mounting a IH 234 corn picker
มุมมอง 19K11 ปีที่แล้ว
here is a video of how to mount and dismount a IH 234 2 row corn picker. it is set on 30 inch rows... tractor is a 706 gas
Do you have an email that i could use to contact you about this disk. I just bought one looking for some more info. Thanks John
Just got my great grandpa disc out of the woods didn't know what I had till I saw your video on this disc love it
If those are 20" disc's I would remove them and weld them into discada's and sell some of them for a decent profit and grill in one of them on a rocket stove.
This takes me back to the harvest seasons past i have done this so many times it almost became automatic. Best mounted picker made
Got mine 30years ago, had a tree growing in the middle of it. Got it for $65, me and my dad took off the eight bolts with those rusty square nuts, came apart in 5 mins, owner came out, couldn't believe how fast we got it out. Still have it, use it behind Case SC. Those old engineers must've grown up on a farm, easiest disc to adjust.
Old iron works better than the new in many ways.
Could you do a video of them in operation? would love to see.
My father put that picker on his 560 alone many times. Switched husking bed and sheller multiple times a day as needed
A lot easier to mount and unmount than I thought they were.
I rebuilt one of these over quarantine. It's the 9 foot version. Had to remake the tounge, straighten one axle and replace all of the blades. Does a really good job in plowed ground. Not so much on anything else. I also found some transport trucks for it on Facebook, they're a fairly rare item from what i can gather, never seen another set in person.
The camera work is right up there with the work done by people who chase Big Foot. .
I just pulled my Grandfathers old disc out of the barnyard last week ! It's very similar to yours. Thumbs up to you for thinking about restoring it.It's part of our heritage and should be saved . Mark.
Is the picker made to go to 30 inch rows or did you modify it? How tight is the unit between the rows, do the wheels or husking unit bend the next rows over? Thanks for the video and information.
it only picks wide row corn. our rows are 36".
Thanks for the information.
one day I will im sure
Good looking disk buddy are u going to restore it
farmall51 the SC handles it actually pretty nice!! bu the C is just about in need of a overhaul!! but it still pushes cultivators just fine!
Looks like it would give a Super C a good pull . Nice
