No, this vehicle has minor claims in the past . Nothing major .

Depends if it was well maintained. The 2014 model year had a new 2 litre 4 cylinder which was definitely more reliable than the smaller more problematic 1.8 litre in the earlier elantras. It is however still a Gdi engine, which is prone to engine issues when it isn’t properly maintained, carbon buildup and oil consumption very common when they aren’t taken care of.

@@xxflintxxllii7541 Most likely to fix the problem it’ll need an engine. How severe is the oil consumption? I’d just live with it unless it was overly extreme. I’ve owned a 13 Elantra gt and currently own a 14 Elantra gt. I’ll say my 14 runs better and quieter than my 13 did, which sounded like rocks in a bucket for the first 10 minutes on every cold start, but both burned oil. My 14 elantra gt will use about 1-2 quarts between oil changes which is annoying but not extreme enough for me to really worry about it.

@@liljbob3309 I changed the oil a little over a month ago and about two weeks ago , it said it was empty so I put two quarts in it which filled it up. I put another quart in it like last weekend because it was low, now it’s in the middle.
