Decided to wrap my exhaust pipes to see if it helped the radiated heat felt. Also, due to OEM windshield developing some cracks, I opted to upgrade to Clearview XXL Windshield with vent.

Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager Trunk Relocation

The current touring cruiser version of Kawasaki’s Vulcan Voyager has a cramped cockpit pit area for two grown adults. I looked at several ways on how to move the trunk back 3 inches. This is what I deemed to be the easiest method of relocating the trunk. Good luck.

    Good job! You are almost saying money when you DIY😁. Tire changes are not that bad once you do it. And yes, shops will charge you $200-$400 labor per tire and with the addition of buying the tires. Take them off yourself and have Cycle Gear mount the rim of the tire of $50, times 2 that's a $100 bucks.

    After the second software update from Ivan, I really have noticed smoother throttle responses. The Ivan upgrade is totally worth it. Sadly the cover maker went out of business and no one has taken over the business. But the name is CycleShell. They were in Boulder Colorado. Try www.cycleshell.com maybe someone has rejuvenated that business.

    • @vulkanvoyager
      @vulkanvoyager 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For me the GW1800 proved to be less than what I expected in terms of ride quality and user friendly operation, i.e. GPS was locked when riding. Annoying. So, with that being said the GW1800 is powerful, fast and complex with lots and lots of delicate electronics that make the magic happen. And to work on one is always complicated and very time consuming. For me the Voyager has been a refreshing bike, not over loaded with electronic gadgets that will one day fail and sideline the bike. All the required maintenance is a breeze and easily done. And during my recent trip of 2600 miles with lots of rain and a great amount of riding in traffic and the mountains I found the Voyager to be very comfortable and smooth. Granted, my bike is almost stock with the exceptions of the seat, horn, ecu and stereo speakers. Also, working on changing over to LED headlights and driving lights. More on that later.

    The mods you made will probably hurt the resale value of the bike, but you don’t seem like the guy who worries about that too much, so more power to you. Get it the way you like it.

    • @vulkanvoyager
      @vulkanvoyager ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t buy this bike or for that matter any motorcycle I’ve ever owned with resale value as a thing. I have always been about what I liked and if it didn’t fit me then I worked at making it fit me. The whole motorcycle world seems to have become nothing more than everyone wants exactly what the next guy is riding, all bikes now tend to look and sound the same. Not for me, I go my own way. Also, I don’t plan on selling this bike any time soon. It’s almost paid for. As for a resale value and all that I really don’t think motorcycles are a great investment tool. That’s why I invest in the stock market, made way more money doing that.
