Destroyed By Sledgehammer Tank Strat Twice!!!- Mechabellum
มุมมอง 208หลายเดือนก่อน
My first outing into multiplayer in Mechabellum and I am greeted with a Overpowered Sledgehammer Tank strategy!! Can I overcome it.
Hi! Carry fangs can be countered with mustangs, vulcans, stormcallers, fire badgers, typhoons, tarantulas, wraiths, rays, overlords, and i supose with hackers or rhinos as well. It depends from the support units. Trust me, this tactic does not work at the most time. In this game the biggest error of you opponent was, that he/she had no chaff, and he/she did not respond to your tactics in time. Fangs are good and important chaff units, that sometimes can help you out. Nice win nonetheless. Keep it up!
Thanks for watching and giving feedback. Hope you come back again or even play a game sometime 👍😊
Think its coming together nicely 😮
Looks cool 🎉
Agreed 👍
Like your editing starting to improve although would prefer commentary
Yeah I agree 👍
Yeah but could be better
Would like to see other players if you can
Same maybe even one of us 😂
Think that's a great idea 💡
Good to see less competitive people represented lol we might not be good at the game but we still play 🤣🤣🤣
i do try to represent lol
its interesting to see how you low MMR players try to play....in saying you guys change nothing even if it isnt working lol
lol hence why these videos may help. if people are doing this it will encourage them to maybe try something new
Seems like low level gameplay needs to improve I play better and I'm 224MMR
well thats why i post to highlight the difference in gameplay and hopefully people can learn a little something
Think he could haveade several changes rather than just flank you. He didn't change anything I can't understand why
thank you for visiting
Out of curiosity what mmr are you playing on? I feel like the opponents above 1400 wouldnt be just passively letting someone build a full fang carry. Also why put anti air on tarantulas?
@@SleepyHylian oh I'm a casual player I'm on 894 MMR so not playing a high level like stoney or surrey
@@SleepyHylian but just trying to introduce the game to people as I think casual player or hardcore it's a great game 😊
@@UncannyParadoxhey man! Thats rad! Its honestly nice to see a great range of skills on the game and on yt, im playing around 1500 myself but im still aways away from the pros, keep on making videos and playing! Hope to play you sometime
@SleepyHylian if I ever get my MMR up that high lol 🤣 just glad there is a fun engaging easy to play strategy game out there I finally feel fits a lot of gamers needs. No big time commitment just jump in and have fun. Thanks for taking the time to watch the vid my audio in this was bad got a new mic but will fix it. Appreciate you taking the time to watch bud hopefully play you someday 😊👍
Enemy didn't try to counter your strategy, so I wonder how would it work if he tried. He just pushed more Overlords. I'd like to see carry Fangs in action when enemy tries to burn them or uses splash damage.
@@Heikedin yeah I did mention in the video the easiest counter would be Vulcans or even storm breakers with ignite would have been useful given the range The teachable moment here is don't be afraid to change your strategy no matter how far down the road you get in game
@@UncannyParadox Agreed!
Good game fella keep it going 👍👏
Thanks for the visit
Think that strategy would leave you pretty vulnerable to fire from storm breakers or Vulcans
yeah but i have beaten vulcans using this strat too
Don't like fangs they are always destroyed by storm breakers
they can be vulnerable try using mechanical rage it improves units movement speed
I agree just use them to buy time for my other units
Great comeback sir 😊
Glad to see you regularly posting
Suprised you didn't go sandworms 😂😂
That was a close one good job
What game is this?
@@Atratzu the game is called MECHABELLUM. 👍😊
Farseer for the win huh
Seems ok not what I was expecting but will see what strats are out there with this unit. Like the Farseer combination though
Good win farseer is OP not Phantom wray lol 😂
The Phantom doesnt excite me i think its useless. too many air units in the game
Dude could've just went steel balls
@@Thots_not_botsI know, I'm still learning the game but even I'm surprised, he just kept rolling into the Ariel unit build and it really hurt him
Scorpions and sabertooth would of easily won the enemy the game into your board
I know he kept rolling really heavily into Ariel units which helped me
Good game finally showing us a win 😂
First time seeing the game. Reminds me of Command & Conquer. looks good
It's got elements of it but not RTS more turn based strategy but it's great fun
It's a really fun game of Mech Chess 😂 but will make you rage at times lol you were warned
Good win there. Probably your first and last 😂
Much better play bud seems like your game is improving 😊
Thank you
Thats funny as hell perfect timing 😂😂
Is it like minecraft?
