Paragliding 129: Very strong wind and thermals on the Plose - Most sketchy flight so far
Very sketchy conditions. Very strong wind and thermals. The wingtips keep collapsing left and right non-stop. I basically couldn't move forward without speed-bar. But with speed-bar, the wing cap started collapsing even more frequently. As I had a lot of issues with my wing during this flight, I handed it in for inspection and trim-tuning afterwards. If you look at the cap, you can see that the...

This flight pissed me off majorly, haha. Tandem dude told me to fly to highest point of Plose, rise above 3.000m, then switch over to the Astjoch behind Lüsen, then rise above 3.000m again and you can go switch over to "Pfunderer Berge". Little did we know that Astjoch was a literal nightmare on that particular day. Even though I managed to get above 3.100m on Plose and was easily able to switc...

Ah... beautiful. I'll subscribe carefully.
Warning: Do not land there unless you want the farmer to punch you. I slept on the mountain for a very early morning flight, attempting to fly in the first glimmers of sunshine.
So this is a funny one: Was happy to have the two tandems to fly with, had a great time, then noticed that the two of them were rapidly descending to land. I thought it's because of the sketchy-looking sky and decided to follow them. But turns out, one of their passengers puked 🤮🤣
Talked to the tandem dudes on the phone prior to starting. I would not have started without their feedback due to the dark clouds (and occasional audible thunder far, far away). But they were right - conditions were still very fine. Around two hours later the thunderstorm managed to pass over the dolomites mountain range and it rained and hailed very, very heavily, at which point I was happily drinking beer with them.
dip dip dip dipbb dib dib.. landed
the take off alone was fantastic looking experience
Even the boots are a Silverio ripoff
This is not an official landing site. Do not land there or the farmer will not be happy.
looks 10/10
This went on for another hour or so, but the camera battery died :D Can highly recommend Grünstein for never-ending evening soaring sessions. It's a lot of fun to follow the hikers up the mountain trail. 10/10.
Lovely place. Thanks for sharing 👍👍
Very small collapse left at 0:59, followed by a larger collapse left PLUS two small consecutive collapses on right right. Lost quite a bit of height, decided not to risk a tree-landing and u-turned my way down into the nozzle, just above shrubbery. Sub-optimal wind direction caused bad turbulences in the nozzle. Also flying my M/L wing near lower weight limit, which makes it more prone to collapses. Should have waited more patiently for the south-wind-tendencies to die down but overall happy with how I was able to handle it.
Great. Particle Cannon rulez. Map name?
It's the final boss of [AOD] Cobalt Rush v2

Absoluter Pfusch.
UNVERANTWORTLICH! - Absolut katastrophal!
Very neat! How long were you in the air? Thanks for taking along the camera, it's really fun to ride along!
I guess around 40 minutes. Thanks for stopping by!
Sadly the battery died... 1.430m was the highest point. Above 1.200m it was basically impossible to get back down without heavy and constant spiraling which I would have enjoyed a lot if I wouldn't have needed to pee so urgently haha. People laughed their asses off when threw off my equipment and rushed to the nearest bush immediately after finally landing.

AOD Cobalt Rush 2.0 coming soon +++ ?
I've been working on it since the last 2 years and all 30 waves are finished but I am lacking the energy to finish it up right now.
But yes, eventually a new AOD tournament on a fully new map will happen.
