Really needs double the amount of figures. Higgins landing craft had 30+ infantry.
Thanks for your comment! So, the kit does come with the ability to complete 25 infantry figures, but there were several that I messed up really bad so I only I got about 19 completed and called it good. I think it filled up the boat nicely tho.....
Great build...well done Sir, well done indeed.
Much appreciated! Thanks!
Great, that's so cool, would like to build that.
Thank You!
I have bought this model kit, and it is really cool! Good job
Thank you! It is a fun kit!
Great video. Can you tell what music is playing
Thanks for your comment! The song is called "Canon in D major" by Kevin Macleod. If you click "More" in the video description it will show you the song.
Great video great kit im getting one of these
Thanks for your comment! yeah, really great kit. There are multiple camouflage paint schemes for this kit, but they were a bit beyond my skill level so I went with the mono-tone gray. 😁
Haven’t had time to build mine yet. Looks amazing with all those details. Nice build 💥👍💥
Thank you! This was my first Takom kit and it was very nice. Very enjoyable. The figures were from Model Cellar and one of my better efforts😁.
That’s a lot of figure painting for this build 😅 Nice one 💥👍💥
Thanks! Yes, there were. Almost overwhelming. I didn't even use all the figures from the kit, but the boat still seems pretty full.
Great looking model sir, would look awesome in a diorama !
Thanks for your comment! And that is a great idea. I need to clear out my stash self first, but definitely consider that!
LOOKS GREAT,REMINDS ME OF THE OLD LINDBURG 1/35 SCALE ONE I HAD BACK IN THE EARLY 60S.TAKE CARE
Thanks for your comment! Yeah, great kit from Italeri right down to providing the string for the cables and bumpers. I will admit though a kit with 28 figures is overwhelming. I didn't even use them all. Great for figure "practice" but I think I'll stick to kits with 3 or 4 from here on out.
SAVE THE UNBUILT ONES TO MAKE YOUR OWN ONE OF A KIND FIGURE..HAVE FUN@@ScotterzModelz
Great job what color was uniform painted in?
Gosh, I have to try to remember. I use Vallejo Model Air exclusively and if I remember correctly I used the Blue-grey for the top and the grey-blue for pants. Or vice-versa.
Thanks Mark 😊
Well done. 👍👍👍
Ah this brings back memories. I built this kit when I was in sixth grade. That was a long long time ago. Thanks for sharing! 👍
Thanks Mark! I was reluctant to post this because it's not very good. I am going to build another in the future since my modeling game has increased and I can do the kit justice.
@@ScotterzModelz Scott, I'm really glad you posted it for so many reasons, a lot having to do with my own modeling history over 6 plus decades. (Yikes!) I really appreciate your style, past and present and it's always a treat to see a presentation of your work. Model on!
@@markfrommontana 🙏👍
Loosk cool. 👍
Thank You!😎
(aka Jimmy P) I just subscribed. I really appreciate your style on these military kits. To my eye, very detailed, but not overly done like many seem to be doing these days. I'm getting back into the hobby after nearly 5 decades. Thank you for this video, and your very entertaining channel.
Thank you for your comment and sub and kind words! Like you, I think many modelers overdue the weathering and such. I don't like the idea of spending so much time on a tank and then covering the entire bottom in mud effects. To me less is more. There is a fine line with just right and too much. I try to stay "just right". I modeled as teen then got out of the hobby for 28 years until my sons were grown and then turned one of their rooms into a hobby room. Please post your stuff when you start building!
HAD IT WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT AND SAW THE MOVIE ON THE BIG SCREEN.THAT LITTLE BOAT WENT THROUGH MANY HOURS OF PLAY BEFORE SHE BECAME A M80 VICTIM..
I WILL build another one in the future now that I have better modeling skills. Also loved the movie!
HAVE FUN,THEY ALSO SELL EXTRA CREWMEMBERS ON LINE.@@ScotterzModelz
Great job on the m4a1 sherman
Thanks for the comment! Yeah, this is a great little Tamiya kit! Always like the deep wading trunk Shermans.
@@ScotterzModelz nice pacific sherman from a great kit
Other than the ailerons, nice build!
Thanks!
Nice model I like ww2 planes
Thank You! Me too!😁
Got to fly on one of these r4d's out of mcas iwakuni Japan to osan Korea for team spirit exercises in the early 80's
That is so cool! I hope I did it justice. I had to wing it with interior colors. I did a tour in a VR squadron, but we had the C-9B Skytrain II.
