Same plot as another Charlie Chan's movie, where the killer turns out to be the wife of another man who was murdered. But, nonetheless, such detective movies aren't made anymore.

It seems like the plot of this movie is very similar to the Black Camel...what's up with this?An actress who plans marriage gets bad news from a psychic reading and gets murdered.That actress was in love long ago and killed a man who refused tg get divorced and marry her.Charlie Chan finds the killer,in both movies, by a metal piece of jewelry embedded in the killer's shoe.

Charlie Chan was based on a real life police detective by the name of chang apana. Apana was as tough as nails in real life.

I do believe that "Charlie Chan in Rio" and "The Black Camel" are pretty much the same movie plot wise.
