Edinburgh Mudlarking
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 29 ธ.ค. 2020
I began filming daft videos during lock down for a couple of pals who liked to watch. Despite the distance between us, they felt they were there with me.
As we came out of lock down and as time went on I discovered the additional benefits of being out in the open, connecting with the seabirds and detoxing my mind of all the stresses I accumulated during the week. For me, the beach is my happy place, and I am generally found here on a weekend rummaging through shingle looking for treasure.
Mudlarking for mindfulness gives me so much joy. It’s like gentle therapy and I am sharing a tiny pocket of that in these videos.

Very quiet mudlark but great finds at the end viewing table. First ever torso find!
I used a microphone for the first time to block out the wind. With reflection, I prefer the wind, sea birds, waves and the crunch of walking on shells. So this will be the one and only quiet video.
I’m so thrilled with today’s finds. Two for the special cabinet. See the special finds in a former video.

Happy New Year. We slipped and skated on the icy roads towards Musselburgh! Very icy windy morning. Apologies for the sound. I am waiting for my new fluffy microphone.

Mudlarking finds from Scotland's beaches. A wee collection of treasure found washed up on the East Lothian coast. Where do you keep yours?

Quiet one in Prestonpans Mudlarking. Not a lot of finds. But lovely old rugged beach with smugglers cottages and hidden passages. Lovely.

@@shirleycantoni3152 thank you and very best wishes from us in Edinburgh.
Had a hard time watching your camera went so fast I couldn’t catch. Things.
@@user-mf6wg9wo3y oops sorry about that. I’m thinking of buying a gimbal so that might improve. Hello from us here in Edinburgh.
Kiln stilts
Do you not double it with a litter pick as there looks like there is a lot of rubbish too ?
@@margaretsmith9553 occasionally I’ll pick up a carrier bag full. But on a weekend we have a great team of volunteers who fill sack fulls of beach litter in Musselburgh. They truly are amazing and out in all weathers. All the best from us here.
The horse looks like a toy gun handle
@@nanalenox932 oh yes!! I see it now. Thank you and best wishes from Edinburgh.
I am amazed at all the drift wood and seashells they are there. I do whittling from time to time it relaxes me and i like to make windchimes from shells or paint them. Do you do any crafts? I was just thinking if you had one of those shoe horns on the end of a cane or pole it would help easier to flip things over as you go. I too love patterns in shards and things. Thank you for sharing your walk!
@@debrabrooks6138 yes I work in an accommodation service and we have a garden project. Lots of fabulous driftwood creations are made from the driftwood we find. I will certainly look into whittling thank you. I love the shoe horn idea! Saves my wee back. Best wishes from Edinburgh.
You went past loads of stuff omg
@@mayhughes5429 I know, my eye sight is not the best. When I watch the finished videos I think, oooooh was that a marble?! Teasing me through yesterday’s recording. Best wishes from Edinburgh.
