During your first attempt to begin the "Void Vessel Exploration Operation," you don't get to select a difficulty. It's just hard as hell. It's easy to get to him, and to get through his first attack phase. His last phase when the energy circles are going around, he throws explosives at you, you're getting charged by enemies, he's jumping on your head, and he's immune to your attacks until you take out the Vulgus who are making him immune all while you're running, hopping over energy circles, getting shot, and flying through lives. It bites.
