It's an MTH Steve with grey and green wires going to the smoke fan motor. There are another pair of wires to the smoke unit heating element but I didn't note the colors.

Bonjour Rene, I really missed the smoke when it packed up. Fan assist motor is the size of a little finger nail with the impeller on the motor shaft.... flap me sideways! I did turn the sound down to reasonable levels, it can shake the glass in the shed otherwise lol. Hope you are well Rene, the Jouef model looks a fine project.....listening out.....Mimi.

@@hotdogpilot6319 Gid Late moaning Mimi, I am not that experienced with smoke units, yours sounds like a well made one if the fan is on the motor shaft. Good to see you putting your skills to work repairing it. I have my off days but doing ok, just need to find projects to keep busy. The smoke fan driver motor gave up Collin... the size of a shirt button. Luckily it had numbers printed on the motor and I ordered some from Shenzen.

I thought it was sayonara to the smoke unit, but I thought...what the hell, have a bash. Stoked it worked out.

That was my cunning plan Andrew... the dark shows the smoke better....strange..

Hi Martin, the GS4 was a straight repair as it was made with smoke unit. The Hornby Blackmore Vale was the donor for my effort with after market smoke unit by ESU. I chose that model because there's lots of room inside the model to shoe horn it in and keep it cool.
