this is a great car
you're lucky you could ever buy a camry v6. We have in Europe only R4. And R4 is not that bad, and the last thing that can be said about it is that it is expensive to operate. it's a simple naturally aspirated engine, proven for years in Europe - it won't be expensive. As for the steering wheel - in Europe only VW achieves this time. Hyundai or Toyota are closer to 30 seconds in ideal conditions. You have wider, straighter roads, so it's strange that they didn't make them longer for you.
P.S. and your Camry does not have infra red camera for monitor driver and does not beeeeep every time you look away from road or breake a speed limit by 1km/h…. So generally it could really be worse ;D
Good video brother
Thanks man. Glad you liked the video.
I got a 2024 ecoboost brand new out the lot why is it only getting 15-16 mpg!
Waaaaaa
Lol just keep scrolling then.
I have GSF at home, TRD is suck
Add to your list the crappy CVT trans.
This one has a eCVT, no belts like traditional CVT's so that part should actually be pretty robust.
Yo what tires are you running with these wheels?
Firestone Firehawk INDY 500, 255/35R18
The 2024 S60 B5 is my first luxury car. No complaints.
It's not a bad car, but I think it's lacking in some aspects. Especially compared to previous generations
map on the dashboard only works with google maps, not with waze
Yea but you can just use the built in Google maps, it's pretty easy to use
The seats are so low it feels like your sitting on the floor with no buttons to raise
I didn't think the seating position was much of an issue. But I like being in cars that are closer to the ground.
Don’t sleep on the hybrid, once it’s in sport it’s drives like a COMPLETELY different car. Honda definitely knew what they were doing
I will say it handles surprisingly well.
So two of your five complaints are the exact same thing and your entire premise is comparing the car to a TRD model which is speciality in nature and at best has a minority demand relative to the rest of the trim lineup. Got it.
Welcome to the internet. It's my opinion, you don't have to agree with me. I also made a video listing 5 things I love about this car. It's a really solid car, just wish there were more options.
This is THE BEST NEW CAMRY YET! HANDS DOWN!!!
Lol, I made a video listing off 5 things I like about it as well. It's definitely a good car.
No, it’s not.
It's a very clean and simple design. I'm a fan. I don't expect the family sedan to be a performance car. I want a reliable, efficient, and low-key vehicle to haul my kids from point A to point B.
Fair enough!
What brand of strut bar do you have? I have the Verticooler also.
Tanabe Sustec strut bar, it's one of the few that have enough clearance.
Yeah you really don't know who you talking about when they come to maintenance
What is the point you're trying to make? I never said the car was unreliable.....the first model year of a new generation is typically less reliable than the final year of the previous generation, there are new components which come with bugs and issues because they haven't been tested by the various driving habits of the public. And Hybrid components are expensive when they need to be replaced compared to non-hybrid so there should at least be a non-hybrid option. You're free to disagree.
Shoulda gotten the XSE instead 🤷🏻♂️
Didn't buy the car, I was testing it out for a week.
as a 72 bhp car owner i think its just fine
Lol fair enough
I have a black 2024 sport l and I love it. Excellent commuter car, the ride is smooth and the gas mileage is absolutely insane, I am averaging 44 MPG and the engine isn’t even broken in yet with less than 1k. To each their own, but this is a Honda accord, it’s a clean reliable simple yet elegant drivers/commuters car, the “aggressive” look on the 1.5T and 2.0T are for a non-typical marketing audience not to mention those engines blow up between 35k and 50k (my friend rebuilds at least 1 a week, both engine types and all trims).
I haven't heard of the turbo models having that many issues. A normal NA engine would be the most reliable and have the least amount of issues. No hybrid components to worry about. The car gets good fuel mileage. And yes not everyone wants a "fast" Accord but those people exist. That's a group of people that will now look elsewhere for a vehicle. But I guess that demographic doesn't matter much to Honda.
@ the hybrid technology is highly reliable, been in production for over 25 years. Honda warranties the hybrid components for 10 years/200k miles. Look up the 1.5t and 2.0t engines, guaranteed to blow head gasket, Honda completely discontinued/overhauled that engine line and has allot of issues on there hands associated with those engines. The 10th gen was not in their wheelhouse and Honda engineering team deemed it a failed concept. They are back to making reliable commuter cars for people like me, not rice burners with overall low power and reliability issues. Mine goes 0-60 in 6.5 vs the 10 gens that can go as low as 5.5, that second means nothing to me, absolutely nothing.
