Kauai Mountain Tubing Adventure - Again!
Loved this beach 1971 CMS Jewel (Mac) McFarland My father rented a vacation experience I will never forget
Our favorite place to take people on the windward side. 😉
The Sand Bar is at the Contemporary resort, not at the Grand Floridian !!
Thanks- realized that after I posted the video.
I saw no evidence of boots being used and am currently engaged in a class action law suit.
😉
I remember the good old days when we didnt need those hats. One of my favorite spots, its where i found my dog
Back in the plantation days? I suppose the one benefit of commercialization is that allows more people a unique to Kauai experience. 😉
Is this suitable for my 8 month old?
I would think so. The train moves slowly and there are no sudden or jarring movements. Dress the baby warm for the top/summit.😉
Have you considered going to the real Disney land in paris? This new park looks good but the classic paris is still my favorite.
Aloha - Paris and Tokyo are on the list 😉
Thank you for your review.
Thanks for watching 😊
I work there! A1401 is a very nice room with a great view!
It sure is!
Great job on capturing the adventure
Mahalo!
Where in Haleiwa did you start?
Aloha - Haleiwa Beach Park in the dirt parking area near the large restroom area :)
Great memories
Gorgeous
Mahalo!
spock any 🐗
Not on the day I went 😉
Went to visit a friend who was staying there. The resort is beautiful the only drawback is it's not on the beach.
True but the nearest swimming beach is just a short walk away.
would you reccomend this outfit?
Definitely!

Is this hiking trail still open?
To my knowledge it still is. The entrance can be a bit tricky since it starts in a residential neighborhood next to a Heiau (ancient Hawaiian temple).
Hello like you video it’s pretty informative. I have 3 questions… was the Ali tower far from everything was is it the best tower of the 5 , and what about the activities (Luau) the fun stuff if you just take a day or 2 just for the resorts. Thanks
The Alii Tower is right next to the pool and beach and in our opinion better than the Rainbow Tower that we also stayed in. We can’t speak of the other towers. The Rainbow Tower’s elevators can get very crowded, so the ease of the elevators is also a benefit of Alii in addition to the more updated decor. If this is your first trip to Hawaii, a luau is a great idea. There are also dinner cruises, catamaran rides, and surf lessons in Waikiki. If you have the time to drive around the island to see the North Shore, it is beautiful there.
I work at the Hilton. Ali'i tower is the best tower, Rainbow tower is second best.
What about the Tapas Tower I thought it was updated as well ??
@@CF-lc7kp Tapa tower has been renovated. Now they are renovating Rainbow tower.
Oh ok thanks for the info, so between the 2 towers you think Ali Tower is better than Tapa? And how far away is the PCC ?
First time i saw the 2 bed option for Ali'i ocean front.. finally! We booked this type of room also... but hopefully were not that high up :)
Aloha - Hope you enjoy your stay!
We stayed in same hotel, wry nice, great location, pity no mention of Leonard Cohen.
Fabulous island. I was there last year too, in Sept 🇬🇷
We were there in early September :)
My son and i will be doing the 4 day trip in 3 weeks
Hopefully it will be the trip of a lifetime for you both!
Πανεμορφο νησι!!!!!
We think so too!
Awesome music in your video! Thanks for sharing.
Mahalo! Glad you enjoyed it.
Which bus tour company did you use for your tour around the island?
Aloha - We Booked "Naxos Highlights Full Day Tour" through Expedia and the cost was $33.00 USD per person. Hope you enjoy your tour!
I was station there in early 80s ..Camped out there almost every weekend with hundreds service guys
Aloha - My fist visit was also in the mid-80's. Still one of my all-time favorite beaches on Oahu.
Loved yiur video! Out of curiosity, which month did you visit in? I'm planming a Fall '24 trip from New York and hoping to avoid some of the high winds and get in some chill beach time. I have family that ive visited on Crete in the Fall but dont have much experience in the Cyclades.
Mahalo! We went in early September and spent a total of three weeks in the Cyclades. We loved Milos and visited Sarakiniko twice. While there we were told by a local guide that the winds were the highest he had seen all year! I suppose the trade off is that the weather is much cooler in September :) Crete and several of the other lesser known/visited islands are on our wish list in the future. Hope you have a wonderful trip!
We did this tour last August
Naxos had some of the best food we had in Greece!
Good friends in amazing place, Lovely.🌸🌼🌸
Thank You!
Having worked in HOLLYWOOD for some 40 plus years, I congratulate you on a well photographed presentation of a resort hotel my wife and I will be staying at in just 9 weeks time in May... Looks liker you used a GOPRO or other action camera, very stable hand-held shots that we had to take a lot of time laying down dolly track for our heavy Panavision cameras. Worked numerous times in the Hawaian islands on the original HAWAII FIVE-O, KING KONG 1976 etc., be nice to relax and really enjoy it in retirement. I know most people don't do too much research before they visit, but if there's one thing the movie business teaches you is that you never assume anything, so research is a must! Well done guys!
