Hi Shannon,so wonderful that your video showed up for me this morning. So nice to see you. Your story is so helpful and spot on! I’m a nurse and I’ve also been a caregiver. It’s such a complex process. I’m grateful that you and Gregg found eachother. A love story for the ages. Please keep taking care of yourself and keep healing🥰
I have the same issue with my health that Greg lived with, last time I ever meditated was back in high school, I would put an album on the turntable, jimmy or canned heat fried hocky boogie lay back and enter the place between sleep and awake, I was always aware that you can’t meditate your way out of a thinking box, which is what the brain is, and haven’t ever seen a need for it since ,does nothing for you unless you want to believe it does, why would you meditate right after sleeping,a brain doesn’t need that nothingness to start your day, you know how the lights come on in the supermarket, not all of lights come up at the same time, that’s what your brain is like waking up,sparks off different areas until your fully awake, better off sleeping the 20 minutes, fighting consciousness with meditation,is a joke, especially when you get older and can’t sleep that well anyway, what ever works for you is ok,but meditation is a belief system, once my mind realized it, I couldn’t do it anymore.
In my health journey I've found there is a deeper intimacy from illness shared that's even greater than physical intimacy, if you let it happen. Thank you for saying yes to the dance. 🙏🕊️🪶
I totally can understand this because I was caring for several people and one of them was my special needs son who required 24-hour care and I didn't trust anybody else to take care of him. And I have literally slept for over 8 years. All I do is sleep and practice basically, and learn to care for myself. My situation is a little bit different because my son is still here, it's just that I imploded it's like I woke up one day and saw the truth and couldn't do it anymore. There was not much left of me... And I was a huge people pleaser because that's how I survived in the environment I was raised in. So automatically that's what I was attracted to. I was attracted to the same sickness because that made my own sickness comfortable. And In situations like that I could never thrive. I'm still learning that I'm important too. Thank you for this 🎹✨. Good Luck💪🏼🙏🏼
As my dad laid dying from cancer. He wasn't chainstoking. He could respond to me. I asked his permission before I rubbed his feet. It was the only thing I could do for him was rub his feet to comfort him. I am so glad I could serve him at the end.
Sorry for your loss, I was lucky to see ABB play before they were famous, (just before the first album came out), I've been a fan ever since, God bless
Thank you so much for sharing your story. The Allma Brothers are my alltime favorite band. I've seen them and all the variations many times starting in 1979. I had the good fortune of meeting Gregg in June of 2016, after his concert in Rochester, NY. I was sitting next to a man who was a roadie for them 73-76 , who they called Gyro he had an extra backstage pass. We were met by his friend Chank and brought up to the Green room to meet him .Gregg immediately recognized Gyro and was very happy to see him again after many years. I introduced myself and we talked about 20 minutes about mostly small stuff. He was very cool and kind . I will nevet forget it! Peace!
Bless you for staying with your mate in the time of need. My wife decided that "for sickness and in health" wasn't for her and bailed on me an left me with the kids to go find a new mate. It was unfathomable, but my kids stepped up and I teach them to do the right thing in spite of what their mother did.
You were wonderful helping him and being there for him ! He faced tremendous struggles in life like most of us do ! But the ones who really care bolster our fight! I like Gregg Allman a lot What I think great too he was practical ! When his brother said screw high school he said "no" I need my diploma not sure this band thing gonna work! I love that! And after brother died " let's keep going before we end up on street" " We arnt going to find another set of guys who gets along like we do" Practical stuff! I love it!
That was amazing. Your husband spoke of religious beliefs in his book. Would love to hear more about that - I think his turnaround has impact on a global scale due to his status as a cherished artist.
Shannon-I’m so thankful to finally meet the love of Gregg’s life. We are truly grateful that you are sharing these intimate moments and memories of his love life with you. Gregg had a profound influence on me as a musician throughout my life. I named my first daughter “Melissa” and my license plate says “MNITRDR”. I have played guitar for 42 years but about ten years ago I bought a Hammond B3 and it’s because I wanted to keep his legacy alive. There is nothing I would rather do than get behind that organ and sing “Whipping Post” or “Midnight Rider”. I went to the Big House in Macon earlier this year and I could feel the spirits hovering around me of all who have passed from the band. I went out to RoseHill to the gravesite and just spent some quiet time with Gregg and talked a while as if we were the closest of friends. I truly loved that man and we will keep his memory alive through our music. It’s hard to believe it’s been almost eight years since he crossed over to the other side. May God bless you the rest of your life for the love you gave your husband.
Soul mates forever, so inspiring and thank you for sharing, a very peaceful feeling to know that you were there for , and with him.. He touched millions of us through his music..
I remember reading an interview from one of the musicians surrounding the Allman Bros but I can't remember which musician it was now but he brought you up and said how great you were for Greg and he was really grateful. My impression from reading that was that you were really loved within the Allman Bros community.
I have no words for all the wonderful things you did for Gregg. Thank you so much. Please do take care of yourself and enjoy life as you move forward. Lifelong Allman Brothers fan with my own ABB tribute band.
I’m so sorry that you are not experiencing daily life with your beloved husband. Sharing the reality as much as you have about caring for him is opening up to us a fragile & private space. We send love also! He is and always will be special as a musician and a man who was so strong. What a lovely lady you are. God bless you. Anna
My good lord, Gregg’s voice and musicianship have been a guiding light since 1970. His voice transcended singing…..it’s a direct link to the voice of his soul. I’m very thankful I was able to see the band several times. Sorry for your loss….and all us brothers out here miss him too.
That was a very powerful message. Sorry for your loss but that message will help people going through what you went through. Thanks for sharing. And I think you are a special woman.
My wife and I were caregivers for my mom and I can relate to the stress and pain that comes with the commitment. We are huge fans and you are a great person for being there.