@@corpr8dystopia778 Lol relax, it's not that serious. You bought the car and are enjoying it, that's what matters. I literally have a linked video pointing out the 5 things I really like about this car as well. There are some pros and cons. Honda and Toyota are catering to the mass market instead of making little variants to reach a broader audience. It's the future, I don't like it but it is what it is.
I'm happy with my 2017 Accord EX without the bells and whistles.
Keep it going as long as you can
2021 WRX Grimmspeed bolt-ons: stealth box intake, V2 gesi j-pipe, EBCS, invidia r400 CBE. 91 octane protune 292whp/328wtq . Coming soon: Grimmspeed ELH, v2 BPV, V2 turbo inlet, charge pipe, TMIC kit, radium engineering dual catch can kit installation then back to the shop to get tuned for the new parts on 91 octane. See how it handles it on stock fuel system. May have to upgrade the fuel pump and or injectors if it's maxed out the fuel system.
Nice dude 👍. Sounds like you'll have a sick setup and it'll make all the right noises lol. Enjoy it!
@alexs_wrex Thanks! I'm definitely looking forward to completing my Grimmspeed build take it back and let my tuner work his magic and go from there
Question: Did you buy one? You should buy a different car. Or should you do a comparison b4 you get it.
I didn't buy the car. I drove it around for a week.
I have that drivetrain in my car and I drive it on the autobahn with no problem. Yes my Si was more sporty and I do miss the manual, but power is adequate. I will confess though, that Honda does need a hybrid engine with about 50 more horsepower.
Yea it's a good car overall. But its definitely lacking a bit in the power department.
What does it do?? 😮
This is what you need to tune the car.
@alexs_wrex Can you tune the car with it?
Got one in my 16 wrx. Love it.
@@danielhuerta8890 did it make a big difference? Preset tuning?
@@noddylloyd no i got it tuned from a guy here in my town, but yes, pretty good difference difference
I own one and find this video a waste of time. He is selecting things that arent the mission of this car and shouldn’t be comparing it to past models. Just judge this on its own and don’t talk 100 mph. There are not big problems with the car. It’s not meant to be fast. The steering is good. Go buy yourself a Hyundai Sonata. That will fall apart, this will not be expensive on long term maintenance you are just pulling things out of your butt man.
Lol take a chill pill. I'm pointing out 5 things that I don't like about the car when I made another video pointing out 5 things I do like. It's a solid car but with very limited options compared to before. The reason I'm comparing the 2 is you can still find some 2024 models lying around so it's good to see what's different. If you don't want a hybrid you have to go with the previous year, amongst other things.
@@alexs_wrexThe 2024 is essentially the same minus th body style. I just bought a 2025 Camry SE. Toyota has been in the hybrid game longer than anyone else.
Good review, I agree the looks of grill, styling etc is stellar. Appreciated your coverage on the interior being so in-depth.
Glad you enjoyed the review! 👍
I have a new 3.5 bar MAP sensor my Cobb Accesstuner software doesn't support the settings I need. COBB has not been helpful after being fined by EPA. They never even answered my email.
Damn, sorry to hear that man. Do you have a tuner you use? Maybe they can figure something out?
Don’t knock it till you drive it; just because it’s a hybrid! The thing handles awesome, steering is killer and it moves pretty well. I love mine. Also, it doesn’t have a transmission, so you can’t “shift” it. Understand the features; it’s not a sports car with MT.
I mean it's pretty good for what it is. I just wish there was a slightly more performance oriented trim. The TLX is basically the Acura version and is leagues ahead now. They could fill the gap a little. They could still "simulate" gear ratios. That's what they do with cvt's. I mean even Hyundai has a "manual" mode on their Hyundai Ioniq 6 N model which is fully electric and that's a ton of fun.
