Love it!! 🎉
Thanks, Jesse! It's an amazing interview with Angel!
Would densifier help to mitigate cracking?
No densifier will help with mitigate cracking. Some product can slow the drying out of the surface which. could minimally enhance curing but not an appreciable amount. Densifier is all about surface hardness. Cracking is mix design, placement techniques and reinforcement
Do you recommend putting a sealer on a slab after it has been densified? If so, what type of sealer would you recommend? Thanks. :)
One of those, "well it depends." I recommend sealing concrete but it has to match the application. Acrylics are inexpensive and easy to apply but minimal wear and protection. UV stability, enviroment and the things you are protecting the concrete from are important variables when choosing a sealer. This especially true when considering a penetrating versus a film forming sealer.
Cool!
Thank you!

Awesome vid. About using densifiers as curing agents. What about doing a spiff coat after cure? I've done both sodium and lithium, but we've had great results doing a spiff coat. I think Ashford Formula has it as an option as their application process.
not a huge fan of the spiff coat. It does enhance the look but I am not convinced it really adds that much protection. I tend to fall in the the it comes off as easy as it goes on camp. Densification is a chemical reaction, you need enough material and time for it to occur.
Good info . Ty
Hi, great video. i'm wondering if the colloidal silica densifiers (e.g. densi crete) have greater waterproofing properties than other densifiers?
not nearly as much as putting it out correctly and in sufficient quantities. Densifiers all work when put down the way they were designed.
Great Podcast....great content.

Great content! Very thoughtful
I have 3 pickleball courts that have a broom finish on part of the court and a trowel finish on on part of the court. I was going to use a shot blaster to go over both so I can paint the courts. I thought using #170 shot to smooth out the sweep finis and ruff up the trowel finish would work. We use an 36" squeegee to apply 2 coats of paint to the court. Would the shot blasting work for this application?
You could but I think a grinder would get the surface more even. An aggressive grit like 16 would leave enough traction for the surface. We do this often on sidewalks. Where are you located?
@@chadgill2236 We are in Washington State on the east side of the state. The paint that we will be using has 80 mesh sand in the mix so we will get the roughness we need through the paint. I like the idea of the shot blaster for the cleanness of the clean up. The concrete is in good shape. My concern is more that the paint will stick and last. I have an adhesive spray to put on the court before I paint it. What do you think?
