Today we’re taking a look at the Crave Dual Guard case for the Pixel 9. Thanks to Crave for sending this case over for the video. If you are new to the Crave case brand, they are known for their sleek profile while maintaining some good protection for the Smartphones they support. The Dual Guard case that I have here today is the black color option and it’s composed of two pieces, an inner softer TPU layer and a hard outer TPC casing. The inner layer like I said is very soft, this is going to be providing that cushioning factor when the phone is dropped. I know a lot of people are concerned about the interior part of smartphone cases too, the soft TPU here will basically cradle your Pixel 9 or 9 pro since both phones are compatible with this case and it’s very easy to remove for cleaning when the outer shell has been removed. There’s a good amount of material all around the phone and crucially, this TPU material extends up past the height of the glass of the P9. This will help with screen protection during flat surface drop scenarios. That little bit of material will make it so the glass won’t directly impact the floor or a sidewalk for example because the case will make that contact in flat surface drops. This is a nice little feature to have for sure. In looking at the outer, harder shell for this case, it’s relatively rigid and really compliments that inner TPU layer well. The inner TPU layer is molded for this to fit on and the fit is very precise which is good to see. The entire backing and sides of this outer shell is textured which I like, this should help with wet and dry grip in my opinion. As for camera protection, we have the standard camera cutout design with a built-up bezel. Similarly to the front side of the case, this bezel will help prevent camera and camera lens damage in flat surface drop scenarios because it puts a millimeter or two in between the lens height and flat ground surface. Crave offers a lifetime warranty on their cases which is nice. I think that if you are into thinner style cases because you are more active with your Pixel and you don’t want extra bulk from the bigger style of cases, but you still want some decent protection, the Dual Guard case from crave is a solid option. So... S24 ultra with screen protector vs normal phone without screen protector, they are the same?
I lack the tools for actual scientific testing but generally speaking, yes, that has been my experience. If you apply a typical screen protector to an S24U, it very likely will look just like an S23U for example. I don't personally mind this since I like the protection element, but you definitely loose the anti-reflectiveness with the vast majority of screen protectors from what I read and saw.
@@MobileTested thank you for the response! I am currently deciding Tab S10 Plus or iPad M4 11" as they are priced the same. The anti reflective coating on Tab S10 is null to me since I will use a screen protector for my tab!

Hey! I was looking at the camera lens covers that I have for the S24U and this case, it will probably not work. You would really need to look for a slimmer camera lens cover in order to not interfere with the door and the actual case body itself. Did you just pick up an S24U or thinking about adding some more protection?

Nostalgia is a powerful feeling 😀. I like the UB Mags and UB Pros, but I think my favorite color is red.
I am using these buds since the last 1 year. And so far my experience has been pretty good. The sound quality is good if not great. Microphone while calling is good. Very comfortable in the ears but very slippery. But the lack of anc and Ambient mode is a bummer in my opinion. Google should have provided that. But I got these for a pretty good deal at 54 bucks during sale, so no complaints here.
Hey! I feel the same way, they're a good set of ear buds and the value is high but they definitely could have been better. Still rocking mine but I might upgrade next year, we'll see. Did you also have a Pixel?

@@MobileTested Oh, it's pretty good. The stock android software experience and usability. But the cameras and display are average i would say. Which phone are you using now?
@@yash1827 Interesting, Motorola is on my list of phones to eventually cover. My personal daily driver is the S23 Ultra, its a 512gb version. My daily driver for the TH-cams is a Google Pixel 8. I like the Samsung S23U (and the 24U) but tbh, the Pixel phones are amazing. It's always interesting to see how people really appreciate the stock Android experience but at the same time my affiliate sales data shows Samsung outselling the Pixels by a huge multiple.

I've got the purple S24 Ultra, got it in March. I've tried like 20 cases for it already. I had an Otterbox Defender and the Defender Pro, a Rokform, and a Caseborne, I couldn't find any details on any cases for the S24 Ultra; it's all iPhones until I found your channel. Keep up the great videos, man. I really enjoy them.

ANC, do you mean noise canceling? The Pixel buds A-Series do not have any active noise canceling features as far I know, you would need to upgrade to the pro for that

Will those little pins scratch the phone's camera control button?
It's hard to know for sure if there will or won't be any marks on the camera control button over the life of the iPhone 16 from a case like this. My initial thought is no, it shouldn't scratch the button as there won't be tons of pressure applied and there's many of the pins which should reduce the force each pin exerts on the button (needed for the gesture think).

If you use the belt clip holder, you could probably attach a lanyard to that, but I don't see any good way of attaching one directly to the case itself.

I just got the same torras casing for my iphone 16pm. Do you happen to know if this is military-grade or how many feet can the phone be dropped without damaging the phone?
Hi, I did not see anywhere that it specifically said this case had a MIL test rating. That being said, I do think this should hold up well for everyday type use but, if you think you need really solid protection because of your job, or kids, or you drop stuff like l do, you might want to look for a case that features a thicker TPU bumper along the perimeter with a bezel extending past the screen. Nothing wrong with this case, it's designed to offer protection in a slim profile but there are more protective cases out there if that's your main concern.

I've had this case for less than a year. It offers great protection from drops/falls, but it has terrible dust and water protection. It also doesn't fit screen protectors very well, to the point where i had to modify the front bezel to fit. The kickstand broke in less than a month, so i covered it with HVAC tape. The USB cover also puts a LOT of pressure on the cable, so i had to modify that as well. The pros? It's pretty durable, and has saved my phone numerous times. I've had few issues with wireless charging, no more than i have had with any other brand. It feels nice in my hands, lets me take a more natural posture. If they ditched the kickstand, redesigned the USB plug, and made the bezels just .25-.50mm wider, it would be a solid S-class .
Is the display cover of the case made out of tempered glass or just normal transparent TPU? I will have to remove the case while gaming just to make sure its not glass so that i won't have to worry about dust on the back of the display cover👍🙃
I got the UB Pro Mag, do you think if I buy a tempered glass protector, and take off the plastic protector of the case, if the tempered glass protector will fit on the phone and in the case still?
Hi! Sorry for the delayed response here - it's possible it will fit. I have done this on my S22 and S23 Ultra with the UB Pro cases, but I have not tested this with the iPhone versions. I would say definitely measure the clearance for the tempered glass and email any company you are considering getting the screen protector from. If you end up doing this, please let me know how it works out, I'm curious
You receive the new phone first? Or you gotta send the trade in phone and then you receive it.
Generally yes, when I ordered from the Google store, they sent me the phone first so I could transfer all of my data then after testing the new phone for a few days I packaged the old one up and mailed it back. What phone were you thinking of upgrading to?

Hi! I'm not sure, I didn't test that combo this time around. I did this with my S22 Ultra, using the UB Pro and the WSD glass and it worked well. Sorry for the late reply here, what did you end up doing for a screen protector?
I used trimmed the corners in the plastic frame to fit and not pinch the screen protector😢@@MobileTested

Although the case looks amazing. I do not like cases with built-in screen protectors because of protector doesn't sit directly on the case. When you put the upper frame. I prefer my cases with a frame that has no built-in screen protector that allow you to put whatever protector you want of your choice because cases like this have an opening by the speakerphone where pocket lint will still get in there and you have to remove the frame often to clean it and do to the protector being plastic. It will create a rainbow effect on the screen just like the one I had from tongate which in this location was made of glass now keep in mind, you could use the older s. Pen. As the hinge part has an adapter that sits the new S Pen for the Z Fold 5 and 6. You just remove the adapter and you can set the older s pen right in there
