Dorothy Squires - Rain Rain Go Away - Part 1
Many elements of Dorothy Squires life were tragic , but none the less she was one of the greatest entertainers the UK has ever produced. Lets all remember her on the stage in that packed out London Paladium singing to an audience who loved and respected her.
so much real genuine talent
Love this Lady , Soon be my birthday now , My Dot Top , it’s ready 😂 Plus a few feathers lots of music ❤thank you
I love this song , Oh Dorothy you are the icing on the cake Thank You. ❤❤
Beautiful , Dorothy , as always , Thank You ❤
Wow , How nice is this , Loving it Thank You. ❤
I love this lady , she , well , she just blows me away , When Dorothy sang , she means it Thank You so much ❤
I love every moment with Dorothy Thank you so much ❤❤
My Nan loved Danny and slightly unusual for the times she loved the gays.
I have seen her 4 times live in Concert and has never disappointed me. She a real Star Performer. I sadly miss those days. Thank you Shirley Bassey for your recordings. I can relive the past🤗🙏
The way he just switched octaves was amazing.
It’s a man in a fucking dress! - Agnes Brown.🍀
Goodness this is lovely. I saw Dan in panto in Cinderella at The Bournemouth Pleasure Gardens. I was 7. I saw him at Woking before he died. He was such a kind man. We always went backstage where the ‘shoe’ continued.
Richard Madely totally outclassed here. A bit like Des O'Connor when he had Norman Wisdom on his show.
RIP
She was on fire this night, I remember watching it on TV and was blown away ❤
I always liked Dorothy Squires. She had such a great voice I met her first when I was about 14. She was selling one of her records at Woolworths in Bradford. I asked her for her autograph but she would not give it to me as I had to buy the record. I did not have any money A few years later I saw her perform at a theatre in London. She was great Fast forward to it was I think 1967 in Los Angeles one of my husband’family had Dorothy as a guest. At their house. They had gotten to know her when they lived next door to her when she was married to Roger Moor. Dorothy was delightful. I mentioned I’d met her when I was 14 but did not tell her she refused to give me her autograph. I did however get 2 nice photos taken with her. One with her and myself and one with her and an actor who was also there. He was in “I Dream of Jeannie”. Dorothy invited me and my husband and the rest of the family to her One Person Show at the Music Centre and I was given a signed LP album. Had to smile to myself as I got her autograph after all😃 After the show we went to a reception where many British stars attended. I remember meeting Hazel Court I was so very sad hearing of her death. A friend of hers in Wales sent me the funeral service. Dorothy was a really a most lovely lady. I still enjoy listening to her singing. May she R. I. P.
❤Danny was the best😊
Gorgeous gentle man, both inside and out. I'm so privileged to have met him, god rest his beautiful soul x
I'm so lucky to have met him, we chatted for ages (long story)... What a beautiful soul to have graced our Earth
Only heard it last for first time, really beautiful
Absolutely great singer. Sadly missed by those of us who were fans.
She is fabulous, thank you.
Intentionally or unintentionally - I think he ruined her life... The point people often forget when being unsympathetic to Dorothy; HE walked into her life - not the other way around - she was 38 - she did not go looking, certainly not a Toy Boy (a phrase not used in those days) she never chased him - he went after her! I felt very sorry for her to end up the way she did... He was so well aware of the hurt he'd caused her - but didn’t seem to care... However, I heard or read somewhere he paid for some medical treatment for her - but this could have been guilt... (or paying old debts in that she helped make him a star) She loved him so much, she continued to deny he'd ever used her - only a woman in love can do that! I feel he could have helped save her from the shame of gigantic fall she took.
She was correct about the man she mentions.
Agreed; intentionally or unintentionally - I think he ruined her life... The point people often forget when being unsympathetic to Dorothy; HE walked into her life - not the other way around - she was 38 - she did not go looking, certainly not a Toy Boy (a phrase not used in those days) she never chased him - he went after her! ‘Without the sex’……seriously Richard ….so naive 🤔🤷🏼♂️🤔
I agree as someone has already said this song and plenty more by Dorothy really lifts your spirits. God bless you Dot your a superstar and your songs will live on and as you once said these songs will never die they will be remembered to the end of time.XX

love danny larue
I would be happy if I could see a video clip of gerry monroe
saw him in 1978 summer season in Scarborough the best summer show ive ever seen 2hrs of comedy music glitz and glamour breathtaking a true showman
Still sounds amazing to my ears. Just brilliant.
Simply brilliant performance.
Very heartbreaking ending to a talented person 😢
RNP Danny 😢
Why can't our girl friends or wives be as glamurous as Danny. Unlike other impersonating acts Danny didn't have to use the F-word to get a few laughs.
Give us a cook, a nanny, a maid and a driver and we'll be glamorous 24/7.
I felt so sorry for her when her partner Roger Moore left her for that Italian beauty. She took it very badly though it was inevitable that he would leave her as he was half her age .
Its a girl playing a boy playing a girl....they all do it !
Wasn’t he great but such a sad ending to his life. He lost everything due to two Canadian freudstirs. Never sign anything until your lawyer has read it first.
Amazing man
A brilliant performance from the wonderful Dorothy Squires.A star in the true sense of the word
Never had to use vulgar language to get laughs as many comedians of today and of the past Do.
