I picked a hiding spot that I have not used before to verify he is using his nose. Search time was less than 35 seconds.

I wanted to see if he could use his scent skills to locate something that I misplaced….

I made it harder for him to locate the scented flowers. Once he was released to search, the video is realtime. Yes, he found all four of them that quickly.

I scented the flower bouquets and put them in non-obvious places so that Sevi would need to smell them to find them. I released him to search and this video shows his efforts. The retrieval has not been edited, it reflects how long it took him to locate and retrieve 4 bouquets.

While Sevi was out of sight, I put his flower bouquets in different places. They were in sight, but he would need to look for them. I let him back in with the command “bring me flowers” and he found them, retrieved them, offered them to me, one at a time.

Such an amazing breed! This is my second. My first was an amazing partner. I lost him to old age and missed having a little buddy so I bought this one about a year ago. He has come a long way with his training!

Maxwell Smart! Do I need to say more? I knew he wasn't Bichonfull breed! Long stringy hair that almost every groomer shaves!! We do certainly have a Cotton that I actually got at the Humane Society's parking lot!!FREE TO BEST 99 EVER!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the name! My first was adopted from a shelter...luckily the people who relinquished him documented what he was. Smartest dog I ever knew...until i got this pup (only got him after I lost the first to old age). The breed is amazing! We have started into Agility lessons and he adores it. Give Max a pat from me! @@andratoczko5184 I was so lost when I lost the original Sevi (This one is named after him and is registered as Sevi, the Second!). The first Sevi was so much a part of my life that things felt empty after he was gone. At first, I was thinking that no pup could ever fill his shoes but this fellow has so much personality (and is such an athlete) that I need not have worried. This pup is so active that he is helping me ‘hold back the years’ by keeping me active. Sounds like Maxwell is a wonderful buddy!

Never heard this breed
Cotons are fairly rare. I had not heard of the breed until I adopted my first. Very social, very trainable and adapt to all kinds of new adventures. Happy go lucky personality.

Thanks so much for the kind words. We have temporarily tabled Obedience as he completed his final Trick Dog title. We'll be back to this very soon. As a sidebar, I've found some amazing videos of heelwork-to-music from Britain and they are showing me some new ways to school obedience while making it fun for a young pup.
