A Little More Drone Practice 2nd Take
Still learning about the DJI Mini 4K and the DJI Fly app on my older Android phone. Still getting tripped up a little bit when the drone is facing me - that I need to do inputs based on the drone's perspective, i.e., left is right, etc. - it's obviously reversed!!
Just need many more hours of flying time and doing more "scripted" flights instead of random.
Even was surprised by the first flight, which included the ash tree I 'crashed' in on the second day of flying (!) that I didn't think I had recorded because I had left the miniSD card in my computer! Little did I know it was actually recording on my phone.
BTW - just a little disclaimer here. I once had a commenter mention that I really should have known more about the app before attempting to fly. Well, I agree. So I went to the beginner's videos available from DJI and the one that I believe talks about the DJI Fly app has been saying "Content Unavailable" so I was a bit up the creek and had to figure things out by the school of hard knocks.
This video - Top image is drone, bottom left is from Cannon DSLR and bottom right plus inro and outro - Panasonic HC-X2000 camcorder, using Rode Wireless Pro lav mic on right channel and Rode NTG4+ shotgun mic on camcorder left channel.
Synchronized video sources from the first and second flights separately then copied out the "ash tree" section from the first flight video into the second.
Always trying to learn new and more editing things as I seek to grow in video production.
Thanks for coming along!

Non Flying Drone Video
มุมมอง 6414 วันที่ผ่านมา
Ok - so I'm just having a little fun with the definitions of "drone video" on a TH-cam channel. Does it make a difference if the drone is NOT flying - but is instead a hand-held, gimbal stabilized camera? At the same time that I'm trying to understand being able to use my drone "recreationally" for my channel, I will stay within the basic rules outlined in the TRUST certification. That being sa...

Hi there folks. If you're new to my channel, you may notice a whole lot of gardening videos, videos of working around the property and lately - my first experiments with flying my first drone. After a busy year working in the garden - I'm finding it hard to think of making videos of other content! But it WILL be coming along at some point. For now - a quick - less than 5 min flight because I wa...

Next day - trash pickup day. Yard cart is last in the day, in the afternoon, so I went back to the buttercup project on the west side of the garden. Today, I added a few moments of drone video - helping me think about and learn new and better ways of incorporating video from the drone, even in gardening videos! And yes - that's mud. You'll see the text message in the video!! :-) Thank you for c...
Early December Garden Weeding with Drone - Monday

Well folks, it's my 5th day flying my DJI Mini 4K drone (still in 1080p!) and adding some high-angle perspective shots of the area in the yard I plan on working in today. Please be patient with me as I try to learn the best way to incorporate drone shots into my work, since I can't run a camera (or a drone!) and work at the same time - unless a tripod or "hover" are used!! Probably makes for ex...
DJI Mini 4K Drone - Third Flight Day

Good day folks! Welcome to my series on getting my start in drone flying. This is the third day of flying the drone and hopefully shows a progression of competence happening!! Many of the questions I had in the first few days have been answered in through a combination of watching videos/tutorials on the DJI website as well as from content found here on TH-cam as well. At some point - I may do ...
DJI Mini 4K Drone - Second Flight Day

Your video hilarious with Charlie and the wifey hehehe love it 😂😅❤😊
<sigh> It's another adventurous day at our place!! Charlie already getting bored with being inside so much due to the weather, can mage him a bit feisty!! Our perpetual 2 year old!! He's brought more than a few smiles into our lives! Yep, need to feature Charlie some more. Thanks for the comment 😃!
I like Charlie!😍❤
We love our Charlie too!! I hope to include him in more videos this year. There are a few, three or four Adventures with Charlie videos on the channel! Thanks for your comment - it made us smile!
Did you ever secure the base with any measure to protect from wind and blowing away? I’m following your videos, and we have wind where I live. My plan is to use 1/2”x10” L anchors and concrete on side base boards. Would you recommend putting the anchors toward inside of the side base boards so I could possibly tie the green house base boards into the side base boards with anchors and nut?