If you're buying A gas power car for muscle, then you're doing it wrong, and you're going to embarrass yourself, just get a tesla What to look for in a gas power car? A good, comfortable cruiser, that has enough power to pass people comfortably and get on the highway comfortably, and that's it. If you want muscle get a tesla.. otherwise you're just embarrassing yourself, thinking a v6 actually means something LOL.😂
Tip with the lane trace assist! I have found that by finding a good place to rest your elbow, then to put your hand a bit higher up the steering wheels like 1-2cm higher (0.5-1inch) then let the weight and pressure from your hand that wants to go lower to stop it from crying at you! I do this in my 2022 Corolla with TSS3.0 and it is amazing!
Lol noted 👍
It's still 2024 you don't have anything from 2025.
You realize car companies do this all the time 🙄. They'll release next year's model in the current year.
The 2025 Civic Sport Touring will solve a your complaints!
Yea but you don't get the space from the Accord.
There’s no way to stage a wrx/sti and not decrease your engines life/reliability… it’s not possible.
If you're that worried about it then leave it stock. But doing the right mods and maintaining the car properly will keep it running strong for a long time. It's more about how you drive the car and proper maintenance. Stock cars can get blown engines too.
The Toyota dealer here in FL offers a lifetime powertrain warranty, I believe 10 years for the battery, and free maintenance for I believe 4 years. I have a 2019 Sonata now with 103,000 miles on it, out of warranty, still going strong. Looking into what my next vehicle is going to be. I'm also considering the Corolla Cross.
That’s a scam
Lifetime powertrain?? I'd look at those terms and conditions closely. There has to be a catch.
@ there is a big catch
No one was ever going ot take a TRD Camry to the track, except to watch a NASCAR race. Please. The TRD was not a performance vehicle in any way, shape, or form, and almost no one bought the thing anyway.
They made 6,000 every model year from 2020-2024. They sold them all so they exist out there. It is 100% more capable than a regular V6 Camry. Stiffer springs & sway bars, bigger brakes, lower, quickest version of the V6 powered Camrys. I'm actually happy it exists in this day and age when everything is becoming dull hybrids.
@@alexs_wrex 100%? Try maybe 10%. Adding stiffer springs and bars doesn't change the fact that it's still a long, heavy, FWD Camry with an open diff, hampered by a sloggy, slow, eight-speed torque converter that was never designed for performance duties. The Camry to miss is not the TRD, but the traditional "luxury" V6 Camry with the traditional Camry virtues of smooth, quiet comfort. 6,000 sales per year tells you how inconsequential the TRD Camry was to Toyota.
Meant that it is definitely more capable, not 100% better....that's 32,000 TRD Camry's, a lot of automakers have models that don't even sell that many in a year so it's a decent amount. My whole point is that there was a fun version of the Camry and now there isn't. Tbh if you want the best sedan toyota made in terms of luxury it was the Avalon, which I'll add also had a TRD version, but that one was pretty pointless.
@@kennethshores8547 Tesla and Muscle don't go together in the same sentence. Lmao Tesla's are just appliances. They go fast in a straight line but nobody cares, it's too easy. It's not about the fastest thing out there, but the most enjoyable. Look at brands like Porche as proof, they brought the manual back to their 911 GT3 because people wanted it and found it more fun than the PDK automatic which is way quicker. My point is the TRD Camry was a fun variant so it checked boxes that the regular didn't. Now it's gone and there isn't a more powerful powertrain.
Hybrids vehicles are for specific purposes such as fuel savings ,if you need for speed take a look at the civic si MT...now that's a sport car.
The Type R is more my cup of tea 😉. They have the TLX so it's doable. They can just detune it and "Hondafy" it
Trd was good
TRD Camry is a solid vehicle. Quick, practical and I actually like the way it looks
Don't get me wrong, I'm sad the 2.0T is gone, but don't take a hybrid and just bash on it. This is a good hybrid vehicle. Good fuel economy, super refined. The Accord is a family sedan after all, and not going to lie, this thing still handles. It's not all soulless like what the naysayers say.
Lol, I made another video listing 5 things I really like about the car as well. It's not bad, but it's not perfect. And as a car enthusiast it's a little sad to see everything getting hybridized. As a plain hybrid model it's great. I just wish there was another more performance oriented engine option.
