It could maybe be a worn engine Mount, carbon build up on the o2 sensor or bad spark plugs causing the vibration? Best to take it to a local mechanic to check it over. They can pin point the issue for you and let you know cost to fix he issue

@@EcoboostOwen i managed to remove the valve. It was the valve. Bought a replacement. Lets see how it goes. Wanted to see the before and after video cause I wanted to see ifnthe knocking noise was the wastegate valve hitting.....

@@luislauching the knocking noise could be a loose/broken heat shield. Give them a check.

@@rekcufrehtoM-olleH don’t think it will, I’ve had the Pumaspeed Stage 2 for over a year and the cars spot on. I’ll be getting the wet belt done within the next year or so and the car is serviced regularly.

This is a aftermarket Kompact dual port Bov, by Turbosmart, vent to atmosphere. The Oem Ford valve is made from flimsy plastic.

What’s up with it?

@EcoboostOwen this no power issue is back man 😩 car sounds absolutely crappy again, it was OK for a few a gave it some the other day and it backfired crazy and has been fucked ever since, no boost or anything, in third foot flat to the ground and it's barley moving

@@Gito77645 could be a split/faulty boost hose…check all your hoses are ok. Is the Wastegate operating properly? Could be the vacuum pump, as it’s something to do with the power of the engine. Have you done the vacuum pump valve fix? You getting any DTC codes? All worth checking.

@EcoboostOwen I've done the vacuum pump fix, and the car was great for a few weeks, then my plastic one came which I swapped out still OK, yesterday I proper booted it and it backfired like crazy and went all weird again, the hose I'm taking off tomorrow to see but I've also noticed my airtec filter has gone out of shape somehow 🤷‍♂️ is no longer a proper cone

@@Gito77645 you’ll have to try and put your cone filter back into shape. That’s strange doing that 🤔

The code P0420 indicates that the catalytic converter on bank one is not breaking down the exhaust gases enough to meet emission standards. I had this and replaced the O2 sensor before the catalyst and I never got the fault code back again. Concerning constantly tipping up your coolant, you could be losing it possibly in a number of areas. I did a video on where you can get a coolant leak when I replaced my thermostat housing. Which at the time was leaking coolant. Check it out, might give you afew ideas where to look.

@@EcoboostOwen which oxygen sensor did you replace? The blue or the black one? I.e the top or bottom one?

@David-z7s7m I replaced the top one, there’s one before. There’s one before and after the catalytic converter.

@@EcoboostOwen see I’m so confused. For the p0420 I’ve seen people have said to change the pre cat (top) sensor and some people saying to change the post cat (bottom) sensor!!

@@David-z7s7m the code indicates the bank 1 o2 sensor which is the sensor before the catalyst.

On the Mk3 Focus 1.0 ecoboost it’s called the vacuum pump valve.

I change mine once a year as I do around 7k miles annually. I change mine around April each year.

@@StarfishTaxisStAndrews I did this process three times once on each ignition coil, my ecu is perfectly fine and no fault codes. The car runs spot on.

@@EcoboostOwen I have a problem now with , when I rev up my equast system sounds like an exhaust leak. But have doubled checked and it is not. Rattling sound from the turbocharger on cold start. Hope not wastegate issues

@ashveersanilal1699 a rattle from the turbo on cold start could well be a wastegate issue, it might be wastegate flapper valve worn and loose over time. If so you can’t just replace this valve you have to get a whole turbo. When you rev the car and on de acceleration do you hear the rattle noise? Have you checked all heat shields under the bonnet, then can rattle when loose also?

@@EcoboostOwen yes its definitely that flap. Will need to be reconditioned soon. There is no power loss, car still performs fine. Actuator also

@ashveersanilal1699 maybe it’s only just started, yeah cheapest option is to get it reconditioned.

@@Bin_Truck_Fan87 your belts probably never been changed, mine hasn’t either. You should look to change your wet belt around 60-70k miles. Cost around £900-£1000 to do. Stuttering going up hill, check the vacuum pump valve. May have fallen apart internally

@@EcoboostOwen Hi Owen. That’s perfectly fine. I’m going to change the oil mid November before December ready for Christmas. I’m using the original ford oil. Also, with the vacuum pump valve I checked it a while back and it was broken, however I did glue it back together but I will check again.

My evap switching solenoid was bad and caused a slight surge when accelerating after a deceleration. Cost me 70.00 usd.

