Cessna 206 N5290U Wreckage, Hunter-Fryingpan Wilderness, Colorado
Remains of a crashed Cessna 206, N5290U, dating to 1972. Four people unfortunately lost their lives in this crash, as the aircraft they were in failed to outclimb the surrounding terrain, eventually stalling out and plummeting to the valley floor. It lays within the confines of the Hunter-Fryingpan Wilderness.

The story behind the crash. One of those killed in the crash in 1972 was Lance Reventlow who was the son of the heirress of the woolworth fortune Barbara Hutton. Lance chartered this Cessna 206 to scout out some land he was showing to some client's. The plane flew into a canyon and realising his mistake the pilot tried to perform a turn and he stallled. Reventlow and his 2 other passengers and the pilot were killed. The death of her son was the begining of the end for Barbara Hutton and she entered a final downward spiral into ill health and poverty leading to her death in 1979 at the age of 66. Reventlow was formerly married to Bond girl Jill st John who is currently married to Robert Wagner.