Such a great point. We've only attached our greenhouse to the 4 x 4 posts that made up the base. The prevailing winds typically are from the north or south depending on the season, and the door faces south. This allows our greenhouse to present the narrow side to the wind. Second, the fence on the north is only about 20 feet away and it plus the big tree on the north provide some protection from the wind. Lastly, the shed and house to the west offer more protection. I would not discourage ANY anchoring you wish to do. Your ideas are quite sound. My goal here was to explain the circumstances that lead to our approach. We're glad our videos are helping and I really appreciate your comment and question. Best of luck to you on your build.
Hello Martin, How are the studies going for the, (Part 109)? A fellow youtuber, Idaho quadcapter has a video out about California fire fighting plane hits a Drone. The Drone was in a TFR. He explained about why's to get the trust and maybe the part 107. Some congress members want to ban all drones. Along with DJI drones. Because of people like that don't know. Flying in a place they should not be in Again, TH-cam Idaho Quadcopter. Hope that you are still flying, I have been trying been too windy for the drone, just going through battery usage for a few minutes of flight.
Yes sir - I am still slowly going through preparations for Part 107. I've seen the videos about the "hardest part" being the section charts - so I'm really digging into the "Aeronautical Chart User's Guide". It is mind-numbing at times - but I really want to KNOW this stuff. I've always wanted to understand section charts anyway - so that's a plus and a motivator! I've "learned" a great deal but really want to internalize it, not just "exposed" to it, you know?! One thing I learned from news coverage, the TRUST certification and studying for Part 107 is you DON'T FLY IN DISASTER AREAS! And in all cases, stay clear of manned aircraft. So - nope - I'm certainly no where near being an "expert" at this stuff but some of it doesn't take much to follow the rules - and common sense. I'm taking a bit of a break from flying just now - only because the weather isn't very conducive and quite frankly - there's not that much to look at!! However, I will still be practicing making the drone do what I want. Improving on making more "cinematic" camera movements etc., so when the circumstances are right - I can make good images - while flying safely. Take care, and "fly safe!"
@martinleif2872 Sounds great, I have downloaded it from the FAA website, "Remote Pilot Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Study Guide." It's free, everything on the past 107 test. The other free download from Aviation weather was the METAR key code. Again, free. You can find under METAR codes pdf. Some one was saying read chapter 10 in the study guide. They said it has in the test using the RCM? so, chapter 10 is a read. Have a good day.
Hi Martin, I bought my husband the same drone for Christmas, we have been learning from you videos, I love to see the area you live, what part of the USA are you in, we are in 🇬🇧 so the weather has not been favourable for him to get much flying practice done, enjoying watching you.
What a nice comment Audrey! We are both starting the adventure of flying camera drones. Although I don't make any claims that my videos are definitive "how to" videos, it's great to know you are getting something from them. That makes me super happy 😄! We are located on the north west coast of the US, in Washington State, about 30 miles north of Seattle. There is much to learn and I've received some excellent guidance/ suggestions from other comments here as well as other YT videos. As I'm learning to say, "Blue skies!!"
You seem so proud of your mini :)))
Well, I guess that's an accurate observation!! It's fun to learn yet another way of controlling a camera to try to make the images that help tell a story!
@martinleif2872 well hope this doesn't sound offensive, but it's kinda cute lol
Totally not offended!! As I'm at the very beginning of my adventure in the drone world, most are far more substantial than my cute little Mini 4K!! Having fun and learning to be safe and within regulations.
Just bought a mini 3 😁
Nice!! I hope you get to do all the things you got it for. My little Mini 4K is, at least in my mind, rapidly becoming my "first" drone. We'll see what the future holds.
