😇👍🏽 GODS CREATION HALELUJAH 🙏❣️
Beautiful horse. GOD made The perfect horse. one better before nor after. All these comparing Secretariat to Man of War, Citation and others - don't understand. What's to compare? Which horse has the fastest time in all 3 Triple Crown races? and which horse won by the largest margin? and Secretariat was still increasing the lead! King of Horses!!!
I wonder just who is the greatest of all time, overall it’s just between 4 wonderful race horses never to be forgotten, and I’m talking about flat racing: Man’o’war, Secretariat, Frankel, Dancing brave, the times, the speed, the sheer power would have to go to the fantastic unbeatable FRANKEL, as a travelled race goer for a number of years, I thought I’d seen it all with the brilliant SECRETARIAT, but then along came the MAGNIFICENT GIANT FRANKEL, I witnessed something at the headquarters of flat racing Newmarket I will NEVER EVER FORGET, Frankel in the 2000, Guineas against a very strong field of group 1 winners was 15,lengths clear of the field at half way and cantered home, I thought this can’t be happening it did, he repeated the feat at Royal Ascot in the Queen Ann, by 11 lengths, and remained unbeaten in 14 races of pure class,
Incredible 😮
One of the thirteen crosses has been replaced with a Star of David to mark the spot where firefighter David R. Navon (who was Jewish) fell. See my video "A Star For David" for the details.
He will always be the King of horse racing 🥰🥰🥰🙏
While Big Red was certainly super cool and utterly GORGEOUS, the king of American racehorses is the legendary Seattle Slew IMO. Thank you for the beautiful video :)
Very nice tribute to some of the greatest thoroughbred race horses. And using that song by Phil Collins was fitting and a perfect song for this.
Neat lady RIP
I was at the Preakness in 73 . He was like a locomotive coming down the stretch. 😮
😭❤
Athlete of the century.
Congratulations Secretariat, and happy 50th anniversary of your Triple Crown today!
I always cry when I watch a documentary on the great Secretariet and have remind myself that he he no longer with us! It's like he was all our family's pet!
I agree
And THEN the BIG beautiful RED HORSE 🐴 came. Named SECRETARIAT won everyone's heart. Happy Anniversary BIG RED. ❤❤🎉🎉
1973 was a remarkable year in sports. Not only did Secretariat win the Triple Crown and set track and world records in all three races, but Nolan Ryan won 20 games for the first time in his career (21), while setting a single season record for most strikeouts (383), throwing two no-hitters, 26 complete games, and 4 shutouts. On September 27, Ryan went 11 innings vs. Minnesota and posted 16 K's to top Sandy Koufax's single season strikeout record.
Greatest racehorse 🐎 ever and maybe one of the greatest athletes ever! I still tear up every time I see The Belmont.
Big Red is an Icon forever
I get a lump in my throat whenever I get to see him run. Just let him run.
The greatest athlete in the history of history. All under a hand ride. And he was the handsomest too by 31 lengths.
I love that horse. I also have a soft spot for Sham, another great horse.
Shams a legend too. He may have lost the races but he won the hearts of men.
@@Psyfi85 And women. 😊😉 I love Sham.
Also he was the first animal ever that was on the cover of sports illustrated
I think that photo at 3:55 is the best picture of Secretariat I've ever seen.
th-cam.com/video/4cy0EoDeYyI/w-d-xo.html Vulnerable? Yes. Weak and powerless? Not on your life! Just turned 70, and strong willed women are my greatest inspiration still! Love and blessings!
The most beautiful and greatest horse that ever lived! Secretariat!
BRAVO MAGNIFICO GREAT HORSE OF ALL TIME SECRETARIAT
MAGNIFICENCE itself.
What a beautiful tribute to this gorgeous, tremendous machine. There is only one word to say when it comes to horse racing. Secretariat.
So tired of hearing about Big Red being the greatest ....maybe of his generation, but if you could compare him to horses of the past....well it would be a different story.......Round Table in the 1950;s.....just check out his record..........never carried less than 130 lbs .... won on all track surfaces , won the Hollywood gold cup ...carried 137lbs....raced 66 times... horse of the year twice....raced all over the US..........how many times did Big Red run....highest weight carried 129lbs..... how did he do on off tracks outside of Belmont Park and few other tracks, where did he do his best running....who did he beat.........were his opponents better than those of the 1950s;......RT held multiple track records and accomplished them at the fore mentioned weight........no way to state for sure, but if Rt and Big Red carried the same weight based on times with weight included....RT would crush Big Red..............However one must agree that it is almost impossible to compare athletics of different eras........just check out his record.
Greatest ever
There was another wonder horse, Phar lap 18 hands high, also had a heart over twice the size of a normal horse. Was winning everything.
Yeah the crazy thing about Secretariat was that he could run without other horses pushing him in the Belmont he just kept running faster and faster and nobody was pushing him there were no other horses even close to him God was pushing him
He was the King!
In the heirachy of Royalty, there are Princes and Princesses, there are Kings and Queens, but the pinnacle of Royalty is the title of Emperor. Surely the legendary and Immortal SECRETARIAT, whose records have never been equalled let alone beaten, so far..deserves to be considered as the "Emperor of The Equine World "...?
How lucky we all were to be able to watch his wins. The first televised triple crown winner. He is a star and always will be.
This brings back so many memories! Watching Riva Ridge the year before Secretariat ignited my passion for horse racing. That triple crown for Secretariat certainly was a marvel. The Kentucky Derby, as I recall it, was a very close race; the Preakness not so much; but then the Belmont .... just WOW. I can still hear the race announcer saying "he is running like a tremendous machine!"
I marvel at his beauty every time I see him.
Secretariat, the total package, personified.
Yes he was!!! There will never be another.
Thank you for the history, it makes Secretariat's awesome life even more of a victory! He will live on in our hearts as number one forever!
What a beautiful horse
When the Lord returns, he will be mounted on His glorious creation, Secretariat.
I just have one conclusion legends are born not made he was born to be great
Yes he was . My father was an Virginian. As children he took us to visit The Meadows Farms. We saw Secretariat as an foal. He was gorgeous even.
he still holds the record for the three TRIPLE CROWN races, as of Feb, 2022.
2023 and still holding ❤
Feb 2024…,
The sheer beauty of this horse is phenomenal!!
It's part wildabeast
Such a tragic but yet beautiful song. Great rendition.
Its was said that out in the pasture,,the other horses waited for secretariat to eat first,,they knew who was boss
I do miss you my Lady Long Rider friend. You will always be in my thoughts and in my heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
His eyes were so intelligent and he could almost talk through them. Sham was a magnificent horse but Big Red made the poor thing look so ordinary. God gave us Perfection in a horse.
Red wasn’t of this Earth, and frankly neither was Sham. Both had superior power and speed compared to any horses that year. Even the likes of Forego had trouble with those two, then again Forego didn’t blossom until the fall. Anyway, Sham is my favorite because he literally gave his all and it still wasn’t enough.
En lo que a mí concierne, bien dicho: el rey de los caballos!!! Secretaríat
