@ Why not just keep backup dj equipment set up, all you would have to do is set up the cameras and laptops. Well thats what i do. Going your route would make me not want to stream either

Appreciate it Dave! Honestly, the size and weight isnt really the issue (although lugging nearly 40kg into the car and into a venue every event is obviously no fun 😄), but the sound is the sticking point for me. I hoped one of these would be more than capable and in terms of overall dB, I've no complaints. But the spread / throw / coverage with just one isn't really where I hoped it would be 🤷‍♂️

@@ThePOVDJyou’ll probably need 2 in all fairness but it’s a lot of money and if your Yamaha’s did the job, it might not be worth the investment. Sometimes as Dj’s, we get seduced by the latest and gratest, when in truth. As long as the kit is decent and we play the right music, that’s what really matters. I’m sure you’ll make the right call. I look forward to your next gig log, really enjoy them👍

@djdaveellis1 Yeah man I hear you. I try not to get sucked in by the gear desire but I do still want to streamline. Setting up tops on stands at every gig has overstayed its welcome hahah 😄 Considering a pair of Maui 28s but not much change from 3 grand with the bags etc so I'm mulling that one over for the time being. I've had a go on those RCF Evox's. I've played on the 8s in the past (a few venues and another DJ I know has them) and was also weighing up getting a 12 or this 44 G2, but I dunno man. The 8s just didnt have the oomph I like, hence getting something with a 15" bass driver was a requirement when I was shortlisting options. Thanks for the kind words as ever my man 👊🏼

Yeah, I agree with you absolutely. I did think this, but I did a load of gigs years ago (when I was getting started) with a single one of the Bose L1 Model II's and I remember it being more than capable so I thought this might do the job too. A pair of 44s would be the dream but I do not have the room or the finances for that so the 28 G3s are potentially on the cards... watch this space 😁

Ahhh nice mate, thanks for hopping over! Trying to showcase what goes on behind the scenes, particularly at weddings in the UK, as there doesn't seem to be anyone doing much POV stuff at all. I've got new videos out every two weeks on a Thursday afternoon (next one drops this Thursday 25th). Good luck with your own journey, my advice would be don't worry too much about what gear you buy at first, the music and the relationships with your clients will always be the most important thing 😊

Thanks for the advice, it's so easy to get caught up in people's differing opinions, and needing certain types of kit to be any good, such as DMX controlled lights etc. Slowly getting there though. I think I've watched every DJ Peck video, he's got me wanting to buy a desk from Amazon just to build his Lavish booth 😅 but I'm resisting the temptation for now. It''s nice to see a UK perspective 👍👍👍.

Haha yeah, I suffer from that gear-related imposter syndrome all the time 😬 On the other hand, as the ancient chinese proverb goes: life's too short, get it bought! (or something like that 😄)