@@martinleif2872l think now that I know I love it il probably get the mini 4 with the battery charger. I only have 1 batter just now and it sucks 😂❤
Am going to go somewhere today have have a wee practice ❤
I’ve just started flying drones in a the last few months myself. The all the rules and regulations feel a little overwhelming at times, but the enjoyment I get from a dusk or dawn flight makes it worth it.
I'm looking forward to getting some much more cinematic shots when the weather improves.
I have laughed today sir! This was brilliant, you were doing all the things I did on my first flight. Thanks for sharing your 1st drone flight ect. Also to be honest the first flight for you I would say that was a successful Subscribed from Scotland.
Thank you for subscribing and your comment!! I'm so glad you got a chuckle out of it. My channel is more about "what happened" instead of doing multiple takes and producing a perfect "how to" video. Maybe someday, but for now, just sharing the experiences!!
@@martinleif2872 Nice one Martin!
I share my videos on TH-cam, it’s my understanding if you’re not monetizing or doing reviews it fine to shared.
Thanks for your comment and your thought. It's frustrating to me that the FAA's rules are so vague that it's open to such widely varied interpretations. I'm still going to pursue Part 107 because I anticipate a larger drone in the future. But for now, I'm having fun learning to fly.
@ I’m probably going to get my 107 as well. One part of the FAA’s rules that was clear and I was surprised about, is recreational flyers can fly up to 55 pound drones as long as they are registered with the FAA and they are equipped with RID, and you aren’t using it for anything other than recreational. The part I’m unclear about is if you register one recreational drone , I think you supposed to register all of them?
I did get an answer on recreational flyers flying drones over 249 grams from the pilots institute. If the drone doesn’t have built in RID? I register the Add on RID with FAA for $5 and put the registration number on an drone I have over 249 grams and I can transfer the Add on RID over to any drone I want to fly over 249 grams up to 55 pounds and I’m in compliance.
Happy New Year, Martin, Brenda and Charlie!!
Thank you Suzie. To you and yours as well.
I have two drones - a DJI Mini 4K and a DJI Mini 3 (not the pro version, just the standard but the flymore combo variant), which came with the RC controller with the screen. As good as the 4K was, the downside I found with it was the fact I had to put my phone in the top of it to act as the screen, my phone is in a chunky case and I really have to force the clasp out to get it to fit, when it does then fit in it's constantly pressing the sleep/wake button or the volume buttons due to the position of the buttons on the phone, so whilst trying to load the DJI Fly app Siri will suddenly start or the volume will suddenly start moving, or the "Slide to power off" screen appears. The benefit for me of the Mini 3 with the RC controller with the screen is there's no need to use my phone. I also found that the Mini 4K seems a lot noisier in comparison to my Mini 3 which I flew in my garden only a few metres from me and wasn't as loud as I recall the Mini 4k being.
Thank you so much for your comment. I can completely relate to the challenges with the phone case. And it's interesting to me it can equally affect Android and Apple phones. It's also encouraging for me to hear someone else uses their drone with gardening. I'm SO looking forward to next season!! So as I'm learning to say, "Blue skies" regarding flying and fun gardening too!
@@martinleif2872 Unfortunately I live within 5 miles of an airport on the outskirts of London (UK), as such I have to get ATC clearance from my local airport (less than 1 mile from my house) before I can fly in the garden, at any height. I'm trying to find a good open space near me, somewhere where I can fly my drone with at a good distance and maintain line of sight, but also not somewhere where i'm going to keep being challenged by people saying "Are you allowed to fly a drone here?" or "You shouldn't be flying that here, this is a public park"...
@@martinleif2872 Took the mini 3 out for a flight near the Kent coast early hours of this morning - I took it up to 118 metres as the limit in the UK ias 120m (400 feet) due to airspace laws. Managed to get around 626 metres or about 1,878 feet from myself before starting to drop RC signal, and coming back, unfortunately I couldn't take the drone any higher or raise my position any higher so stopped going further, but still impressed and I'm aware they can go a lot further. I have ordered some very bright LED strobe lights for it as UK law requires VLOS (Visual Line Of Sight) to any UAV, and I could barely see the drone wiyhout the lights, when they arrive I imagine I'll be able to go further. On my first flight with the DJI Mini 4K back in June 2024 when I bought it, I managed 560 metres.