Lol love the mech
This is 1.0 right?
Graphics are ok what is this game
Not the best gameplay I have seen. But your puttin time into the game so good start 😊
Lol that would make me rage 😂
Something satisfying about building and destroying in games 😂
I agree lol 😊
The mech looks cool but it's armour is really weak
Love 7 days to die but 1.0 hasn't been what I expected if I'm being honest
Mechbellum is a masterpiece of a game
Don't worry about the rough start bud just keep working on improving your game ☺️👍
Thanks for the visit I appreciate it 😊
Whats this game called it looks pretty cool 😊
🤣🤣🤣 right at the end too
Game looks fun whats it called and are reviews good
Game looks good what is it
Game looks cool
Not a great start but keep working on your game bud 👍 can't wait to see some improvement
I will try my best thank you 😊
The big thing I'd point out is you should check and see if your chaff is dying while your other units are still moving up. Check out round 3 and watch your spiders and marksmen and see how long they take to get forward. You're actually having two separate fights instead of one unified one. Your crawlers and steel balls vs their entire army followed by your spiders and marksmen vs what's left of their entire army. Thanks to the missiles it doesn't go THAT poorly, but it's not a great result and you're not getting full value. So the absolute best outcome you want is to have your chaff just start peeking in front of your other units right as everyone gets into range. That's pushing it hard and it's best to leave yourself a little safety, but that's kind of the holy grail for positioning. It's something you kind of just have to get a feel for, but you will get that feel provided you pay attention and actively try to eyeball it whenever you place anything. The other thing you really want is you don't just want a solid line of chaff. You want a constant trickle of it. Because as the round goes on, they'll inevitably lose some chaff clear. If they can just wipe all your chaff all at once as soon as it starts, they don't care about that. But if you have crawlers in the back constantly coming through, they're more likely to overkill those crawlers first of all, and they also care a lot more about losing their chaff clear as the round goes on, because your chaff will get more and more effective. So you need some verticality in how you place it too. You want reinforcements constantly coming in. It's better to always have a little chaff coming in than to start with tons in front and have none by the middle of the round. You also overbuilt marksmen. They're kind of... they've got their place in compositions, but they're not actually very good damage for a long time. I think people tend to think of them as like archetypical video game snipers, but they're very bad at that. On the first round they can sometimes be your only source of single target damage, but you really don't want to concentrate like 5 of them like that. It doesn't do much. If you're buying more marksmen, it's usually either a range v range game where both players start far away from each other, or you're just trying to get full coverage from the marksmen across the map. But you can't really rely on them for DPS in games like this. When it comes to tech: be stingy. There's gonna be a lot of things where you'd be like "oh, this would be nice." But you don't always actually need it, and a huge part of this game is literally just budgeting and figuring out which impulses are luxuries and which will actually help you. Aerial marksmen against two phoenixes is a gigantic overreaction. Your marksmen will handle those just fine. Even against two phoenixes and an overlord, it's an overreaction. I think asymmetrical defence isn't great. Generally, asymmetric deployments are an aggro player's privilege. If you're not deploying on the line, you need to cover the whole map or you'll lose tempo badly in early rounds and then later they can just buy a steel ball or something and not care about your tower fortification. The only way you can be okay with that is if you're pressuring their towers in return, which you can't do deploying far back in standard positions. What you CAN do is deploy centrally but with some chaff fairly high up to pull all their units in to the center. There's a position with vertical fangs two squares inward from the tower and four squares up that'll pull absolutely anything they put on the line. This has some of the benefits of the asymm stuff you're trying (concentrating your forces,) while avoiding the weakness of leaving a tower wide open. I'm kind of hesitating to mention this because I want to give you generic advice that's easy to apply right now, and this borders on the edge of that I think. But in the second game, your opponent started with five arclights. That's silly. But it won't look silly if you buy a ton of chaff into it. I have the video paused, but I imagine they're gonna go carry arclight, which means you really just don't want to feed