    It’s very strange to me how little of the time this concept of parallel chords voicings is talked about. The few things ive been able to find discuss it using different terms. I think most people starting out understand inversions, but most probably dont know about this concept because it’s not a common thing talked about for some reason. It’s definitely in all kinds of music.

      Absolutely agree - to be honest I haven't found much about it, it was taught to me by my uni teacher who was a master of gospel! Parallel voicings is the only term I could think of to describe it :) Cheers for watching :)

    Very interesting dear maestro and thank you. Your videos are so didactical.But in case I have F7 Dm7 Bflat7 Gm7 C7 and F7 what kind of progression do I consider?

    • @pianoproductivitypeace
      @pianoproductivitypeace 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Cheers for this, I'm sort of thinking you may be looking at a bluesish kinda progression as your I - IV - V are dominant 7s ( F7 - Bb7 - C7) depending on what sound you want to create you can also experiment by making the Dm7 and Gm7 dominant 7s also? Blues as a genre leaves the rules that we are discussing in this video - the video is about DIATONIC HARMONY - that is harmony derived from a major scale There are many different ways to arrange these chords but the standard 12 bar formula might look like this | F7 | Bb7 | F7 | F7 | | Bb7 | Bb7 | F7 | Dm7 | | Gm7 | C7 | F7 | C7 | If making a melody in your piece you could try F major pentatonic mixed with F blues for variety: F maj pentatonic (F G (Ab) A C D) F blues (F Ab Bb B C Eb) Hope this helps :)

    Impressive content, Piano Productivity Peace. Looking forward to your next upload! I tapped the thumbs up icon on your video. Keep up the fantastic work. The breakdown of the 1-4-5 chord progressions is incredibly helpful. How do you suggest approaching the transition between major and minor keys when composing songs?

    • @pianoproductivitypeace
      @pianoproductivitypeace หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks so much for the feedback :) Essentially you can base your song around a Major key or a Minor key... If in Major your chords are I - IV - V and vi - ii - iii If in minor your chords are i - iv - v/V and III - VI - VII The chords should all link together nicely as they come from the same scale - but just try different combinations and see what you like - a lot of people vibe with the I-V-vi-IV progression for example. I'll be following up eventually with a lesson that explains that more, and starts identifying all 6 chords in one sequence, but currently I'm working on a rhythm lesson. Thanks for your words and encouragement, I am super keen to make more content where possible around my full-time job. Cheers!

    • @pianoproductivitypeace
      @pianoproductivitypeace หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely - although if the song overall is in a Major key the minor chords will be best labelled vi, ii and iii If the song is in a minor key then the Major chords would be labelled as III, VI and VII I hope that makes sense!

    What is the difference between soloing G major scale or D major scale over this?

    • @pianoproductivitypeace
      @pianoproductivitypeace หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, in short there is only one note difference - C/C# If you use the G major scale over E, it is essentially the E Aeolian scale (or natural minor) The 6th note C sounds 'darker' and more serious If you play C# instead (using D major scale/E Dorian) the 6th note sounds 'brighter' and more fun Hope this makes sense, cheers for the question!