It's a great drone and a lot of fun to fly. Keep messing with it and you'll be flying like a Pro in no time. I have a few other drones but use this one the most to be honest.
Thanks for the comment and compliment!! When the weather improves, I'm looking forward to getting much more flight time.
Hello Martin, I think you're handheld drone video non flying drone works. But you can share drone videos and photos with family and friends with the trust certificate, FAA doesn't like it if it's general public. Unless it's part 107, and I heard a part 108 Tobe added 2025? This would allow drone pilot to fly beyond the VLOS. That would be great. The best I can do is 380 feet up and about 5500 feet away. I am in class G air space. so there are no problems with the VLOS. The only thing is the weather. To windy, rain or fog. So don't stop flying your drone, Mr. Martin Have a happy new year. Keep the drone up in the blue and not in the trees. Your fellow drone pilot.
Thank you again for adding to our conversation. So much to learn. I've got to admit, becoming proficient at reading sectional charts seems oddly 'overkill' for being able to share videos of my garden with the public instead of just family. Maybe I'm reading that incorrectly. This will eventually be cleared up. Two factors are keeping me from flying as New Years approaches, a little under the weather and the literal weather. It's a bit nasty in the PNW this holiday season. So here's to adventures in the new year!
They are not 'contact points! they are supposed to go OVER the top of your phone, which you've put on upside down. I would have thought you would have gone through this already BEFORE you tried a flight! I would have thought that you may have done at least SOME research BEFORE you tried a flight?! This is a good instructional video of how NOT to setup/use a drone! "I guess I DO have to pay attention"?!?!? REALLY!
I've got to admit you've nailed it perfectly! My goal is to simply show what I did - mistakes and all - improper terminology likely, as in this case, as I discover a new activity. These are 'here's what happened' videos. My hope being people can get something from them, like how NOT to do something I did. I really DO appreciate your comment and thank you for posting it.
You should do a height test on the drone and test its connectivity?
Hmmm, well..... I'm in a bit of a quandary about that. So far, in my scant half-dozen total flights, I'm still just a bit uncomfortable getting closer to my allowed limit of 400 ft AGL. Maybe against a really clear, blue sky, but not overcast. It's so small!!! Maybe when I get some more experience.
Great video!
Thanks very much for you compliment!! I hope to bring more in the coming year.
Great video sir! What editing program do you use to show the dubbel picture in 1 screen? Seeing the drone footage and ur camera footage at the same time😊😊
Thank you so much for your compliment and question. I currently am using MAGIX Movie Studio Suite 2024, but an also working on learning DaVinci Resolve (which is free and ridiculously powerful!!). In Magix, there's a "Template" page of which Picture In Picture Basics is an option. I selected one image for the left side and the other for right. Since the drone doesn't record its own audio, I used the sounds from the controller to sync the video.
Merry Christmas eve
Thanks - and the same to you!
Welcome to the drone pilot world. As a fellow drone pilot , I don't want to be a kill joy. 1. You need to pass a FAA drone test called TRUST to fly your drone in the USA. This test is free, and you get to print your drone license. 2. Know what air space you are flying in. I hope it is a Class E or G. Not Class A,B,C,D. You can fly in the above air space, but with FAA ATC permission. 3rd. You need to have a Part 107 drone license to post videos on TH-cam or other sites. To get the test in person at an FAA site costs about 150. To get your part 107 drone pilot license. Than you can post your flights on TH-cam. Here on TH-cam, you can find the information about the drone Part 107 test and how to pass it. You can still fly and post videos and pictures, just only to friends and family members. Under private use. Under the TRUST license. I'm trying to save you a headache and problems.