them. It's really important that you win rounds here fairly early so they can't snowball. Chaff is good for your late board, but it's greedy to buy it now when it doesn't help you. You should get heavier, tanky units instead. The rhino you were offered is nice. The badger is pretty good too, and it covers crawler clear of your own if they buy any, something your storms can't really provide that well. Spiders you don't normally want to buy, but they'd be good here. Just something the arcs won't scratch. And then the chaff you started with you should drip feed in order to get what mileage you can out of it. Make sure you use all your deployment slots every round. You can skip them sometimes really late, but it's terrible tempo to not deploy anything, and while it's difficult to explain or understand the effects of tempo, it's pretty easy to just say "very poor tempo = bad." You also don't need to fortify the tower so hard so early. They weren't even really pressuring it. I don't know how you come back from that actually. It's hundreds of gold you just don't have on the board that your opponent does. After that, it really barely matters what you do. The final piece of advice I'll give you isn't really immediately actionable, but it's kind of a long term learning goal or framework. Thinking back to my time in low ELO, it was chaos. Everyone kind of just did whatever and very little made any kind of sense. This isn't a judgment - of course new players aren't going to apply concepts properly. But even now that I'm a much better player than I used to be, when I look at low ELO games, I have no idea what's going on. I try to think about what players should do in the situation and I genuinely don't know. I think if I tried to play reactively, I'd straight up lose a lot of these games because they're just so weird. But if I avoided playing too reactively and just applied good principles, I'd probably roll. Principles like always cover the holy trinity of chaff, chaff clear, and single target damage. Always use my deployment slots. Always drip feed my chaff and make sure it's not too far forward. Always ensure I have just enough single target damage and then put the rest into the chaff war. And most importantly, *build towards a coherent composition without major weaknesses.* That last thing is the big tip, I think.Because I think if you just play stuff that's generically good, you'll just win games because your opponent probably isn't playing something very good, and they'll make mistakes trying to react to it. And it's a long term goal because "just play good units lol" isn't real advice. But I think the way to get there is to force a particular unit or composition every single game. Say "I'm going to build towards fort/mustang this game." Or sledge/boat. Or wraith/phoenix. Pick any two units that seem to cover each others' weaknesses and play like 5 games where they make up the backbone of your composition. Buy chaff and support around them obviously, but make them the focus and see if you can make it work. What beats it? What small adjustments can you make to beat what beats it? Do they actually have a major weakness you didn't anticipate? Now you understand those units better. At high levels, this game is about playing very reactively, but you can't learn to do that at low levels where nobody quite understands what's going on yet. The best way to escape those low levels and also get that understanding for yourself is to remove as many variables as you can and play less reactively, not more. Simplify the game. Focus on one thing at a time. You'll lose a lot of games doing this. But I think you'll get more out of them than you would by just trying to play without a plan or skeleton. And then suddenly it'll click and you'll go on a massive winning streak and you can repeat the process with different units. You can look up mechamonarch for one high level player's opinions on units, their weaknesses, and what they're for. Also, try to play completely without consumables for a while. They're useful tools that have their place, but they can also kind of paper over weaknesses in your strategy, and then four rounds later you lose because of econ and there isn't a clear reason why.
Thanks for that very deep breakdown bud I'm definitely going to read this 3 or 4 times to 100% process it and hopefully adapt my game to it
You are making movement speed related deployment mistakes and are also willy nilly buying consumables (shields and rockets) without actually knowing whether you need them or not. Also too much use of +200 supply. I think learning where to put units and simply not buying any consumables are 2 rules that will easily make you much better.
@@johncreek3145 do you know anyone who posts good strategies builds or explains unit purchase and positioning well on here or anywhere so I could physically see the changes I may need to make to my game? Also thank you for taking time to review and explain we're I'm going wrong I appreciate it ☺️
Brrrrrtttt