@@ScotterzModelz PRINT SHARE MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR, Calif. -- Marine Corps Air Station Miramar is home to a unique, legendary aircraft of Marine Corps transport operations. Retired after a long career of proud service in the skies over Korea, Japan and the Republic of the Philippines, the last Douglas R4D-8/C-117D "Skytrain" to fly a mission for the Marine Corps - serial number 50835 - now rests atop a small hill overlooking Mills Park at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. "The aircraft is essentially a reworked DC-3 that included a strengthened fuselage, new horizontal and vertical tail surfaces with square tips, squared wings tips, smoother engine nacelles with doors that completely enclosed the landing gear and two 1,495 horsepower Wright R-1820-80 Cyclone radial piston engines," according to Tom O'Hara, curator, Flying Leatherneck Aviation Foundation and Museum, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, who manages available information on the various retired aircraft at Miramar. "This aircraft was initially delivered as an R4D-6 on Dec. 28, 1944. It was sent to Santa Monica, Calif., and upgraded to the R4D-8 configuration and redelivered in 1952. It has served with (Fleet Logistic Support Squadron) 1, VR-3, VR-4, VR-13, (Headquarters and Maintenance Squadron 17), Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 1 and MCAS Iwakuni, Japan. It was retired in 1982 with a total of 23,316 hours." Taking off on a Sunday morning from MCAS Iwakuni, Japan, June 27, 1982, "835" flew what was the final C-117D mission following a flight to Cubi Point in the Republic of the Philippines, an event later recounted in the July 2, 1982 issue of MCAS Iwakuni's "Torii Teller." For the flight, then Col. S.F. Shea and Capt. L.L. Larson piloted the aircraft, with Aviation Storekeeper First Class Ron Mellon as the crew chief. When they landed, it marked the end of an era in Marine Corps aviation history. O'Hara explained how the C-117D, also known as the R4D-8/C, achieved its designation. "Prior to the adoption of the tri-service system in 1962, the Department of the Navy used its own aircraft designations that were completely different from the U.S. Army Air Corps and later U.S. Air Force that designated the aircraft the C-47 Dakota," said O'Hara. "The Navy system consisted of five parts: one or two letters to indicate the function of the aircraft, a sequence number to distinguish between aircraft of the same function built by the same manufacturer, a letter to indicate the manufacturer, an additional number after a dash to indicate a subtype and a final letter to indicate a minor variation on a subtype, thus R4D-8/C in the case of '835' here at Miramar." Pilots and aircrew of the R4D have considered the aircraft to be one of the most reliable and enjoyable to fly, according to Maj. Lee A. Cracknell, C-12 operations officer, Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, MCAS Iwakuni, who has been collecting data on the various C-117 crews stationed at Iwakuni. Very nice build. And great weathering. I just got one for myself for Christmas. Greetings from Las Vegas. And merry Christmas!
Thanks for your comment! I got this one last year for Christmas from my brother. Always wanted it as kid. Sometimes I feel like I "over weathered" it, but then I think they were out there on the move and they got beat-up pretty hard. Merry Christmas to you as well!!

That looks great! I've always wanted to build one since my grandfather would tell me stories about being a crewman on them in WW2.
That is so cool about your GF! It is really a great kit to put together. No issues that I recall. Thanks for your comment!
Excellent
Thank you!
WOW ... AMAZING !👍👍
Much appreciated. Thank You!!
I think you win the Gold Medal for Esoteric tank build of the year. Had to look this one up... both the tank and the model company. Amazing build btw! 👍👍
Thank you! Very interesting history on the tank. When I first saw it I had to find a kit and build it. This was my first "Amusing Hobby" kit. I had never heard of them either.
Perfect m22 is super cute
You made a lovely job of that, it’s a beautiful aircraft. I’ve been modelling for nearly a year now, and I’m improving slowly, but I’ve a long way to go until mine turn out like that.
Thanks for your comment! The Zero is a beautiful plan and Tamiya kits are such a joy to put together, the fit is always fantastic. I used to model as a kid, then gave it up when I started a family. After the kids grew up and moved out I started modeling again (converted one of their rooms to my workspace). For me, each model is still a learning template to get better or to try a new technique. Please post your work on your channel!
Nice one 👍✈️
Thanks!
Like the ditrty winshield look. Just finished building this one today. Exceptional bang for the buck Tamiya model.
Thanks for your comment! Yeah, this really is a great little kit and nice details. Can't beat Tamiya on the way they assemble.
GREAT VIDEO AND DIORAMA SIR,WELL DONE. TAKE CARE
Thank you!! I appreciate the comments.
Superb work my friend. Lovely to see
As always Steve, thanks for the kind words.🙏
GREAT BUILD AND VIDEO ,MY FIRST SHERMAN WAS A MONOGRAM LONG AGO. MODEL ON AS A FRIEND ALWAYS SAYS.GOD BLESS
Thanks! I plan on completing a diorama around this tank in the next couple weeks. Stay tuned....
Very good job!!
🙏Thanks!!

I have been building Tamiya kits since the early 70s and thier detailing is just amazing
So true. The Tamiya fit is unmatched and never any filler needed.
very nice build! Turned out great
Thank you!!!
Great build!
Thank you!
@@ScotterzModelz I just orderd the kit, I hope it's a fun build.
@@RobbertN It's a great little kit. First ever Bronco Models I've completed.
nice! How did mask the black anti-glare shield in front of the canopy? I was wondering how you got the straight lines to merge seamless with the curved part. thanks
Thanks for your comment! If I remember correctly, that black glare shield on the fuselage in front of the canopy is a decal from the decal sheet in the kit.
Oh, ok...thanks!@@ScotterzModelz
Stunning. Your Corsair is a gem! Talk about Kismet... my Corsair F4U (1942) from Tamiya just arrived in the mail today. Model on!
Thanks! I look forward to seeing your completed (old school) Corsair on here soon!
How did this compare to the Monogram version. Does anyone know?
I'm not 100% sure but it may be the same kit. I think Revell and Monogram partner on some of their kits .
Good looking jet
Thank you!
Stunning 10/10
Thank You!! Much appreciated.
How did u mask that pattern for the tri color camo
Thanks for your comment. After I I sprayed the pale blue, I used strips of 3m (blue) painters tape and an exacto blade to cut the shape I wanted.
@@ScotterzModelz Thanks . any way i could see a template of the patern or do u know where to find one
@@Jd-jb9fs Sorry, I just kind of made it up as I went along and then painted the dark blue once I liked the shape. I just peeled the tape and threw it away after I finished so I have no pattern to share.
@@ScotterzModelz no worries ill think of somethin
N keep up the good work
Exquisite details and a wonderful build 👍👍👍
Thank you Sir!
