Depends on the age of plants, type of plants, temperatures. It’s every 3 weeks right now because we are in a heat wave and everything is pretty full grown. That’s my sign to eat up and rotate in some young plants!

The cost to run power to a Tower Garden system will depend on the cost per kilowatt hour in your area. The water pump included in your Tower Garden kit is rated at 0.43 amps, 23 watts @ 120 VAC/60 Hz. Assuming you run your pump 288 minutes daily (3 minutes on, 12 minutes off, all day and night), your power company charges 12 cents per kilowatt hour. That would cost you roughly $5.76 monthly (288 minutes = 4.8 hours X .12 per hour). The LED grow lights kit is rated at 1 amp, 125 watts, 120 VAC/60 Hz. It won't spread in the tower. I don't worry about it. Some systems that aren't made well allow light to penetrate in the system and that can be a problem. With Tower gardens they are made so light can't penetrate them. They can get a little algae on the outside if they haven't been cleaned all season but I just wipe or hose that off.

I don't know of any aside from converting these to aquaponics, which is totally doable, and using organic materials. I just stock a year + supply of nutrients....that could extend 2 years because you can dose down if needed. You could bulk buy all the minerals and formulate them yourself but you would still be dependent on buying those.

I don’t. I just eat them all in season. If I have a ton of excess I’ll make eggplant “bacon” jerky.

I would get a flex for a greenhouse. I’m growing kale, collards, endive, mustards, bok choys, Chinese cabbage, Napa cabbage, cilantro, celery, lettuce, turnips, baby cauliflower, arugula, beets, kohlrabi and peas. @@antman8588 depends on your temperatures. I grow in my garage with a heat and keep it at around 65 in the winter. You need 60 plus temps for things to grow. You can also put tank heaters in the tanks to keep the water warmer.

I would say 4 for year-round. If you set up 3 with the trellis system I use you will be swimming in all things cucumbers and things needed to juice in season but in the winter if you grow indoors things grow a bit slower. A Family Garden kit with a Home garden unit would get you there. I add a baby greens extension kit to my Home unit and that increases my greens a lot. I have 32 turnips growing on one right now. Turnip greens are a superfood and the bulb added to juice is so healthy!! stan.store/Theaeroponictowerchannel

Beans grow amazing! I have a whole tower set up right now. With Vine Borers they lay eggs near the roots and I don't think the eggs can survive since our roots are wet in a mineral solution. I have never had a single vine borer on my towers so that is my theory for why. Tomatoes do amazing. Yes. I'll toss it in my garden beds.

You just add extensions and you need to get a high capacity pump. Usually we only go 1 extension high if we don't have a auto feeding farm set up as the water will run out really quick the higher you go but I am building one with 2 extensions right now for low water drinking plants. It will be 36 high. I may go 44 high which is 3 extensions. You can also add a baby greens extension for smaller greens and get 52 that way. I don't worry about it. I live in a temperate rainforest and it hasn't ever been an issue. You can buy rain boxes for the timer....I meant to do that but never did and so far it hasn't been an issue.

You need 1 plug for every 2 towers. The timers that come with a Tower have two outlets. So I use one extension cord, and outside 3 way adaptor and then plug in 3 timers to the adaptor which powers 6 towers total.
