    I have one of the Kyrios casting reels, its disappointing that the pinion gear is not supported by a ball bearing, you can see on the schematic. I don’t know about the other reels, but that feature is critical for long term smoothness.

      For sure, I know that struggle all too well. The shearwater just was affordable and had the rigability as well, just not as tanky as the native was. That native rigged up with everything is quite heavy and a lot to fool with. It’s an amazing kayak though.

      @@DaddyOFishing what made you choose to get the 12.5 instead of the 10.5. I am mainly wanting one that is very stable for standing and has a pedal drive/trolling motor ready. I think the 10.5 would be big enough for me but also not sure if I should just go with a cheaper one since I’m not sure how much I’ll use it. I have a pelican catch 100 now and it is not stable enough to stand in so I rarely use it.

    • @DaddyOFishing
      @DaddyOFishing 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly not too much at all. My main gripe is the rudder. It just sticks out and isn’t protected in any way. So if you go to slide it off the trailer and the bottom hits then the rudder hits first. Just makes it harder to maneuver it around by myself. Other grip is the micro power pole mounts. I would have much rather been able to mount it in the center 4 holes instead of the side but there wasn’t enough clearance for the pole to go up and down in the center spot. For the most part I’m blown away by it and couldn’t ask for a better rig to use. Stability is on point and my xi3 runs it about 4.5ish loaded down with me and all my gear which is impressive.

      I’ve never killed it before. I use a 12v 100ah power queen mini and a 50ah power queen for the electronics. Been really pleased with them for the money and my 100ah is only like 20 pounds I believe or around that

    Would you mind doing a close up video of how you hooked up the cable to deploy the XI3? That's a great idea.

      I can, next day I’m off I’ll grab one and post it up! Thanks, it works pretty well in my opinion

      Thanks brother, getting the sockets and all mounted up today. Really liking how it’s shaping up but I’m pretty particular with things and want it to be even and look good so I take forever to get things placed and plotted out.

    Great video, 100% agree on not drilling holes into the kayak. That was a miss for me from Native, the entire point of this kayak was to be power ready without needing to drill into the kayak itself. Two questions for you: Did you install a breaker somewhere and if so where? Are you planning to cut the xi3 power cable or wrap it up? I'm trying to find out if you can leave it full length and wrap it up and can't find an answer. Thanks!

      I do have a 60amp marine breaker I’m going to install. I thought of attaching it to the outside of the plastic box up front but not sure yet. That seems to be the only place to put it without drilling a hole somewhere. I’ll definitely try to reply to you when I get it put on and let you know where I put it. I’m going to likely cut the cable because I can just take the base apart and replace it if I ever need it to be longer again. You could fold it and zip tie it up, I don’t see how that would be an issue. I just didn’t want to have to fight with it so I’m going to cut it down. Thanks for the questions and comment, really enjoy engaging with people on things.

      @@DaddyOFishing thanks for taking the time to respond, will definitely keep watching your stuff on the titan x. The official native video has the breaker installed on the front box but a lot of people say it should be closer to the battery. Would certainly appreciate a follow up, thanks for the content!

      @@mikelafontaine8464 anytime brother, I am working on getting the power sockets installed tonight for things. I want to put it somewhere else but I think on that box is the most logical option. Not sure why having it closer to the battery. It monitors current on the wire. Current doesn’t fluctuate on what part of the wire it’s on to my knowledge. It’s all about electron flow through the conductor and it should flow the same at the box as it would at the battery.

      Heck yeah, really appreciate you checking it out. The longer bolts just made more sense to me for sure. The bow hatch area on this one really is quite impressive. It’s pretty well sized and the hull access and all the rig ability in there is top notch.

    Does your mini battery fit in the forward battery compartment?

    • @DaddyOFishing
      @DaddyOFishing ปีที่แล้ว

      The 100ah mini fits perfectly in the rear compartment but the front is designed for a 50ah or smaller it seems. I have a power queen 50ah in there now but it doesn’t sit completely in the bottom and touches the sides a small bit. I’m going to make something for it to sit on so it’s not touching the sidewall of that compartment. I made another video showing the xi3 motorguide install this afternoon but still have to edit it and all but it should be going up in the next day or two