Edward, thank you for your detail-rich message. I'll try to answering each point. 1. Yes, I DO indeed have my TRUST certification. In fact, I'm encouraging my wife to get hers too so she can run the drone if I'm working on the tractor..... 2. We are in Class G as far as I understand. And in absolutely all cases, I have no plans to even exceed 300 ft above my location - cuz the drone is so small I almost can't see it! I have to maintain visual line of sight. 3. According to my understanding - the restriction on use of drone footage is on monetized channels - or if you're giving video to someone else's use. I'm not monetized (yet) but plan to get my Part 107 soon anyway. I see more/bigger drones in my future. I have been reading through the Part 107 preparation guide from the FAA website but not hurrying through it. I definitely want to PASS and be able to have a) knowledge about the proper procedures and b) having the freedom to work within those constraints. Personally, I think it's absurd that if I fly my drone over my backyard that the FAA could give a whit about it! However, I don't want to be limited to that! All that said - I will take another look at the restrictions on YT and act accordingly. I'm hoping that getting the Part 107 will remove concerns. Thanks again for your time and information.
@martinleif2872 Merry Christmas to you and your family. Ya, FAA is kinda funny about the drones. You would think about flying around in the backyard to be ok. But no. Just takes a ken or Karen that doesn't know the rules of Class E or G Air space. As long you have VLOS, you're ok to fly. Stay below the 400 feet. I think your drone has the follow me program. And way points. And a few other programs in side the dron app. Not sure about an air space. Download the app called Air Aware. It's free. I am like you, I don't have a part 107 yet, working on it. I found out about that posting on TH-cam by a fellow drone pilot he was busted by the FAA, gave him just a warning, another a guy was flying unsafe and posting he was fined 10,000 and 5 years? I have heard. A ken, short down a Amazon Drone, learned that it's illegal to shoot a drones, he had to pay 1000.00 and something other than jail. So, some times, rules are on the drone pilots side. Also, beware of the Birds, some will try to knock the drone down. I paid for my FAA drone numbers because my drone is over 0.250 do to my strobe lights. So I can fly pre sunrise and after sunset, but found I can see my drone even better in the day. Have a good day, keep green down and the blue up.
@rapid9534 Fly at your own risk. That's all I have to say.
How is the drone after getting wet?
Thanks for your question. The drone has suffered no ill effects after the VERY short time out in the rain. Fortunately it wasn't raining too hard - or I wouldn't have even considered it. I probably should have taken a picture of the drops on the body of the drone to give an indication of how much it was hit. It was certainly not "rain" or even "showers". But 10 minutes later, the sky let go!! I guess all that to say - maybe I shouldn't have done it!! Got lucky!
I like your style 👍
i have my mini 4k since one month now and im still impressed. its fun and the video quality is awesome
First - thank you so much for the comment. With this being my first drone I'm honestly amazed at the whole thing! Although I've not flown it in "wind" of any significance, the gimble is very stable. I'm hoping to find some time (plus decent weather!) to go find more picturesque places that will allow flight to get more visually interesting shots! And I need to play much more with the video camera options in manual. Since this drone has a small sensor - I'm going to have similar challenges to what I have with my primary camera, a Panasonic camcorder. Then there's the whole flying thing! So much to practice! Hoping we both have fun progressing with our drones!
Very nice property, congrats.
Thank you sir! (oh that's right - we talked about that!) Ahem - thanks bro! I'm looking forward to getting images when things are more ALIVE next year!
Your audio sounds great , is your phone recording you? I have an Air3s and it doesn't record my audio, I also have a Mavic 2 Zoom and it would record audio.