Thanks for posting Shannon I hope you are going well and like so many i totally loved Greg as a musician. He just touched me so much as a singer. Be kind to yourself...
My wife and i were plant based for a few years and after not seeing the health results we were told we should be have and being sick weak and frail. I was pulling my back out all the time, loosing weight, and sick once a month. One day we had some compounding information lead us to give up plant based and go lion diet/carnivore. High fat high protein low carb most no carb or sugar. Its been a couple of years now and our health mentally and physically was restored on this diet. My mom went carnivore about 3 months after we did and she got off of all her meds after a few months. Thanks to dr ken berry and dr Paul salindino and other testimonies of thousands that we researched. Plants can be good medicine but the human body wasn't designed for must of us to live on plants. RIP Greg Allman. Thank you for the story.
We also have been alcohol free for almost 5 years and have developed an insane sweet tooth in place of not drinking. We haven't really battled alcohol since we quit. Its the sweets. The brain doesn't know the difference between processing alcohol or sugar. Its all one in the same. So removing the booze was easy. Removing the sugar is what we actually did mostly and that addiction is way harder to break. We fight the urge for sweets and never think about booze. We are on the journey of higher consciousness and spirituality which we have found ways to have the strength to resist the sweets. We consume a small fraction of what most Americans consume daily. It has helped us tremendously.
I'm so thankful he experienced true love with you. I've been a life long fan. Any and all you share is so important. Thank you for sharing. Please share more when you can. You are a true inspiration and so true. God bless you.
As a nurse I can say that the body keeps score. Take care of number one so you can take care of your family. As a critical care nurse, I can recall pouring my energy into my patients and family’s that when I needed it I found myself empty and had a mini breakdown. I learned to make sure I kept some of that in reserve for myself. I too developed PTSD after a serious accident and I am still trying to unlock the secrets. Did you realize you called Duane Gregory? Toward the end when you talked about memorizing his medications

😮You have a gift for healing and communication. I am also Medically Complex & can imagine a book from you would help many!🙏🕊️🪶
Greg Allman looks a lot like Robert Plant. I don't know if that means anything to you, but I just had the comment for you. Sorry for your loss 😢
The anger! I think it’s time for me to start meditating. 😢
I forgot- when did Greg pass away?

I'm learning how to thrive.
HE DIED IN 2017. THIS WAS CHERS HUSBAND.
She was Gregg’s wife! Gregg had 1000x more talent than cher....

If you don't take care of your wellness, you will end up taking care of your illness. Blessings.

You could be his grand daughter, loooooools that's a record gold dig!
So this vid was about you, not Greg
You’re missing the point, aren’t you? She’s talking about a beautiful but exhausting experience she had.
Thank you so much for taking good care of your Gregg! May he Rest in Peace! Please take care of yourself and stay pretty! God Bless you!😇🙏
