An update to the update of an update

just checking in .... mainly to let you all know of my progress on the move. I noted that GOVIA OR GOHOME is going through the same thing ... all my best to him for success in his move. All the important train stuff in up in the trailer. All that is left is scenery and benchwork. AND a few other odds and ends.
The Final Takedown ....
มุมมอง 1746 หลายเดือนก่อน
I just thought that I would share with my model railroading friend the final takedown of the layout for the move.... Was the first part up, therefore the last part down.... volume is low on this computer so you might wanna use earphones.

hi mike im glad you found this channel again
It took a bit of searching, but I finally found the code .... in the glove box of the truck ... go figure...
Amen to that! You only live once and enjoy every moment you have of it plus that beautiful Sunset! Happy railroading!
It IS a peaceful place on earth.... and it is our, wife and I enjoy it day in, day out.... Happy Railroading back atcha....
That's looking great! Looking forward to seeing your progress!!
So if you lose this channel can you see anyone comment on the video 🙏🏻
Why not use thin-line permanent marking pens instead?
because then it comes out essentially all one color. and besides I like using a brush. Thanks for commenting, appreciate it.
Beautiful view. So calm and peaceful. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely gorgeous Mike! I wouldn't want to leave.
trust me, I AIN'T leaving.... no way, no how....
Gorgeous! I bet the early morning bird songs are wonderful, bet it's same at night.
yeah sure, you betcha.... and with the wind chimes.... Life IS goodly.....
Beautiful
great vid
Nice view
Looks so relaxing eh! Looks like a perfect setting for a pour of bourbon, and a good cigar 🤣
Bourbon ????? Oh HELL YESSSSSS !!!!! Cigar??? not really......
Beautiful scene. Have a wonderful rest of your day.(Steve)
That would make a great photo backdrop
Absolutely beautiful 😍
What can I say .... Autumn in Ohio .... Muskingum River five miles north of Lowel OH..... Livin' the life and lovin' it....
You on Mike?
Mike, are you online?
Hi
hellooooooo back atcha .....
Slowly but surely….backdrop painting looks nice…and you got a building up 😊….
Very slowly at times.... the backdrop painting is from the previous layout... I am a very frugal (cheap) model railroader.... but more will be done very shortly, am looking at Thursday to begin.
Mike you have a small piece of heaven on earth there. God bless my friend. Dave.
Thanks, Dave. Your comments mean a lot to me
Hi Mike 👋 Love the view...good progress...enjoyed 👍 DD
Thanks DD ...... The view IS relaxing when the "stress" of model railroading gets to me.... Take care, stay safe. Mike.
Amazing work Mike, looks to be the size of what I’m working with. Can’t wait to see what you come up with. I know small spaces sucks, but I’d rather have a small loop to see my trains run, then no space and basically having my trains sitting in boxes. Thanks for sharing!
Amen to what you said Kyle..... small is far better than nothing...
wow what a view i would be fishing lol your sure moving along with the new layout looking great mike
Oh yeah .... I do a LOT of fishing down there.... WHEN the dock is in.....
Great view Mike. you're making good progress.
Doin' my best with what I gots to offer ...... as always...... Thanks for commenting, appreciate it...
The backdrop looks great! You will have trains running in no time :D -Jenny
thanks Jenny ...... already got the concept in my senile ole brain ...... trains be da best hobby ....
@@railartist001 you are welcome 🤗
Coming along nicely Mike! It's obvious that you're having fun. Keep enjoying those trains and the river - I know I would be!
Livin' the life and lovin' it ....... Ya know, I am gonna go out to storage now and dig out my oil paints and pariphenalia (?sp?) that goes with it all.... thanks for the boost to get started.... You and Dundas Jct.
Hopefully you will do more videos on painting the background
Most definitely on my agenda to do ..... starting Thursday .... gotta take some more time deciding where the towns and tracks are gonna be.....
@@railartist001 I am planning to paint my background
@@dundasjunctionmodelr.r-jam8267 Outstanding !!!!!! Stay tuned for the lessons .... I studied art at the University of Minne-snow-ta while attending Nursing Skool elsewhere..... especially studied painting with oils....
Back drop looks fantastic
Thanks a million ..... appreciate it...
Glad it passed the rain test. Beautiful scenery to look at Mike.
Wait for a bit .... I saved some scenic styrofoam hills.......... gonna plant some "trees" and then placing them as indicated ..... JUST got started on it all.... please be patient.... Thanks Grandpa
Wow 😮 nice light 🕯️🚨 looking great and we will never be bored with any of your videos 😉
Very nice and progress. Have a great rest of your evening. Steve
Just doin' my best with what I gots to work with.... And YOU have a great evening as well !!!!!! Mike...
@@railartist001 that's all we can do with whatever it may be. Thank you very much also.
Hi
Hi back atcha.....
Looks like you're having a great time Mike - very cool! Really looking forward to you painting the backdrops.
Am having a great time with it all once again.... took a while to get my skrawny butt in gear. But once the walls and carpets and sinks were out, it was all downhill. Thanks for commenting, appreciate it....
Progress !!!!
Most assuredly .... and loving every minute of it !!!!! Thanks....
Congratulations RailArtist Mike. The only thing better than looking at the water is looking at the water while running trains. Best of luck.
sure cannot argue with you on that point. thanks. spent the last two or three daze re-doing the backdrops..... ALL with stuff that I salvaged from the layout in the city. Thus far I have spent a total of $3.59 on stuff for this new layout.
I take that back, also bought a new gallon of inexpenxive paint to cover my previous mistakes.....
Looks like a very quiet, peaceful place to live. Hope everything’s going good! ❤❤
It's goimg great ..... thanks .......
New here. Railfan myself. Beautiful place. Gonna have a nice train room with a hell of a view. With the highway being the only negative, I can understand why. That river view would have over ridden that highway. 😊
A model train layout with a view. 👍👍👍
and an outstading view beyond a doubt .... thanks Fred, appreciate it ....
Looks perfect. Except for the highway. Thank you for the update.
sometimes ya just gotta take the good with the bad ..... the loud ones are the motorcycles ..... and this IS a main highway for them ..... tight curves, hills and then some open roadway for a mile or so .....
Great updated on layour thanks lee
Thanks, Lee .... appreciate it....