Hi MrNorthstar50, thanks for your question/comment. My audio setup might be somewhat unique. I mostly use a camcorder instead of an action cam (GoPro), mirrorless dslr or phone for my primary camera. I run a Rode NTG4+ (I got a smoking deal on!) on the left channel on the camera and a Rode Wireless Pro into the right channel. I have the option to simultaneously record on the wireless transmitter itself; one reason I chose the Rode system. So the shotgun gets ambience and the lav on wireless gets the closer audio. I'm constantly running to improve. I've only been doing this about a year! Sorry for the long answer!
Thank you for your answer, I've been flying drones since 2013 my brother gave me a little toy one with no GPS, then I got a DJI F450 that I had to build it did have GPS but no camera so I put a GoPro on it but it didn't have a gimbal so the videos were terrible. Then I got a mavic 2 Zoom and it's been a good drone but the transmitter battery can't be replaced and it's starting to get very weak so I bought the DJI air 3s and I'm just starting to play with it.
That sounds like quite a journey with drones. I'm such a complete beginner newbie!! Almost 100% of my drone flying experience is documented here in these few videos!! I'm looking forward to getting the Part 107 license and the opportunities that will open up for my future with drones.
Thank you very the info. I am stuck on one suggestion you made. To use a wireless mike while in flight. A great idea. So I tried it using my mini 4k. The mike connects via a receiver that connects to the USB C port at the base of my Android phone. The receiver has a pass-through port so I can connect the cable from the remote control. However, when I connect the cable from the remote control unit to the receiver the phone acts as if it is getting charged and I cannot control the drone. Is there a way around this. I tried changing how the phone acts when the USB port is used but that did not work. Any ideas?
I have what may be a unique solution for my wireless system. I envisioned my wife and I both working on stuff together so I opted for the Rode Wireless Pro system that includes two transmitters plus lavaliers and some dead cats and such. The great thing is, the transmitters can record directly, without even using the receiver. So I took the .wav file chemise from the mic and sync'd it with the audio from the my phone on the controller. So, at no time was I trying to record on the phone at the same time as run the DJI Fly app. Probably not the answer you were hoping for, but that's how I'm planning on doing this going forward. Hope that helps.
@@martinleif2872 Thanks for that. Not the answer I wanted as you said , However, I bought the mikes for a potential YT channel. Being able to use them with my drone too would have been a bonus.
I guess the only suggestion I could offer would be to find another place for the audio to record that will allow you to import it into your editor. I've not tried producing on my phone, but using editing sw on my pc.
Would a large sifter help with the buttercup removal?
Well..... I've even thought about building some kind of trammel like the miners use to separate the weeds from the dirt - but, that might be beneficial predominantly during much drier times of year. Right now - I just do the best I can when it's this damp and cold! Brenda tells me she uses sifters in the vegetable garden. Thanks for the comment and suggestion!
I'm curious about your drone's application. As you approached the trees, does the app give you a "distance to object" reading? How do you prevent collisions?
Hey Dubi - this really basic drone doesn't have collision avoidance - other than the driver, ME! What I get is vertical and horizontal distance from the "Home" point. If/when I get a more capable drone, I'll let you know.
@@martinleif2872 Humans are the best collision sensors
@dubiloo734 many drones don't have avoidance, so you must stop it from going into trees or fly above the trees. Flying near trees should be slow at a pace that you can stop in time.
@@edwardcobb8017 trees are dicks, just don't go near them
Hi man, do you have discord or whatsapp? I could help you out :D (my timezone is gmt +8 tho)
Sorry my friend, I have neither. I have a Telegram account under my name.

@@martinleif2872 I'm sorry, but I don't think I can add you without your number. I don't use telegram much tho, maybe you can tell me how.
@@BZEOfficials Oops. My bad!! Try looking for "MLeifBassplayer"
Hello, you can search imolaza to view more
Thanks - we'll have a look.
@@martinleif2872 Hello, regarding the collaboration with the ImoLaza smart irrigation controller, what was the final outcome? Are you interested in collaborating?
