Howdy Folks! Welcome Aboard the TweetsieRailroader TH-cam Channel! We provide, as our slogan suggests, "Good Trains to Hungry Railfans." Steaming into the New Year: Dollywood Express 1/4/2025
On January 4th, 2025, me and some of my coworkers headed up to Dollywood for a belated birthday bash. Despite being firmly into January, the park was in the last couple of days of its "Smoky Mountain Christmas" event, which meant that the park, including the train, was decorated for the holiday season. Leading the charge on the Dollywood Express was #70, "Cinderella", who put on a fantastic show traveling up and down Iron Mountain. This video offers something rather unique, as you get the chance to see the train at both day and night, something I've never been able to cover so extensively. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Dollywood Express!

On November 29th, 2024, Tweetsie Railroad finally reopened following an over month-long closure due to Hurricane Helene, just in time for their annual Tweetsie Christmas event. With locomotive #12 out of action, due to the need for major boiler work, 190 was called to action to step up and pull the Christmas Train, putting on an excellent show, with her headlight and marker lights a-blazing, an...

On October 27th, 2024, I traveled up to the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad in Bryson City for an autumn ride along the Nantahala Gorge. I was able to book tickets on board the premium open air car, fitting called the Nantahala, for a fantastic excursion through peak fall color season in the Smokies. 1702 put on a fantastic show, as always, and the peak fall colors and that extra touch of magic ...

On October 19th, 2024, I ventured out to the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer for an afternoon of railroading. Although I had planned to visit Tweetsie Railroad for Ghost Train, Hurricane Helene, regrettably, put a dent in those plans. However, not wanting to go back up the mountain without seeing a train at all, I settled on headed to Spencer, as I knew I could get some good rai...

With the Day Out With Thomas having officially come to a close the day before, Tweetsie Railroad had, at long last, resumed their regular Wild West activities, as locomotive #12 tackled yet another busy day, circling around Roundhouse Mountain. However, on this trip, I also decided to put some focus on Mouse Mine #9, the little train running at the top of Miner's Mountain. On this trip, I ended...

Ever since returning from Florida, I had been itching to return to Tweetsie Railroad, and on June 7th, 2024, I got that chance. That day marked the first day of the park's incredibly popular "Day Out With Thomas" event, meaning the little blue tank engine was front and center, smiling to his adoring fans as he tackled the three-mile trek around Roundhouse Mountain. In a surprise twist, Southern E8 No. 6900 was on the day's on-site train ride, a rare occurrence, as the locomotive is usually found on various special event trains for the museum. All in all, it was a real treat to see such a rare locomotive o...

With less than two months to go until the end of my Disney College Program, I I knew another railfanning trip to the Magic Kingdom was in order. If there's one train at Walt Disney World that's more famous than it's Steam Train, it's easily the monorail. First introduced with the opening of the resort on October 1st, 1971, the monorail took passengers from the Transportation & Ticket Center to the Magic Kingdom, and to the Contemporary & Polynesian Village Resorts. Later, a station would be built at the Grand Floridian Resort, and an ex...

With two (and a half) more months to go in Florida, I've been continuing to take full advantage of my time here to railfan the Walt Disney World Railroad. I decided to get all my footage this time over a single day, this time, which ended up being the 4th of March. Fittingly, running the railroad that day were the WDWRR's two green engines, #2, "Lilly Belle", and #3, "Roger E. Broggie". Alongsi...

In 1925, two locomotives rolled off the floor of the Baldwin Factory. Builders Numbers 58444 and 58445 belonged to a pair of 4-6-0 Ten Wheelers built for export to Mexico to be operated on the United Railways of Yucatan. They would lead rather unremarkable lives, until they were eventually discovered by a pair of folks from back in the States, Roger Broggie, and Earl Vilmer, who decided to repa...

Any bad wheelslip while you were their
No, there was not.
Know this is unrelated, but I hope your LEGO Ideas Polar Express set is doing well! Saw it 2 years ago and I’m still patiently waiting for it’s review by LEGO to this day. Bless you.
Thank you! It actually hit 10k not too long ago, and it's due to go for the LEGO review in January.
Great ride. Thanks.
Good video. Surprised they didn’t fuel up 1702 beforehand. Did the diesels on the east end just shove to the fuel tanker? Also, where was 1702 coming from at the NOC? Did they uncouple her for some reason at the end of the line and she came back to the NOC solo? Sorry for all the questions. When they deviate from normal operations I get curious lol.
Alright. So, first of all, When we were supposed to depart, '02 ran off to fuel up, leaving us hanging, before the diesels pushed us to the fuel tank to couple back up with '02. During the actual excursion, we went as far as the rock quarry, where '02 then uncoupled and ran ahead to fuel up on water, and then came back to couple back on for the journey home.
Gotcha. Thanks for the response. Definitely sounds like they were slacking that day. Oh well, that’s railroading.
I think that whistle is a 5 chime.

I look forward to HK Porter locomotive number nine returning to service hopefully they made good progress on the restoration
I thought the Russian Decapods were built by Baldwin?
They were, but they were built by a number of manufacturers. Baldwin built some, ALCO built some, and the Canadian Locomotive Company built some. Multiple manufacturers building locomotives to the same design is more common than you’d think.
i think Thomas head home sodor

Nah. The Buckeye suits her. I personally really like the Baldwin on Walter.
@@TweetsieRailroader would you be interested in voicing Porter, Mighty Mac, Luke, and Stanley (Mid Sodor) in Thomas and Ariel's Adventures/Thomas and Friends: Crossover Adventures, my crossover series? and Plus, I made a post where Mighty and Mac's voices sounding like Rob Paulsen's voice of Pinky for Mac and Maurice LaMarche's voice of Brain for Mighty and I thought you would be interested in voicing these 4 characters because I've seen various times you've voiced Porter and Stanley (Mid Sodor) before and I thought you would be interested in voicing these 4 characters and I was wanting to ask if you could do Irish impressions so that way I could know if you would be interested in voicing Luke as well.

Roger just strolls away with even a full train! The folks at Strasburg do amazing work.
Amen!
Walter got its Baldwin whistle back in late March 2024. I’m glad they were able to get it reinstalled as all four locomotives definitely deserve their own voice. Btw any more trips planned before you leave Florida?
Hoping to swing by Busch Gardens Tampa, but sadly, going to see the 148 is more than likely a no-go.
While I did like Walter's Buckeye but I do agree! It gives the locomotives unique personalities! I can't wait for Roy to come back!
This whole time I thought Walt was wearing Roy’s whistle while Roy is away. I guess I didn’t know Walt has his own Baldwin whistle that’s lower than Lilly’s and Roger’s!
@@wavemaker10111 Someone also thought Walter was wearing Roy's whistle at the time before we found out that it's a brand new whistle. Roy's whistle has a deeper tone.
Excellent video and thanks for sharing. Dave
Nice video! Cyan would be incorrect. It would be either Blue or Teal.
Thanks! I did the catch the issue, and made the correction in the description when I was uploading the video. I believe the monorail I called “Monorail Cyan” was actually Monorail Teal.
Fresh coat of paint lookin good!
Did you know that the monorail is automatic
What do you mean by that? As in it has automatic doors?
@@TweetsieRailroaderthe monorail moves by itself.
@@christopherjamieson1668 Don't think that's entirely the case, seeing as there are still pilots in the monorail's cockpit. From what I've researched, it could be a combination of automatic control with manual backup.
@@TweetsieRailroader the monorail is automatic, but you see pilots because they are there in case of an emergency.
