DIY Folding Squat Rack - Hinges & J-Hooks
I receive a huge amount of requests for more information on how I made the hinges for my garage folding rack (watch the squat rack build here: Folding Home Garage Rack/Gym Build - DIY Squat and Bench Rig
th-cam.com/video/gHFf6mXLz9s/w-d-xo.html)
Hinges (link to design below):
So basically, it's just 2 pieces of steel the same width as the arms, welded at 90 degrees to a base plate. Very importantly, you'll see I left a 5-10mm space above and below the arm, this is what allows you to lift the upright ever so slightly to swing it against the wall.
Overall dimensions:
Uprights: 2500mm
Arms: 1050mm
Width apart: based on a standard Olympic barbell - 1100mm Hole spacing: 50mm for squat, 25mm for bench press
Design:
You can get your hands on my design files which include all of the major dimensions here: www.barbellsbbqbeer.com/product-page/squat-rack-design-files
Or, if you just don't have the time or tools, you could simply order one online through a reputable gym equipment supplier. I can highly recommend Bulldog Gear's rig and equipment in general. DIY Cable Railing Build
มุมมอง 2533 ปีที่แล้ว
A cable railing is a great way to surround an area for safety while being fairly unobtrusive to the view. But they can be expensive so I decided to make my own using steel uprights, galvanised steel cable and a few odds and ends that I found at my local hardware store. What you will need: Materials: 60 x 40mm rectangular tubing 60 x 5mm flat bar Galvanised steel cable - 4mm Eyebolts - 6mm Thimb...
DIY Folding Desk - Easy & Stylish

Working from home sucks if you don't have a proper surface to work on! But space is a premium so a multi-purpose desk that folds away into a stylish wall unit is a good idea! This is a really simple project (it honestly is). Required: Drill Circular saw Wood Screws Wood Glue Ruler Measuring tape
DIY Muscle-up Rig Build - Ring and Bar / Pull up Bar
มุมมอง 8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Until I built this rig, I could only do bar muscle-ups. It was awesome to finally have a rig at home that I could practice with. Fortunately, I got my first ring muscle-up while testing out the rig for the first time. If anything, I would extend the rig out by another 15cm or so just to give me an extra bit of distance from the wall. But otherwise, it works just great and is super solid! 3"x3" ...
DIY Built-In Barbeque Braai

There's nothing quite like cooking meat over an open flame. I bought a house that had a cavity for a built-in barbeque but not the barbeque itself. So in around 6 hours, I built one which, would likely cost less than half the retail price all in. Steel supplied by SteelBank. "Barbeque" = "Braai" in South Africa 3mm thick mild steel used. 40x40mm angle iron (2mm thickness) 20mm flat bar (2mm thi...

I'm surprised with some of the negative reviews. I was so impressed with the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMwYg0MOXR4M-oGeyBsNSYe1aPOUoRH6D cage that I got the lat pulldown attachment that goes with it. It is equally outstanding. I don't have one complaint other than putting it together is a job. The instructions and packaging of the parts are very well designed and organized. Also, I stripped and damaged the pull down cable the first day, admitting it was my stupid fault, and they quickly replaced it at no charge. I'm 6'5, 280lbs and fit in the cage just fine. Glenn B

You could add threaded leveling feet. Unfold the rack, unscrew the feet to get firm contact with the ground. Just use a big enough diameter of bolt to support the weight
