So this is how America building a floating city of aircrafts, the reason why they build a carrier too long while china build faster than them(us) However it's not the number US rely on capabilities intead it's the performances and quality that can save thousands of its crews and the home of their warplanes to obliterate a threat Great job
The most lethal weapon carried by US Navy ships is the US Marine Corps.
I served aboard the USS America CVA-66 attack aircraft carrier between June 1973 and August 1975 (transferred to a destroyer afterwards for the remainder of my 4 year enlistment). One thing you didn't mention is a way that the carrier uses JP-5. During training exercises the jet will be launched from the carrier, then fly to the left (port side), then turn going the opposite direction, turn towards the ship and land. The jets need to be used to taking off with a full load of fuel, but they can't land that heavy. So as they are flying toward the stern of the ship, they are dumping most of their fuel into the water. I was shocked when I saw them doing this from an observation deck on the superstructure. You can actually see the fuel flowing under the jets. Asked them why they didn't just fill tanks of water and dump that. They replied that it wasn't what they were told to do (Navy talk). So this happens on every carrier all around the world. That's a lot of wasted fuel.
That’s super cool! I had no idea they dumped fuel like that. Thanks for the insider scoop! Makes you wonder what other crazy things happen on carriers, right?
@@navyfront Remember seeing something coming from the bottom of the jets and I asked what it was -- they explained it to me - ridiculous
@@navyfront I think another reason they do this is to keep their budget for fuel high. I read that the army will turn the left or right brake of their tanks on with full forward. Then they will jump off the tank and let it spin until it runs out of fuel. They said the reason they do this is to keep their fuel budget high (same thing). Asked the naval officers -- why don't you just put a hose over the side of the ship and pump fuel out? They didn't think that was very funny :) You think the Exxon Valdez was bad.
only on a Chines carrier
whats about russian sub that can't never be detect for month.big mouth i guess,do you know about the system called dead hands. the are more prepare to die for they country and they have not unveil everything to you
I learned that when it came to Navy Submariners...you don't talk to them about how fast , how deep, sonar , cavitation, torpedos, etc.which is fine with me.. let them worry about it and thank them that i live as a free man.
ICBM and IRBM who powerful???
Nuclear carriers don't burn any type of liquid fuel to propel themselves they use enriched uranium and the only way to refuel them is every 5 or 10 years at a shipyard by cutting giant holes in the ship and replacing the components required within the reactors. Get your facts right or don't say anything at all.
Brilliant video I learned a lot from this video. ,,How this ship that big can carry so much ,,it’s like a small city that never sleeps this is what it takes to keep peace,,,and keep our freedom love you crew trust is important cheers ❤️❤️🙏💪👍👍⚓️🛟✝️
Dis you get your information from the MSM? I believe all US carriers are now nuclear models so it takes tyears for them to need refueling. Of course thay would need other supplies like food.
Where in China, exactly, are you planning to land those marines?
Very Interesting Video, THX 👍🇮🇹 🇺🇸 Already Subscribed.👊😎
Awesome, thank you!
Hahaha, yeah right. A American made Nuclear air craft carrier needs fuel. Your next video should be how much fuel does a fast-attack or a boomer nuclear submarine needs. Now lets talk about how do we get food, mail, medical supplies, and fuel for the jets onto the nuclear air craft carrier at sea.
ever hear of other uses? lube, J.P5 etc?
Aircraft, not air craft.
@@tonyrowland9216 Can youu read Look at the title. It says Aircraft carrier and not planes. A quote the air craft carrier uses 100,000 gallons of fuel an hour. To simple minded people a nuclear air craft carrier has two nuclear reactors.
Well done, informative, wonderful to view. Thank you. raphael nyc
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice video. BTW @ 9:59, its BOW thruster not BO thruster
They use conrep method to deliver fuel @5:11. Trust me I did it.
What powers the USS Nimitz? nuclear reactors USS Nimitz History United States Propulsion 2 × Westinghouse A4W nuclear reactors (HEU 93.5%) 4 × steam turbines 4 × shafts 260,000 shp (194 MW) Speed 31.5 knots (58.3 km/h; 36.2 mph) Range Unlimited distance; 20-25 years / / / all that other fuel etc is for the aircraft and small craft. as far as i have found out, they are not a stores ship. so perhaps rewrite the headline. thanks. have a great new year.
But they are nuclear powered
They carry stuff
Watch the video
It is not a secret now
Unbelievable how far man will go to kill his fellow man!!!
