Ep 89 | Apocalypse and the End of The World: Welcome to Revelation
In this introduction to Revelation, we explore how history, culture, and imagination collide to shape some of the most popular End Times interpretations. We break down four major approaches to the book-without taking sides-and unpack Revelation’s genre, authorship, and powerful themes like God’s victory over evil. The goal? To take you from confused to confident. No conspiracy theories here-just serious biblical study. Tune in, and you’ll never read Revelation the same way again.

Ep 88 | What Is Beauty? with Jon Ciraulo
มุมมอง 6021 วันที่ผ่านมา
Beauty is powerful-it captivates, inspires, and even confuses us. It shapes how we see the world, draws on our desire, and can stir something deep in the soul. But it also raises big questions: Is beauty fleeting? Can it become an idol? And where do we find it in the Bible or the sacraments? Ryan and theology professor Jon Ciraulo unpack these ideas and more in this episode of The Deeper Bible ...

We all need help reading the Bible! #theology #god #christianity #christianbeliefs #bible #thebible #jesus #philosophy #questions #faith
I am committed to this earth and to this humanity. Yes, everyone needs to find their own source of meaning and fulfilment in life and yes, it can be hard to find when you are at liberty to choose your own path. But it's infinitely better when people can find it themselves, rather than having it forced upon them
These iliberal people should just go and create their one backwards ass country. Liberalism is failing? Best standard of Living, longest live expectancy, lowest infant mortality, all liberal countries
#money #greed #theology #jesus #christianity #god #politics
Fact checking myself here (lol)... at 51:29 I say that "Shiloah" (שלוח) refers to where the tabernacle was first set up. But that's incorrect. Shiloh (שלה) is the location of the tabernacle; Shiloah refers to the aqueduct of Jerusalem that supplied water to the city. In Isaiah 8:6-7 the prophet contrasts the trickle of Jerusalem's water supply with the massive River (the Euphrates) that anchored the Assyrian empire. Here's to intellectual honestly! :)
Thank you Pastor Rayen
What you theoretically propose wouldn't be possible because Jesus couldn't run for President of the United States since Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution requires that the President or Vice President be a "natural born citizen" of the United States. However, if Jesus returned to Israel today, even if He had been away for quite a while (say, around 2,000 years), under "the right of return", He could certainly claim Israeli citizenship, & in the fullness of time, He could run for the office of Prime Minister. The Israeli prime minister ordinarily leads the largest party in the governing coalition since Israeli governments are coalitions between two or more political parties. That also means that the Prime Minster doesn't wield that much political power. Then again, can anyone imagine the disciples as members of His cabinet. BTW, Jesus, however, would most likely also approve of Donald Trump's recent choice of U.S. Ambassador to Israel, former Arkansas government & Southern Baptist minister, Mike Huckabee.
I would have appreciated some kind of comment on being a Christian democrat with the pro abortion plank in their policies how do you reconcile that.
All the crap the left is always rioting over is social issues. They want to elect morons based on social issues. I want politicians that follow the constitution and govern thru policies
Great discussion, Ryan. Looking forward to episodes 2 and 3.

Eating Children in The Bible: Deuteronomy 28:53 Kings 6:29 Jeremiah 19:9 Lamentations 4:10 Ezekiel 5:10
The books that were included in the Bible were those that were deemed necessary in order to teach the tenets of the faith.
Dispensationalism does not require connecting dots to the modern news. However when things like the rebirth of israel in 1948, it would be tragic to miss that God foresaw this and predicted it….
The book in English is "Side by Side"

Most welcome, Deb! Thanks for listening :)
The snake clearly fucked it then
If we weren’t designed to be able to understand good and evil, that would mean that we would be equivalent to beast, acting solely on instinct. If we were designed to run solely on instinct, how and why do we have frontal lobes in our brain? This area is designed for higher level thought, which HAS to take into account morality.
Psalm 2 Why this turmoil of nations, this futile plotting of peoples, with kings of the earth conspiring, and rulers consulting together, against the Lord and against his anointed, to snap their bonds and fling their cords away? He whose throne is in heaven laughs, the Lord mocks them. Then he speaks to them in his wrath, and in his hot anger confounds them. “This my king is installed by me, on Zion my holy mountain.” I will tell of the Lord ’s decree. He said to me: “You are my son, this day I became your father. Only ask, and I make you the heir of the nations, and lord of the world to its utmost bounds. You will break them with sceptre of iron, shatter them like pottery.” So now, you kings, be wise: be warned, you rulers of earth. Serve the Lord in awe, kiss his feet with trembling, lest, angry, he hurl you to ruin; for soon will his fury blaze. Happy all who take refuge in him.
Israel literally means "Defies God", and it is a name given to Jacob, grandson of Abraham, and that because Jacob fought an angel, without knowing he was an angel, BTW.
Just because there is suffering and pain they think what kind of god is this. He's a just God and everyone will pay for their sins in the end. Just have faith, live your life for Christ so that when that time comes your name will be in the book of life.
Why can’t people except that God was invented to control their lives
The Dormition of the Virgin Mary marks the end of her earthly life when she was taken up to heaven, body and soul. Celebrated on August 15 (also known as the Assumption in the Catholic Church), it underscores her purity and unique role in salvation history. This belief is especially honored in Eastern Orthodox and Catholic traditions.
Absolutely, Catholics are Christians. The Catholic Church was responsible for compiling and canonizing the Bible, which has defined Christianity for centuries. During the Reformation, Martin Luther excluded seven books from the Old Testament, known as the Deuterocanonical books, and even questioned some New Testament texts due to doctrinal disagreements. Despite these differences, Catholics share the core beliefs of Christianity, including the divinity of Jesus, His resurrection, and salvation through Christ. The Catholic Church has been a foundational pillar in the development of Christian doctrine and practice. So, yes, Catholics are indeed Christians.
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, that is the Christ Jesus. -1Tim 2:5 No intercession of saints or confession to priests mentioned. Christ is the High Priest and the Mediator, not man, or any saint taken up into glory. Peter has no Apostolic succesion that dictates that his possible descendants should inhereit it. Scripture is clear.
Edited the comment to give context for my response. 1 Timothy 2:5 emphasizes Jesus as the primary mediator, which Catholics fully affirm. However, Catholics also believe in the intercession of saints and the role of priests as part of the Church's communal prayer and sacramental life. Intercession is asking others, including saints, to pray for us, just as we ask friends to pray for us (Revelation 5:8, Revelation 8:3-4). This doesn't replace Christ’s mediation but complements it. As for confession to priests, Jesus grants the apostles the authority to forgive sins in John 20:21-23, which is the basis for the sacrament of confession. Regarding apostolic succession, Catholics believe it is rooted in Scripture and Tradition. Jesus gives Peter a unique role in Matthew 16:18-19, which Catholics believe is passed on to his successors. Acts 1:20-26 shows the apostles replacing Judas, an early example of maintaining apostolic leadership through succession. These practices enrich the faith and support believers in their relationship with Christ, the ultimate mediator.
Love you Ryan, seriously your awesome
This is really good stuff!! Ive not found a better source that explains in English!
