I want you as a disciple of Christ focus more on spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ in this country rather than staying in one place for long time as how Apostle Paul did and encourage other people too as a part of great commission for the same mission, make disciples, teach those have the ability to teach others and send them to city to city and plant church. I find it sad that when Conservatives do charity work, it is derided as "an act." When liberals do charity work, they are praised for taking time out of their lives to bring attention to a cause. You can't judge someone's heart you know? I think it was wonderful to see Palin openly caring for cholera-inflicted children, and its so sad that literally a month later, people would accuse her of causing the death of a nine year old girl. No justice.

@detroitsam1 I see what you're saying. However, the impact of the shoboxes is tremendous. Think about it: you have a child who lost everything in the earthquake; friends, family, parents. They're sick and wounded in a medical center and someone brings them gifts. While, no, it doesn't make their situation immediately better, it gives them total joy for maybe just a day, to know that some stranger in another country cared enough to make a gift for them. Something that they could never afford. :)

@kiesha86 you right praying isnt enough because its one thing to say it but we also need to do it. the sad thing is there will also ways be poverty and kids that suffer from it, but because we have the blessing of being born in a good country (usa,canada,uk,australia ect,) were those things are provided for us we need to help those that are in need and like dera0225 said operation christmas child also provides these things (food ,water wells, medical services ect.)

The shoebox program is run by Samaritan's Purse. They do provide food and do emergency relief work. This is just a small part of how they bless and serve.

Why do you hate so much? When there is devistation and you can get people to send money who gives a shit who it is.

Franklin Graham invited Palin to go to Haiti and see the work his NGO Samaritan's Purse IS DOING in Haiti with cholera clinics, temporary shelters, clean water, rubble removal, and yes shoebox gifts. This wasn't a Palin arranged photo-op. Sure, she may not have gotten her hands dirty digging a well, but she did encourage Haitians. That shouldn't be undermined. Cholera clinics are some of the saddest places on earth. For her to go there and cheer up those afflicted by the epidemic says a lot.

There are plenty of other ways for Palin to improve her relationship with the African American community than visiting cholera victims in Haiti. Why does everything have to be a political strategy? Maybe, she genuinely does feel compassion towards the plight of the Haitian people. Before you speculate about someone's motives for doing something good, why don't you look inside your own heart and ask yourself, "Why am I not in Haiti helping the Haitian people?"

Charity? Yeah right. It's just a publicity stunt to keep the donations coming in. The first $483,000 of donations to Samaritan's Purse last year went straight into Frank Graham's already fat wallet. The more money that comes in, the more money that goes into these grifters pockets. Shameful!
