black forest ceramics

Is it worth spending over £120 on the platinum range of the Black Forest ceramics? It is crazy, but i think it was worth it. PS it is not a sponsored video. I paid for it with my own £££. However, if Black Forest would like to sponsor my channel in the future, I would be more than happy.
"scientific" test of my new gas heater

It is my first it my product review. To battle British weather and keep temperature in my workshop half-decent, I have bought this 4.2kW geepas gas heater. I used it on a few colder days and I can report, that it is doing the trick. I lost a few layers and even my wooly hat!

chalk holder for the magnetic blackboard
มุมมอง 3711 หลายเดือนก่อน
#ideas #blackboard #magnetic #chalk #offcuts #office #diy #woodworking It is my project that I have completed spring time in 2023 to complement my magnetic blackboard at home. We were missing a chalk holder, hence I have used an off-cut of the English Plain to match the blackboard frame. After a few months of using, I find it good size for what we need - approximately 15cm wide. Thank you for w...

Chopping board - Iroko and English Plane
Check out Charnley forest stones as a honing stone. Yes, use the diamond stones to sharpen, then hone (final process) on the Charnley. A Norton fine might suffice instead of the Charnley. Stick at it.
That is old school. Only second hand around (ebay). As suggested earlier, I need to venture into higher grit stones to get better results. Thank you for the comments!
The 1200 grit stone isn’t fine enough to get the final polish that you need to cut paper. You should get a 6000 or 8000 stone. I use water stones. Diamond stones are good for getting the bevel established, after the 1200 then go to a 6000 or 8000 for the secondary bevel. Finally a few passes on the strop.
Thank you for your comment! Next time I will add extra 6000 and higher grit. Good tip
👍
Screwing the inserts into wood is much easier when using an electric drill with the fitting hex insert, because you can push while screwing in, so chip out is less likely to occur.
I couldn't help but to keep looking at your beautiful Arboga drill press ;-). By the way, you should look at a random orbit sander.....
Amazing 😍
Love it!
Nice 👍
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌
😊 very nice
This looks stunning
Nice job 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
👍
👍
Just as well, you're stinking rich. With all that resin.😅
I find the installing thread inserts it helps to use a electric drill in slow gear so it is easier to push on the insert while the drill does the "screwing in" part. Just my 2 ct.
👍
AMAZING CANT WAIT FOR PART 2

I heard that squarespace might be a good option for a website with all the bells and whistles for a startup business ;-). You might give it a go.
I have opted for google sites. still free. square space was my second choice.
I hope you got it for free ;-).

Good video shame about the outcome but I’m sure you won’t be making that mistake 😢again
it still breaks my heart when i see this mess. Never again!!
I like the concept of looking underneath :-).
It gives you an overview of what to expect overall!
Nice 👍
Love it. ⏰
Temendous!
Well, that's a heart breaker. You have planned to do that job all year and it's rectification has taken up your summer. I can imagine how you feel. Your tenacity and ingenuity in attempting rectification is truly admirable and I am sure you will eventually overcome. What a tragedy. And you have put me off any hobby jobs involving resin. Completely...
I'm not sure why I missed your comment... This experience was heartbreaking, but my motto still stands: What doesn't kill you makes you stronger! Hopefully, at some point, you might get tempted to mix some resin and timber I have just completed an interesting project - a wall clock. Check it out th-cam.com/video/Y5LwVDfAVgw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UPqRt7hTIEXaafDV
Blimey Jurek, what a mess. But so satisfying to see it finally come good. A real test of your tenacity, ingenuity and just pig-headed determination. We’ll done, son👍
2You could have used tar, the effect would have been similar ;-) - my wife's advice ;-).
Now you know, why I am not a fan of resin ;-). Did you (by any chance) ask the manufacturer if waiting or adding something else will eventually just make it hard? Maybe it would have been a good idea to follow Def Leppard's song ("Pour some sugar on me") with a slight change .....and pour a little Viagra onto this resin....maybe it would help ;-)
no luck with this. once it is a wrong ratio, it is a wrong ratio from chemical perspective and resin will never properly cure. i was hoping, that more hardener will do the trick... nope, it doesn't. it was my first question to glasscast, when purchasing more resin
Jurek! nie jesteś pierwszy. In the former time we have used poliurethane paint without hardener (?! due to opinion of salesman ...) all the best Chris & Kate
thanks for sharing the downs as well as the ups!
Great job 🙂
Nice 👍
To be honest I think your chisels are pretty good, as long as you can get them really sharp you won't see much improvement in other much more expensive chisels.
They are sharp, but they are fairly basic. Hence, I would just fancy something nicer. Probably, you are right that I would not notice the difference in performance. A nicer set is on a "wish list", but it is not a necessity...
Jerry, I never supposed, that you stay wood-Master, really artist. Luna also v.helpfull!!! All the best Chris
Thank you for the help with the selection of the VFD! Much appreciated It's just frustrating that in the UK, 3phase at home doesn't exist
Few ideas: 1. the threaded inserts - you might consider getting a fitting thread cutter to cut a little thread into the wood and then with glue drive the inserts into the wood, and also use a power drill to drive them in, because you can apply pressure at the back of the power drill and also a little fillet halps with driving them in, 2. you might consider using a thin layer of wax in the mould to reduce the force required to take the piece out once the resin has cured. Even though I am not a fan of resin/wood furniture I think it turned aut really really nice! Did you make the legs by yourself?
thank you for the feedback legs are "off the shelf", potentially in the future I will explore making my set of legs. More toys needed - welder...
👌
Wow! Amazing 👏
Thank you! Cheers!
Are you selling that chopping board
It was my first go for a home use... Maybe next time I will make it for sale
The length is about right I would say. I also do like Osmo Top Oil, the finish is very durable. I would say that this board is a little on the thick side of boards, but my guess is, you wanted to use as much wood as possible - at least this is w!hat I do ;-). Waiting for the dinning table :-)!
Thanks for the feedback The dining table is on the way
Nice :-) 👍
Thanks 😀
This looks amazing , you put so much effort into this . Can’t wait to see more .