@Bin_Truck_Fan87 your probably best doing the in line non return valve fix instead of checking and replacing the vacuum pump valve. They always seem to fail.

@@EcoboostOwenyeah mine is a 2016 automatic, it goes through all the gears fine, it’s just when I’m at 30mph going uphill since I got a black box, it starts to stutter or struggle. Apart from that it drives spot on so maybe it could be the vacuum pump valve?

To be honest I never check unless the car isn’t running right. It’s a noisy engine the 1.0 ecoboost anyway, sounds more like a diesel. I think the phone camera picks the sound up more aswell.

Hey up mate I had my car serviced at ford they used the same oil it says 9n my receipt they used 5 litres of castrol oil same as your video, would I need any more for is 5 litres the correct amount as I see you have 2 bottles there . Thanks again.

@@EcoboostOwen the Haynes is a general book for the 12 thu 18. I wanted the mk3.5 spefic book. I'll see what ford offers.

Probably why it was in the garage at the time 😂. Not my car, It was at my local mechanics when I was getting my mot done.

Not too sure on cost, if your car is a naturally aspirated engine then you’d have to look into/research fitting a turbo kit to your car.

Even though it said it was for the mk3 focus 1.0 ecoboost when I changed gears quickly the gear linkage would come off the ball joint on the short shifter. It was catching on the moving arm, It left me unable to use any gears which is dangerous. With this one the ball joint sits higher up so it doesn’t catch on the moving arm anymore.

I’m good thanks, when I’ve looked it up it states the Manual transmission fluid fill capacity. 0.4 gal (1.67L) Filling the transmission oil of the 6-speed B6 transmission requires the following procedure: 1: Fill the transmission until the level is flush with the filler plug. This requires 2,17 Litres of oil. 2: Drain 0,5 Litres of oil from the transmission to obtain the correct oil level . Which brings the amount of oil inside the transmission to 1,67 Litres. As an alternative you can fully drain the transmission (make sure that all oil is drained) and just fill 1,67 of oil.

Howsit Owen, hope you great. Have you done the wet belt change on your ecoboost engine . Mines is due on my fiesta next year. Aside from all belts need replacing is there any other thing needs to be done?

@ashveersanilal1699 No not done mine yet, only done 54,600 miles. Should do the belt really between 60-70k miles. Apart from the wet belt I upgraded the coolant hoses as the pre facelift coolant degas hose fractures due to heat and you lose all your coolant. Also just keep the car well maintained/seeviced. You can run a good fuel system cleaner in your petrol tank every 4,000 miles to keep the engine free of carbon build up and running tip top.

Yeah they did a good job fabricating my performance turbo back exhaust. Especially the sound I wanted, which was a mid sport note. Sounds spot on.

Not sure about the Mk4 1.0 ecoboost, but I’d have thought if you’ve removed the restrictive standard airbox and replaced it with an Airtec induction kit you should be getting more induction noise. I’ve also upgraded all my intake hoses and turbo hard pipe. The standard pipes restrict intake ,turbo and induction sound to. Upgrading these pipes gave me more induction noise etc.

It’s a feature in the cars hidden menu anyway. Doesn’t matter if it’s standard or a Stage 1. I’ve put in the video description how to turn it on 👍🏻

Yes, you can alter the throttle response with it. Makes the car more fun to drive. Wouldn’t take it off now.

@Gito77645 I can only go off my experience of having it installed. Before I got mine I saw some videos of people moaning about having it on their car and others saying it’s good. But since I installed it on my car I’ve had no issues just a vast improvement in my throttle response. I’ve had it on my car for around 10 months.

@@Gito77645 I think it would do, just make sure the jubilee clip is tight.

@EcoboostOwen it don't fit mine the stock pipe is too small its way to loose and feel uncomfortable with just tightening the clamp to make it fit

@Gito77645 I fitted mine when I had the Airtec Stage 2 intercooler installed. The Airtec intercooler kit comes with 90 degree pipes to join the hoses. Could you not measure the internal diameter of the stock intercooler and buy something like in the link to connect them siliconehoseuk.co.uk/products/aluminium-90-degree-elbow?variant=42855986757863

@@Gito77645 www.airtecmotorsport.com/product/airtec-focus-mk3-1-0-stage-2-intercooler/ the pipe work and aluminium 90 degree elbows have a lot wider diameter for better flow. When you swap your standard intercooler for this Stage 2 one it’s a much bigger intercooler. The standard one is tiny.