Congratulations on your first drone. My suggestion for new flyers is to practice in an open field. Raise the drone to waist level and walk it like a dog to practice coordinated control movements. Once you're comfortable send it out 20 yards at eye level and practice figure-eights for smooth movements. Always practice flying line-of-sight and keep your eyes off the screen until maneuvering becomes more intuitive. RTH is a failsafe and should not be relied upon. Practice only until you understand the RTH sequence but do not get into the habit of using it regularly to land the drone. I'll use RTH to retrieve the drone from a distance and switch it off to land manually. Don't want to load you up on tips. Enjoy the learning curve, it's very steep but it's great fun once you get there! Happy Flying!
@@savethelighthouse thank you very much for your quite helpful suggestions. I do indeed have access to a large field (that is, until my former employer kicks me out!!), and I'll get some more practice time. I've also started thinking, "the drone's left, not mine," etc.
Hello, are you interested in cooperation related to smart irrigation controllers? I would like to invite you to try our controllers
Hello there, Kathy I presume. How can we find out more about your controllers? Do you have a website or email you would be willing to share?
congratulations on getting your new drone!! I have a DJI mini 4 pro and absolutely love it. if you're having difficulties with your controller consider upgrading to the rc1 or rc2 controller if available for your drone you will get much better performance and have a full screen for viewing. 😁
I don't think the mini 4k works with other DJI controllers, and likewise the N1 controller supplied with the mini4k doesn't work with other DJI drones - not that I can see online anyhow...a bit frustrating really! mini 4k is amazing in it's own right though! Nice video - happy flying!
That's an idea I wanted to look into. In any case, this is rapidly becoming my "first" drone with the increasing likelihood of a more capable one (requiring Part 107) in my future.
Thank you too for your comment and compliment. I can potentially see a time that I hand this Mini 4K down to my wife or one of my sons as I hope to upgrade to a more capable drone in the future.
Hello this verys the nice videos
Thank you for your comment and compliment. I'm hoping to continue to create and post good content.
Charlie being a bit obstinate 😀
We'll go with that! He's stir crazy. Mom's not feeling 100% and the weather is quite different than summer - duh!! So he's got pent up energy and loves running around in the back! Or, Charlie is being Charlie!!
Hi man :D I subbed. Congrats on your mini 4k :DD
Thank you for both your subscription and your comment. It seems like a really perfect entry into flying camera drones. At some point, and it's already starting to feel inevitable - I'll be going for the Part 107 certification - mostly to enable flying for other than strictly recreational, personal uses.
Isn't your channel monetized? if it is, I think it is required to have a part 107 to upload your content from the drone
@BZEOfficials No, not monetized yet. Not enough subscribers to qualify, ergo, I can still post video from my drone.
@martinleif2872 oh I thought you had like 1k. Mb :D
I would be exactly the same. Thanks for taking the time to share with us. We learn every day! Looking forward to seeing your footage. Good Luck!
Thank you for your comment and it's my pleasure to post content as my journey into producing video continues.
@@martinleif2872 I will be following your progress Sir! Happy Holidays from the UK.
Thanks for the video! People call these beginner and entry level drones but after flying mine the last couple weeks I don't even see a reason to upgrade. This little Miini 4K is far more capable than I expected!!
Great observation and thank you for adding the comment. Today I rushed to make a little landing pad and went out where there was a lot of space and tried the Quick Shots and a Panoramic picture. Posting in a couple days. I was hoping to get a follow me feature for when I'm working in the yard on the tractor next year but the Mini 4K doesn't have that. So I guess my wife needs to take the safety training!! You are right about it being very capable. I'll be trying the 4K video soon too.
