EA states one section of the site needs to be regraded to allow for machine access to install a temporary capping layer. Work is already underway as viewers can see, and expected to be completed completed by 21st January2024? Further works expected to be complete by Easter? Peak H2S (Hydrogen Sulphide) reading so far was recorded at Brafferton on the 3rd January 2024 at 28ppb.

Part 1 of coverage at Aycliffe Landfill site. Residents in the North of Darlington and surrounding villages have been reporting a foul stench in the air since last year. Meeting arranged at Brafferton Village Hall last week and spokesperson explained EA are investigating and looking into possible prosecution.

Part 1 showing the massive amount of housing developments encircling Darlington. The main sewage plant is at Stressholme to the south of Darlington which discharges into the River Skerne then into the River Tees, which is under further mass development for the Teesport Freeport.
