Try to accumulate some runes to upgrade your level at a site of grace, also you can get more of those level one smithing stones to upgrade weapons by just killing soldiers at the beginning although there are much better ways to get them ultimately. Also try a different weapon than the short spear I swear it’s worth it

This has been very enjoyable content. Very relatable struggles and good humor. So glad you finally started using Torrent. It definitely helps to check your inventory and test out new items more often when you get those annoying "press E" notifications. It will help you not miss new, useful/powerful items. I can't wait to see you pick up the map fragments to fill in the map details.

While I do like the videos, my only complaint is that you don't go to round 100 to see if you can beat the bad. Although at the same time, I wonder how many of these challenges would have you die to ddts.

At a site of grace you should select the talk to melina option and accept her terms. That should give you a horse for travel.

Don't want to spoil anything, but I would recommend continuing to Explore the open world for a bit. First though, go back and rest at the first ruined church you found church grace next to "Santa" NPC at night. Also map will get better if you find the map fragments (strange marker on your map indicates where to find them)

I highly recommend to go back to Limgrave first, you'd want to be around lvl 30 at least before leaving Limgrave, also one more tip, go south first

going to Liurnia locked you out of an npc dialogue (one of the things the guy with the long comment said last video) Just saying this because I did the same thing in my first playthrough and I wondered for like 20 minutes why I couldn't trigger that NPC encounter.

beating it before january 15th is possible, game takes like 100-150 hours if you explore thouroughly, but you'll need to play more every day.

You explored in the wrong direction for your level. I recommend you go back. At the start of the episode near the knights the map for the first area is there in the middle of the road.

Don’t!! attack NPC’s bro…..LOL….Unless it’s absolutely necessary. You will find out later what I mean by “necessary.” You should just start over Homey…..LOL…Killing White Mask Varre literally eliminates a late-game NPC and will keep you from entering late game areas early, as his quest-line is no more, once you kill him. Not to mention White Mask Varre leads to the best rune farm in the game. As I said, do not attack those that are not aggressive to you, it’s like rule #1 in the Soulsborne Universe…haha

not late, i started playing 2 months ago

right, probably doing a bit much but I made a little list of tips, organized in vague categories. I tried to make it as spoiler-free as possible so you can still enjoy discovering the game yourself mechanics that make the game easier: - take Melina's accord; this gives you the ability to use runes to level up, which means that even if you haven't gone anywhere, if you're able to pick up your runes after you die and make it back to a grace, you can get a little stronger. She also gives you a faster way to get around. You should be able to talk to her again by sitting at one of the 2 graces next to the ruins you put your marker in. (I think specifically the one she showed up at originally) - keep locking on against singular enemies. you'll get the hang of it - I'd advise to switch weapons. The spear isn't awful but it's just not very beginner friendly; small hit-boxes, low poise/stance damage, sort of slow. just try out some of the weapons you find and see what feels nice. (if you value your sanity, stay away from the flail) - weapon attribute requirement: you can see these below and to the right of the damage stats of a weapon, next to their scaling. While 2-handing a weapon your strength is effectively multiplied by 1,5 which means you can 2-hand that sword but not 1-hand (you can equip weapons that you do not meet requirements for, they will just take a lot of stamina, do less damage and the ash of war (the special attack that costs FP (blue bar) will do practically nothing) - based on your current play-style you'd benefit a lot from 2-handing whatever weapon you choose to use as you're not really using the shield or the magic, and you'll just get higher damage 2handing. According to reddit, the input to 2-hand is "E + left mouse button" (2-hand your main weapon) or "E+ right mouse button" (offhand weapon, shield or casting tool in this case). - try to really take in the information in the tutorial boxes that pause your game. feel free to ignore the npc's yapping all you want if you don't care about the story but those boxes really try to teach mechanics that you'd hate to miss. Where to go? what to do? - return to the church with the merchant after having accepted Melina's accord and look around to find another npc waiting for you. they will give you something that might really help in a fight. (maybe this first as it's not a fight or anything, jsut getting some stuff) - crafting is not very important in this game but you can make some fun consumables with it to do all sorts of things. If you want to try it, you have to buy the crafting kit from Kalé the merchant (in the church) to unlock the mechanic and then you can get more recipes by buying and finding crafting books (Kalé has a couple on sale already but there are a lot more out in the world) - the ruined camp with enemies that you marked is worth thoroughly exploring, it holds a map piece and another key-item that introduces unlocks a minor mechanic. - the statue that was pointing somewhere was pointing to a door in the cliffs that you just missed, might be worth checking it out again at some point. it leads to a small self-contained linear area, while also challenging, you might find it a bit less overwhelming as it's a more linear and straightforward challenge than a camp swarming with guards. - needles to say, explore, you can treat the big castly gate as a "once I'm ready for it" type of place or you can dash through it once you have a horse. the real "come back when you're ready" moment is quite obvious and just a little later on the main path. But honestly, you can do anything you want, go anywhere else before progressing on, take your time and have fun. The game is full of optional smaller hidden dungeons, caves, mines etc, that are sometimes easy to miss so keep your eyes open, especially near/in ruins or around cliffwalls (that's where most of the entrances are) (but don't be scared to miss some, it's pretty much impossible to find every single one on a first playthrough without a wiki. And you really don't need to either). the open world itself also has a lot to do with all the enemy encampents, different field-bosses etc. finally, minor tips&tricks - don't have to pass time to set ur savepoint, just sitting at a grace is enough. some areas of the open world will have slightly different enemies (bats mostly) and there are some hidden open-world-bosses that only show up at night, the pass time mechanic is just there so you can choose to seek those out or avoid them - you can stop skeletons from coming back to life by hitting their corpse after the kill (a single hit is enough). if they don't start glowing white or stop glowing white, they're not coming back anymore. you can also see that you only get runes when you finish off the corpse. just like in zombieland "rule nr2: Double Tap" - you might've figgured this out but the only thing you lose upon death is your runes, everything else, including consumables and crafting materials stay. - The consumable golden rune is like a pouch of extra runes, they don't count towards your rune total until you break the pouch by using it. Aslong as it's not used, you don't lose it by dying so it's usually best to hold onto it untill your in need of a couple extra runes to buy something or reach the next level and pop it on the spot - on the map, you can only set 5 of those blue beacons, but you can set up to 99 (I think) custom markers as well, you won't see those in the world but you can use them to mark an area that you want to come back to, or a boss that's too hard that you want to revisit once you've leveled up. Finally, I hope this list helps and doesn't seem overbearing, I really enjoyed the first 2 episodes and love your dedication and patience to progress. your mindset and readiness to learn slowly is really nice to see and the best way to enjoy this game. I made this last partially because I'd hate to see you get burnt out on the game after too many sessions seemingly going nowhere.
