Hey. Not a bad attempt, bro! I would have you as a drummer as I am playing this tune on the ol' Rickenbacker 12-string any day. IMHO, the mix you are playing along with is THE definitive one. It's just The Who with the Ivy League doing backing vocals. Very clean--no maracas, tambourines or anything. And nothing is mixed down to the point of disappearing. Keith Moon's entire drumming performance is here. All the cymbal hits and a clear hi-hat rhythm. Not so on earlier mixes. Having said all of that I have a couple of observations to share. Firstly, listen to Moon's hi-hat work again. There is a choke-open-choke rhythm going on with the "straight eights" on the fourth and eighth beat. I will note that the "open" position of the hi-hat is just enough to make for a accent. Second, the right hand changes to the ride cymbal at the beginning of the second verse..."Dizzy in the head......" Guitar and bass players like me really appreciate a drummer that can play solid like you do and can change up some with what they are doing. The Loon was great at that....as all great drummers are. The same goes for we guit players! :)