Any delays for you with shipping? Mine should have arrived last Wednesday Dec 4th. It’s finally in Atlanta. I’m one state away. Hopefully it’s here tomorrow 😭
According to my messages (with DHL) and the packing slip - mine left China on Nov. 29 and got to me in WA State on Dec. 3. And THAT was with a requested delay in delivery - because we weren't going to be home on the original delivery date. I thought that was rather quick. If this is your first drone - one thing I will advise you to do, that wasn't in any of the available training videos - when get the DJI Fly app running - go into the three dots ( . . . ) in the upper right corner - and check your setting for Return To Home (RTH) altitude. Mine was set WAY TOO HIGH for my licensing. Change it to something reasonable for the terrain you'll be flying in. I hope you have as much fun as I'm having.
I'm in Ohio and it took me almost 2 weeks to get it because of customs. Worth it!! 😀
@@InnerSanctum77, I've only flown on three occasions, but learning tons each time out and loving it!
@ that’s a pretty fast turn around. Mine should arrive today. But now I have to wait for the weekend to do my first fly because all be at work all week.
That’s awesome 😎 ❤
Quite a surprise indeed!
You have one helluva piece of property there. Love it. Kind of reminds me of my mom’s double lot in Illinois.
Why thank you Sister Suzie!! We found it to be a perfect fit for us when we needed another room so our boys also had their own rooms like their sister. But OMG, the yard is a full time job just to keep up!!! Thanks for your nice comment.
WOW! Lots of work.
Makin it up as we go!!
What a freaking nightmare.
Yes indeed!! I'm hoping my current understanding, that this is really just a nuisance ends up accurate. So far, there aren't any more on the buildings so that may be evidence our efforts so far have been effective. We'll see!!
@@martinleif2872 I think you are lucky that you caught it right away. Most of the videos I've seen people don't notice it or don't look into it until all those spots have dried and gotten old. After that they are impossible to remove.
So now all your stored cardboard is in the gardens. What will you do with all the space you freed up?
Let this not be a surprise to you but I'm planning on shooting a video..... I used to have all my stuff plus Brenda's garden stuff in there. But I also had the "tent" the machines live in. NOW, Brenda has her own "she shed" plus the greenhouse. You'd think I'd have gobs of room. Well.... I really need to evaluate what I really need to keep. Noteworthy are the remaining materials (tile, tile setting stuff) left over from the remodel and a bunch of other stuff I'm simply reticent to toss. Much of it just needs to find a home where someone can make use of it. So for this pack rat, it's going to be a difficult exercise!! It should result in a more useful space for working on projects. Ok - tome is completed!
The sound of rain is minimal, but then I am in Arizona and love the sound of rain.
Thanks Debbie. The rain is just one of those things to deal with as I learn this videography thing!
Scorched earth can be a good thing; opens up many possibilities. Hard work!
Yeah, it really needed it too!! I'll be very interested in how effective the work was come next spring. Biggest challenge was working in cold, damp soil! We're out in the cold today too. Video coming....
worcestershire, please learn how to say it...
Also, have you melted your canopy yet?
I knew I was taking a chance on that pronunciation!!! I've heard several and I chose that one. Thanks for the comment!!
So far getting it ready to take it and other metal stuff to recycle.
You should taste your food and describe it for us just like the tv shows do 😊
You are so right!!! More evidence of how much I have to learn about making these videos. For the record, they tasted great. Honestly, not the very best I've done them but still very good. Thanks for the comment.
Having 5 gigantic silver maple and one russian birch trees in my yard, I easily have 50 times the leaves you do. I'm very happy my landscapers will be here any minute to remove this week's accumulation. Thanks for the effective use of time lapse; made the video more watchable.
Thanks Dubi. I may have landed on an approach for producing these videos. Oh, and Brenda said she wants your leaves!!!
good job the yard looks great! you should consider adding a beehive to your property.
I just read your comment to my wife who said, "I know, I've already thought about it!" I agree. The extra pollinators would certainly help the gardens. Thanks for the comment.
Don’t change the name!!!
Thank you Suzie!! Yeah, Brenda likes it too!!
I love your videos. I look forward to seeing new ones.
I'll do the best I can to continue to improve the quality and production level as I learn more. Thanks for your kind comments.
