thanks for the feedback @happyplace444, I tried to keep the balance, i.e. leave both music and sounds of the city on? I found it might look a bit dull without the music, what if I kept the music volume slightly lower to prioritise the original sounds?

look at the full version video, he started blinking right before I started overtaking him th-cam.com/video/njnW61Gwu9E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=v8bdx1SQJ9yYrdaG&t=66 (at 1:08 of the video), he had a broken line which means that strictly speaking he should have given way to all cars in the right lane before merging... it's a tricky situation, my bad that I hadn't noticed the left lane ends sign in front of the trucks lane and the truck had kind of been blocking the sign from the view. what should I have done in this case? slow down abruptly and let someone else behind me drive into me? a couple of years back I got booked for not keeping left, so I try and keep left as much as possible -- this accident clearly demonstrates that keeping left isn't alwasy the best option.

it's a tricky situation; look at the related, longer version video of the same episode @hunterbowtell3640 (th-cam.com/video/njnW61Gwu9E/w-d-xo.html), he started blinking just before changing the lane when I was already overtaking him, not earlier; my bad was that admittedly I hadn't noticed the left lane ends sign, which he had kind of been blocking from the view and it was his lane that was ending, not mine, strictly speaking he should have allowed me to overtake him as per the merging rules in NSW - he had a broken line on the right which means he should give way, but he kept pushing forward and I had to change lanes swiftly as a result; lucky there were no cars in the right lane... it's very tricky, couple of years ago I got booked for not keeping left, so in this situation, my only two options were to either slow down abruptly and there were cars behind me, or move to the right lane, which strictly speaking isn't in line with keeping left. my take is that he shoud have started blinking long before merging, not right at the moment I started overtaking him...