@@railartist001 DITTO!!!!!
hello railartist !! great stuff as usual !!! just watched your square scrap load video and i hammered mine but the idea of using the offset pliers is so simple it's amazing !! i purchased the exact same foil ( from china, as it says on the box) and now, because of your technique with the pliers, i have completed all of my gon loads much quicker !!! being retired now, your method really saves me time while, like you, being therapeutic !!! ah, yes... prototypical scrap trains ( locals of course !!), a nice cold beer, and a pair of my bprr sw 1500's pullin' hard on 15 loaded scrap gons... NOW THAT IS THERAPEUTIC, MY FRIEND !!! of course, many blessings to you and, btw, i owe you an ice cold stella and a steaming plate of hot chicken wings !!! i am 35 miles directly south of buffalo in big dairy country, and we are the home of chicken wings....i just wish the best for you !!!
thank you SO very much for your comments and thoughts. Currently my layout is in limbo as the wife and I are moving to Da Cabin on Da River,,,, Will be doing more videos in the near future ..... once I get it all squared away .... not rushing into it, however.
@@railartist001 got it, ra !! btw, what river, and are there any walleye in it ??? i fish lake erie out of barcelona harbor in western ny state and, just like really good wings, there ain't nothin' like a plate of fresh walleye with all the trimmins' !!! have a safe and happy 4th... we look forward to your future pike... please send along any notes/plans/scratch pad engineering ideas you have for the new layout as it is always nice to see/read other modelers pre-plans !!! blessings to you, ra !!!
@@dennisarmes3473 The Muskingum River in SE Ohio, about 15 miles north of Marietta on State Route 60. Loverly small place that has been in my wife's family for over 60 years. Mainly pan fish, carp and catfish patrol the waterway, maybe a few bass here and there.
@@railartist001 ra... if my mind is correct, and after reading where you are in se ohio, i take it you are , what, about 75 miles or so south of pymatuning reservoir ? beautiful area i must say !!!
@@dennisarmes3473 not familiar with that reservoir..... will have to look it up .....
Great idea! I run o scale and I'm going to try it with one of my gondolas.
