because this Good work bro!
Beautiful.
Excellent stuff on this one. Makes me think of games where the protagonist vanquishes evil then has a long, peaceful walk home
Thanks man! Definitely could see the story wrapping up in text during the first portion and staff roll starting when the beat kicks in
10/10 Track and Description 👏👏
great work - og tracks with style can be so hard with these sounds, but you've pulled it off here in oodles! sounds frickin awesome!
Thanks man! From a fellow opn2-er, it's a badge of honor
How do you put songs on this piano visualizer?
It's from a program called MD Player, using a screen capture of the playback. It can only handle .vgm files only, though.
@@haberchuck-music thanks
Love the feel of this one. Fantastic job! 👍
Thank you kindly! Always means a lot to hear
Hats off to you dude, this is so good. Im gonna browse your channel for more tunes that catch my attention.
Always means a lot to hear this -- thanks for checking it out and hope you find more to enjoy!
Nice and groovy tune, fellow chiptunist. Found your channel after YT finally stopped suggesting movies for me to watch on my own videos.
Thank you kindly! Yeah, the suggestions can be kinda weak ha. I'll be sure to check your stuff as well!
@@haberchuck-music Sweet, thanks, man!
Loving this one! Gives me Mutant League Hockey/Football vibes!
Yeeeeees, classic game that I played a ton as a kid. Brian Schmidt (who did the music) always did love those heavy FM guitars.
This is SO good. It gives off the perfect beach house vibes, you nailed it!

Wow, this was a lot of fun to listen to. I'm glad I came across this.
