My Quest to Build the Ultimate YZ250X! - How I set up my Yamaha YZ250x for HARD ENDURO!!
This is my 5th YZ250X and for this build I went all out to build a hard enduro beast. Is it going to be as competitive as an 300cc Austrian bike? Doubtful. Is it going to be fun as heck, cheap to maintain and reliable as death and taxes? You better believe it!
.
One major note: Lots of you will notice I don't have the Fisch Moto e-start on my bike. To be honest, after a few years of testing the product I was kinda burnt out from the process and couldn't be bothered to install it on this bike. I really enjoyed having the e-start, but was rushed for time this spring to get my bike built and running. That being said, the Fisch option is really great, and if you want the button it's definitely the e-start to get!

This trail is called Loco Yoyo, mostly because it's a constant up and down. It's also pretty unique in that it's primarily sand, with a good mix of hard enduro style elements sprinkled in. Definitely a lot of fun!! Unfortunately my GoPro gave me an SD card corruption error about 15 minutes into my lap, so I had to restart about 1/4 into my lap. As always, if you like this kind of content, or yo...

Every year the snow melts, but the trails are muddy and icy. So we head to the sand pits, the first chance to get off studs and put some time on the bike. Unfortunately it's often a rude wake up call because sand isn't very friendly if you're just trying to cruise around... there's a certain level of intensity you need to stay upright. My new pipe with only a few hours on it would have looked like a T-rex chewed on it. BTW, rumor is Yamaha coming out with e-start.

Great quick tips! as you mention these i'm thinking of another one that i recently thought of. One coaching tip for any type of skill that i think is critical is "how you know you're doing it right". Or at least, "how you know you're not doing it completely wrong". And for hill climbs, i think one of those things is when you're first learning, it helps to start on smaller and smooth hill climbs and make sure you can fully balance yourself front to back while going up the hill with only one hadn on the bars. If you need both hands you know you're not balancing properly on the bike and you need to work on your hinging at the hips to forward lean / throttle balance. Forward/ back balance on the bike is so critical, if you don't learn properly you'll never be able to be efficient on the bike IMO. And once you learn it, hill climbs become easier, less tiring, and safer. Safer to do while standing but it also applies to sitting. If you're sitting you'll notice you can't get it right without flexing your ab muscles.

I love your riding man. I got four minutes in and feel like the vid is too brief. Not because I think 30 minutes for a set up vid is too short. I would like to see your lever angles, how far in they are, where your finger contacts the lever, clutch freeplay, clutch engagement point, knuckle angle for each lever, bar width, bar sweep, rise, bar roll, clamp locations, reach from the pegs, height from the pegs, guard angles, grip width and button locations. Those are all things I highly scrutinized on my bikes. Maybe I should start a U toob channel.