Drydock is incredible!! I went through a overhaul of my ship, the USS BADGER FF 1071 in the early 80's and they had a nuclear sub and a barge in the dry dock with us!!! The dry dock is huge!!! It's really wild how they set those ships down on concrete blocks and it's perfect!!!
None of listed weapons beat swarm drones period
Produce that but dont forget to produce aircraft carriers..china is fast constructing aircraft carriers and im pretty sure they will be able to catch up if you dont construct more caircraft carriers too
Better be smarteer than THE ENEMY
How did they build these things before Computers?
Slide rules, that is how they plotted the landing on the moon! And the building of the Saturn five engines
Slide rules, compasses, and other tools for drawing plus ALOT of math... Humans are fairly capable of alot of amazing tasks
If we have the capacity to take down droes, why haven't we already taken down the drones around our military bases currently?
Im pretty sure this ship can't stop the Hyper sonic missiles of the Russians....But it's ok because we have subs who can launch nukes and that is more powerful than any ship that is a floating dead duck when the next war starts.
Apparently, not so top secret after all. 🤡
Hello, Hello, anyone listening? We need air cover?
IT IS SO AMAZING THAT A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY LIKE YEMEN CHASE THEM AWAY🤣🤣. JUST AMERICAN PROPAGANDA THAT IS ALWAYS BUSY WITH WAR SINCE IT WAS FOUNDED AND BEFORE. 🗺️🗺️🆓🆓👍
Is 95% threat detection really good enough? When a potential adversary lijee China is on track to build a huge advantage in numbers m, defending against 20x missiles isn't out if the question. 97% might be a more realistic goal, approximately doubling thise odds to 40 threats to likely Chieve one hit And, if course defense can't stop at threat detection, there has to be a countermeasure capable of taking out every detected threat.
HI❤ please tell me prize
Propaganda. US Navy has NO defense against supersonic missles . Every war game run against China shows our carriers sunk in 30 mins . MAGA
The firepower here is both mesmerizing and terrifying to watch.
There’s nothing that compares to a carrier. Down sizing isn’t the path for the USA! Mouth have U ever served; you should try it out, you’ll learn something about sacrifice and commitment to the USA! Instead of bitching about it, sail the 7-SEA’s and then you’ll stop bitching about those whom served!
?? $120 B ??
This is a great ship to raise our number of ships to assist in having a 360 ship navy. There will always be a need for Ford Class carriers and I look forward on the U.S. Navy taking command of the new CVN 79 John F. Kennedy aircraft carrier, we can then see how much more operational savings can be achieved by needing less saliors and streamlined power generation by switching from steam to electrical power to launch aircraft and to power the ship, having nuclear powered aircraft carriers will always be important, essential in not having to come into port to refuel and can be resupplied at sea. I believe it's great the Navy is building more San Antonio class ships because we need many more amphibious assult ships but there will always be a need for Ford Class carriers. DD. 🇺🇸🇻🇮
Sounds like we actually sell some of these great weapons to other countries... BUT.. what happens if we piss them off... they could easily purchase then resell to our enemies.... Yikes... and that would be a very big surprise in a battle.
Why are we tell our enemies how good and how come our weapons work so well... every indication we give anyone about our weapons capability must be kept top secret to prevent our enemies developing the systems we are now telling them about.
myson is a plank owner of the uss germantown l s d 42
Great new addition. Hope to see more advancement in the future. More advancement in future make sure we can complete. Progress is always good. Keep it up.. military.
Common sense. Practical. Efficient and. Lower .cost. we need them because many Americans complain about. High cost of the military.
I often wonder if they could convert one to a possible Arsenal ship by replacing the landing area and well deck. They could pack hundred of missiles by making this modification.
The video kept showing 2 different classes of ships.
Helios weapons system
These ships cannot double as an airport. There is no comparison.
Leave the aircraft carrier alone they are very important . Besides you talk too much you do this some country. Is going to catch us with our pants down?
That thing would take one hell of a nuclear reactor
Why not give the one thing missing which are multiple laser guns mounted around this type of ship? This one improvement to this ship would truly make it something to reckon with no matter what is coming its way!❤❤❤
Can they sink an enemies air craft carrier?
That's a great question! The capabilities of this new warship are impressive, and while it may not directly sink an aircraft carrier, it definitely has the technology to challenge traditional naval power.
I think the more relevant question is, "Can they take out a fleet of illegal Chinese fishing vessels in a manner similar to the Marianas Turkey shoot?"
