Total fucking class act! JLV is a bad motor scooter!!
I just wanted to match the faces with the podcast. Thanks for this video lol
Greatest Guitar Brothers! Very touching!
I really lost it when Jimmie talked about having his family bc of his little brother!
hairy chest?
Janna stated she thought it was bizarre that #1 was on display at the exhibit. Did she not understand why his fans would want to see it? She also complained there was no collaboration with her. But since she sued Stevie’s family to collect from his estate, Jimmie undoubtedly figured she wasn’t interested in collaborating with him. Why did she go to the exhibit? Was she seeking praise or recognition? When she visited there, she became angered to discover she was not mentioned anywhere, except for the coptic crosses both she and Stevie had. In retaliation, she turned her focus toward criticizing Jimmie’s arrangement of the exhibit and finding fault with it. She said it was just “stuff” and nothing denoted Stevie’s personality or virtuosity. She mentioned there were some handwritten lyrics on display, which would show his thoughts. But what would she have done any differently? She also stated “So you think you can just rewrite history”. If she thinks Jimmie intentionally omitted her name from the exhibit, she needed to understand that the exhibit was about Stevie and his musical legacy. It wasn’t intended to be about her, this time.
To me SRV best most natural player i evever saw he made it look easy as breathing .....and its not!!!! He was a natural god given
STEVIE WAS THE MOST HUMBLE, GENTLE, SOUL, AND IT WAS GENUINE! HE TRIED TO DEFLECT COMPLIMENTS TO JIMMIE. HAVE YOU HEARD MY BROTHERS BAND THE FABULOUS THUNDERBIRDS? WAS A STANDARD RESPONSE. I HAD THE HONOUR OF SEEING HIM 4 TIMES IN HOUSTON AT THE BEGINNING OF HIS FAME. SUCH A GENTLEMAN. ALWAYS SMILING AND DEFLECTING PRAISE! THAT WAS STEVIE, I MISS YOU STEVIE!
Brought me to tears.
Heart wrenching Jimmie.

Live too far away to visit, this is on my bucket list.. Does make the eyes glass over 30+ years later. Only the best die young. Rock on SRV & DT.
Man, what a nice speech....RIP, SRV!!!
Love Love Love the Morbid Gals!!!! I listen to them every day all day at work lol
When I get to heaven... I am going looking for that Bad Motor Scooter.
“Mini mini mini mini mini morbid mini morbid mini morbid mini morbiiiiiiidddd *giggling”
Chris Layton, Stevie’s drummer for Double Trouble, said in an interview a few years after this that he thought their performance of Texas Flood was “really good” and that he had fun playing with Jimmie and everyone again. He also mentioned being impressed with John Mayer, and that he thought Jimmie’s and John’s speeches were fantastic. I think this was sort of a reunion for them all-Chris had just literally arrived from Europe where he’d been touring with Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Tommy Shannon had retired, Reese Wynans had moved to Nashville, Jimmie had been touring, their old friend Doyle Bramhall II had been working with Clapton, Austin native/JLV mentee Gary Clark, Jr.’s star was rising. The whole experience was emotional but ultimately positive.
they are both bad motor skooters
Wonderful 🙏🥲🎼
Stevie to me was the greatest 🎼🎸🙏
Glad you are ok now Jimmy!
Wow . That made me cry . Great family . Legends
Father and son's
Beautiful acceptance speech from Jimmie (John Mayer actually inducted SRV/DDT with a heartfelt acceptance speech of his own). For those wondering, the acceptance speeches of Chris Layton, Reese Wynans, and Tommy Shannon immediately preceded Jimmie's and can be found elsewhere on YT. I love the supportive thumbs-up that Reese Wynans gives Jimmie following his speech.
Tommy, Chris and Reece should've been able to say a few words, more so than Mayer, they, especially Tommy and Chris, knew him best, they were so close!
Everyone in DT spoke, but their acceptance speeches aren’t in this clip.
@Jean Gilliland that's good, would love to hear what they said, I'll looking it up !
R.i.p. Dimebag
Brothers are a different thing. Ya get info from one on the other. Better if they we're treated the same by the parents.. He isn't going into the hall. Yet it's him telling it in the 2nd part. Got ta love it.
Wow, this made me tear up ngl I felt the pain in Jimmie’s voice when he talked about losing Stevie
A terrific speech and tribute. These two brothers are among the best to ever do it. They helped bring the Blues back into the spotlight in the 80s.
Sweet!
I think I have all SRV albums, and what was impressive is the SRV, on one of his live albums, talked about South Africa and Apartheid before everyone else got on that band wagon. Before his time, a legend in his own time, and gone too soon. The day my music died was the day SRV died in the helicopter crash.
I first heard and set my eyes on SRV on an Austin City Limits broadcast on public TV, I have never lost my passion for his sound ever since, my adult daughters are great guitarists in the same vein as the Vaughns. They do a family-style version of the Vaughn Brothers instrumental of passing a single guitar between each other as the number progressed. The girls' still share the blue metallic National Duo-Cone steel guitar I bought for them on their 14th b-day, they play "Life By The Drop" on my b-days, what could be better...
Mr Vaughan. I seen you in a small town in west Virginia called Summersville. I k ow that wasn't easy. Been a long time since I watched it
Wow I never knew SRV died on the same day as his father 4 years after!
The only one who could have done this, he should have done Albert king too. Not joke mayer that was despicable…
Such talent and in fluence...you both have lead blues and guitar playing to such levels. Passion knows no bounds :)
If You thought he was good back then, just imagine what he could play today..he was just like Randy Rhoads, a living breathing guitar God
May I put this on my Facebook
Warms my heart to see how many miss this TRUE LEGEND!!! I recently posted a passion project - a tribute to the one & only SRV!! I grew up listening my dads vinyl collection & just visited SRV’s grave for the first time in Dallas m…so sad such a great man & one of the greatest guitarists left us all so early at 35…We love your Stevie…a True Legend in every way!!
R.I.P. SRV
Jimmie sucks and used his bros fame.
Stevie is legend..has a legends heart and gave back to the community..a lot of love and compassion..deserves a gold metal..getting in Hall of fame..
Tight, tight group !
RIP and long live Stevie Ray Vaughan (October 3, 1954 - August 27, 1990), aged 35 You will always be remembered as a legend.
This breaks my heart to know Stevie Ray Vaughan entertained and performed for all his fans the last time ..
This was so awesome and touching to hear jimmy vaughn talk about his brother so beautifully
Thirty one years later his music means more to me each day. So much to learn still from both the brothers. Today for me I'm just going to feel the love. One thing so unique about SRV and Double Trouble is they really did get along. Unlike most of their counterparts i.e. The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac etc. So if you can read this from Heaven Stevie I just want to say "thank you" you are one of a kind. And you have a twin named Greg. He doesn't play guitar but he looks just like you. He shared your music with me. So thanks to Greg too ~ kimie
Jesus Christ loves you
Omg I love Alaina and ash.
Love you man.😇😎🙂🎶🎼🤍💛❤️✌️🤲🙏☺️
You know that feeling you get when something is so special, so powerful, so beautiful that you just want others to experience it...for me, that's SRV! I'm convinced that he loved what he did so much that it didn't matter if he was playing for 50 people or 50,000, Stevie always put his whole heart and soul into it!
