I am an 'Old pUnK' from Royton Oldham. I worked as a 'Toolmaker' throughout the 80's 90's and 00's, at various companies , some in the Stockport area, and I had heard about another pUnK called 'Gizzard' (Colin Mather Jnr) who also played guitar! I eventually met up with him in 2005 at Brinksway Tool Co, ( on my third spell) by this time they had moved to Audenshaw. Col and me were only 6 days apart on birthdays (him 8th March, me on the 14th ) he was a Man United fan ,I am a Man City Season ticket holder, he was very Left wing , I am slightly right of 'Centre' , we were nothing alike , but got on like a house on fire(mainly over Music and life in general) , I was so honoured when he asked me to dj his wedding to his lovely wife 'Sarah' ! He told me I had 'done him proud' I lost touch with him when I was made redundant from Brinksway Tool Co , and moved on, he was never one for ;mobile phones, technology etc , but he was a very intelligent and very witty lad, and a great (self taught ) guitar player, he entrusted me (as I am a dj) with a copy of the vinyl ,compilation LP that featured a 'Nu TricX ' song that I will treasure as a friend ! Went to school with brammers and colin mather, colin died this year of cancer, very sad, played down at smugglers myself with state victims, was on the bill when channel4s the tube came to town, great videos

Thanks for your comments newyork ;) considering we were between 15 and 16 years old when we did this is quite remarkable. Col wrote some fantastic songs at that time but we never really took it seriously enough.