The trd pro was an limited version but the new camry is much faster than the old v6
They made about 6000 TRDs for each model year from 2020-2024. Not really that "limited", percentage wise sure since they make so many Camry's but numbers wise that's still a decent amount. The new hybrid model might "feel" faster around town when you're under 45mph but if you look at the specs it's 100% not. The 0-60 is much slower compared to the V6, over a full second slower when compared to the TRD model.
No, it’s not. Not by a long shot.
I have this car and the maintenance is not bad at all. You pretty much only need to only do your oil change and that's it.
I'm sure maintenance is minimal and simple the first years. It's not until you hit over 150k that you'll have major repairs. I'd just be concerned about the hybrid components tbh.
@alexs_wrex It's definitely a concern about every car. My last car was a Sonata 2013, and I had a mileage up to 175k before selling. I had to replace a gas pump assembly, two windows regulator, timing belt plus other maintenance stuff. Most toyotas you really won't have to do any major maintenance as long as you take good care of it.
@@tonykoulong9458 don't forget transmission fluid every 50,000 miles or so and keeping a clean air filter for the high voltage battery.
@@alexs_wrex never had a major issue with any of my Toyotas at 150,000 miles drove them all 250,000+
@carmenvanek5754 Yeah, whenever I check on the marketplace or craiglist, most toyota owners only sell their cars at high mileage and guess what there is still a market for those.
Does it comes with a spare tire?
It's funny; this question became like a trolly one for the Accord, but great thing about the Camry is that all of them come w a compact Spare 🛞 as it should be
Yea, it comes with a donut (mini tire).
I had a 21 Venza Limited, now a 2024 Camry LXE. They both have lane control. But I never use it because it demands I keep my hands on the wheel, then it takes me where I don't want to go. I don't get why there would he an auto-steering feature if you can't take your hands off the wheel. What's the point of the feature?
It’s to make sure you don’t fall asleep. The government tells the care manufacturers what to do to avoid lawsuits
@2004cyrus What I'm saying is that if I'm required to keep my hands on the wheel to prevent myself from falling asleep, then why is there a lane control feature at all? I would rather have saved a few bucks and not have it at all. One thing that sucks about car buying is that the options come in packages. If you want heated seats, you have to buy a whole package that includes crap you don't need.
Yea you can't pick and choose the features you want. Probably so they can squeeze more money out of consumers and less "customizing" they need to do when building the cars. Easier to build cars with 5 different package options instead of a different one every time because people choose different features. I agree with you, but I understand why automakers do it.
@ the government
I respectfully disagree on the long term maintenance claim issues. No belts no alternators or hoses also the ECVT transmission is more reliable than a geared transmission.
thinking any cvt is more reliable than a geared one is a sign of major lack of education
@@camkeena6874it’s not a real cvt it’s a ecvt meaning that it’s an electric motor driving the car
@@camkeena6874ecvt is different from cvt. You’re thinking about the Altimas with the cvt 😂
Hmm interesting, did some more research on it and it looks promising. Not the most exciting drivetrain out there but they seem to be reliable. Hopefully the other hybrid components last a long time too.
@@camkeena6874 Equating Toyota's e-CVT to a CVT is a super-obvious sign of a major lack of education.
You ve mentioned the that its not v6 and repeatedly saying it, and keep whining about the last gen🤦🏻♂️, you shouldve purchased the previous gen, sounds like you bought the wrong car🤷♂️.
It's part of a car review. I didn't buy the car. The point of this video was to list out issues with the new gen for people to be aware of.
With the amount of insane power that teslas have, he is completely fooling himself in embarrassing himself, thinking v6, actually means anything nowadays😂
How many tome youve mentioned no more v6🤦🏻♂️, you purchased the wrong the car.🤷♂️
No more V6, no more na 4 cyl either. You're forced into a hybrid
If your goal is resale power, function and reliability this car is impossible to beat for the price.
I mean it's a compelling vehicle, just wanted a version that's a little more exciting and powerful
New interior is cheap crap😢😢😢😢
I think it looks better than the last gen though
Really 232 horsepower that’s horrible couldn’t they just put a 4cylinder turbo like on the highlander and call it a day 🤦♂️
I mean they should at least have that as an option.
When i bought my car in 2021, the salesman wouldn't sell it without the extended warranty...smh
