12:30 on M Street retrospect - Late Night Jazz …
มุมมอง 1.6Kปีที่แล้ว
From the heart This tune is inspired by Jazz Groups playing late into the night. The Clubs in the Video are from my younger days in Washington D.C. Many, once located on M Street are no longer there. Clubs in order of appearance : The Saloun .. once (early 80s) had no cover and free local jazz late into the night. …… Blues Alley !!! Blues Alley is my favorite of all time The Cellar Door The Bay...
Very cool!!
Thanks for giving me a listen and a comment. I am curious how my tune sounds to others…… when I listen to on Red Gardenien Street I hear 3 obvious mistakes. Ha ! Most people I ask don’t hear the mistakes. You, being a musician might have a better ear….. let me know if the mistakes are obvious or go unnoticed. I am going to check out more of the music you have created. Do you have a favorite? And what is your most fan favorite?
I have a tune I called “ A Jamming Tune”, I played a little bass solo in the middle and was wondering if it was noticeable a half beat off or sounds dead on ? I would love to know your thoughts.
@johannhauffman323 my "Fransen" project only had 5 songs. You should listen to all of them ;). I didn't really notice any mistakes in your song , it's a free jazz sort of form, just part of the vibe to me , sounds cool.
@@fransenmusic I will check out your other songs. Thanks for your comment, it is a good reminder of how I hear my music differently than I hear music in general. When listening to music I never think “ that one note is supposed to be a g# “ ha! But I guess I do that all the time when I listen to my music. Thanks man !
You are fantastic . Ich Liebe Dich 🥰❤
you are my heart ❤️ ich Liebe dich 💕
Very nice composition and playing too, i like it ❤ and most of musicians showed on pic its my favourite 😊
Thank you so much for the kind comment and feedback. I was thinking of redoing it, making it a bit longer and cleaning up a few little mistakes, but it is probably best to leave it be. Thanks so much.
Thanks so much. I am curious…. Of the musicians I pictured….who from your favorites would you add and who would you have removed? I am truly curious. I look back on this and wonder why I added this guy and why I forgot this other. Peace Robert
Nice one all !
Thanks ✌️

Sounding good, Johann! Love your tone, and great band. Swingin! Unique tune. Hope to hear more
Thanks Sean so much for giving a listen and the kind comments. Looking forward to hearing more from you. What is your favorite song from you?
Cool, Johann!
Thanks for giving it a listen. I enjoyed your sock drawer tune, did you play the bass on that as well?
@@johannhauffman323 yes. David McNair is the excellent drummer and I do everything else. It is not so one - sided, as we swap files and the drumming often suggests where the tune should go next. David is a great listener, and focuses on the good bits of the early versions, which helps me take the music forward.
Damn, that has some fire...👊
Thank you so much for the wonderful, kind words David ! You Rock !
Was this the "old" 9:30 club? Went to my first club shows there; saw Type O Negative, Gwar, and G. Love. Loved that venue, much more intimate than the newer place.
Thank you so much for listening and watching ! Yes, almost all of the photos are from the old 9:30 on F Street. I saw many great shows there and met many amazing people there as well. I have another video with some cool photos of other D.C.music venues you might enjoy. It’s Called “12:30 on M Street” Thanks so much for comment !!!
I Love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😃💋
That fills my heart with joy 💕
lovely work Johann, very impressive X lovely open feel and yes a feel of pre-mahavishnu mclaughlin
Wow that is quite the complement ! Thanks for listening and the feedback. Hope you guys have a stop in Berlin next year.
@@johannhauffman323 hope so :)
Love it! ❤ Reminds me of McLaughlin’s ‘Extrapolation’ album.
Wow, those are possibly the most wonderful, uplifting and supportive words I have ever heard. Thanks for that !!!
Hi Johann, this is a very evocative piece. I totally dig it. Your list of artists is like a list of my personal favourites!
Thank you Philip for such nice words. This for me was very off script, I was shooting for a feel, and just played. I listened to Shiva’s Dance and Cosmic Tuning Fork. Really enjoyed them. Very professional, interesting and moving. I am curious…. What is your favorite song from what you have up on your channel? Ja, the list of artists is a list of live shows I was fortunate enough to absorb in my ear’s. Is 95% accurate. ( not Monk or Miles at the Cellar Door… I was not allowed at that time). I was too young. Hope you make more music. Peace Brother
@@johannhauffman323 Hi Johann. Thanks again for your appreciation. I would say that Shiva’s Dance is my favourite. I like the variations on the melody and the ambient Moog segue at the end. Cheers.
@@ganazby hi Philip Listened to Shiva’s Dance again just now and it is really very good! Also “Name the Color Blind the Eye”… this I like even more ! Peace Philip

Nice! When was the Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker tour? Who was on guitar?
That was at the Bayou in 1989. Had new respect after hearing them live. I think the guitar player was Blues Saraceno. The phone is with Garry Moore…. I couldn’t find many with Jack and Ginger in the same shot. www.setlist.fm/setlist/jack-bruce-band-with-ginger-baker/1989/the-bayou-washington-dc-5b9e8f44.html