Wow! High praise from a man of your obvious talents and experience. We are humbled. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay and make many memories. I echo your sentiment - it IS nice to be retired :)
Believe me, HAWAII was really at it's very best in the 1970's and 80's.... for KAUAI the Coco Palms Resort on the eastern side was THE place for HOLLYWOOD crews to stay and film, SOUTH PACIFIC, DONOVAN'S REEF, BLUE HAWAII stayed there and Elvis' famous wedding barge scene filmed there too. In 1969, friends of mine were recreating the attack on Pearl Harbor on Oahu for TORA, TORA, TORA whilst GI's were flying in on R&R from Vietnam, crazy right! As your parents well know, us BABY BOOMERS by enlarge enjoyed the best quality of life ever... an a place like Kauai helps recharge the spirit like nowhere else. I just bought a GOPRO 11, and I'm not taking it underwater no matter what they say about it being waterproof, as salt water has destroyed many a camera and countless lenses, just like it did on JAWS and WATERWORLD... I'll just use other GOPRO-er's excellent footage. Thank you for the kind words and videos.... @@travelonourmindsin4k
Michener is one of my favorite authors for a myriad of reasons. Tales of The South Pacific and Hawaii are my two favorite novels that he wrote and I still read them occasionally to this day. I was stationed at Schofield Barracks (mid-late 80's) and walked the same quads that were used in the filming of Joyce's From Here to Eternity. Blue Hawaii and the original Hawaii Five-O are favorites due to the nostalgia of what Oahu once looked like. I've used my GoPro underwater many times (in places like French Polynesia, the Grand Canyon etc.) and as long as you rinse the camera and accessories off with fresh water everything should be fine. GoPro releases a new version every September but the 11 should suite your needs. The downside is that they are pretty bad in low-light scenarios. Wishing you much aloha on your upcoming trip :) @@grahamhill6340
Like the Internet, I-phones and GOPRO's, all developed by the Military and you're right about their ease of use underwater, but being kind of old now and my wife even older, I'm going to play it safe and just shoot her in the water on the surface and use POV shots of the SeaLife shot be expert deep sea divers... She used to be a model and I photograph very poorly, and you two look great. Going to shoot in 1080 Cinematic, as 4/5K uses up way too much data and takes forever to download I'm told. Although GOPRO has great editing software, I'm going to be editing via a desktop PC to a DVD recorder using multiple players, using the best music and not the usual GOPRO generic kind. You have some good memories too and thank you!@@travelonourmindsin4k
What time of year did you go? We are thinking of a September trip, which I know would be end of season, so hopefully a good time!
Aloha! We chose the first 3 weeks of September since the weather is cooler and the prices have started to drop. Santorini was the last island we visited since we went all out on accommodations there. Athens was by far the most crowded tourist-wise with Santorini coming in 2nd. Sunset in Oia gets pretty crazy so we avoided it. Hope you have a wonderful trip!
Excellent video, thanks for posting. Looking forward to our 14 day oar/paddle/dory trip 5/24.
Mahalo for your kind words. Enjoy your trip and be safe!
Brings back fond memories timing the swells shooting through short cave into surging toilet bowl i. 1970's
My 1st experience was in the late 80’s and I took the advice of a local friend before I tried it.
Old rich white people.. yayyyyy
Cute and funny animals 😊
Mahalo :)
was the water cold i plan to take my son 6 in January and don't want him to be miserable?
Aloha - the water is a bit cold but you get used to it fast. In addition, other than the guides, 1:41 no one was ever submersed in the water and we all stayed in our tubes . Hope this helps and have fun!
Amazing
ευχαριστώ!
im awful at trying to navigate rocks, but this is absolutely gorgeous! gonna watch from afar though LOL
It can be a bit tricky navigating down and the climb back up is a bit of a cardio check. However, it is beautiful and unique :)
I did this great experience love to do it again.
So would we :)
Monsoon bonus it doesn't get better than that!😀 Awesome video thank you for sharing!!
Mahalo! We thought it was unique enough to include. We were in the shadows for about 30 minutes after which was a bit cold 😉
Thank you for sharing this! #1 on my bucket list is whitewater rafting the Grand Canyon! I’m saving up to experience this!
It truly was an experience of a lifetime :) Hope it is the same for you. I only wish the video could capture the true scale of the canyon and the wonderment of it all!
Thank you for this! I was there in '88 with my mom. We had a picnic and she decided to go around the cliffside on that peninsula to get to the toilet bowl. She had the picnic basket and car keys and i was holding on to some kind of glass jar. Well, waves started hitting, ledge got narrower, and one of those knocked the glass jar out of my arms and i had a bloody gash on my thigh and my mom lost basket and keys to the ocean. When we finally made it around to the toilet bowl all i remember was crying , someone giving me a towel to wrap my thigh with and a guy with a blue and black striped speedo came up and asked my mom if she had lost her keys .. sure enough, it was her keys (car, apartment, everything)! I couldn't remember what it looked like. It's a core memory but only had small pieces of it in my memory because I was only THREE! This gave me a whole picture and realize my mother was crazy 😅 for taking me out like that! Whew! Thanks for this areal shot of the whole place!
Wow - that's quite a childhood memory! Mahalo for the kind words.
Just for the record, that was the Bridge of Sighs a short distance below Nautiloid Canyon.
Thanks!
Magical
Mahalo!
Lived on OAHU for 3 yrs. I always remember a quiet place to boogie board & have fun times,! Loved It MAHALO! I TOOK THE WRONG WIFE ;/

@@travelonourmindsin4k Dude it's like pinning the tail on the donkey 🐴 with me! It starts out all cool the I feel like I'm living near KILOWA! TAKE CARE YOU TWO & FAMILY ALOHA 🌺
Aloha & Mahalo, it was great seeing & talking you both . Thanks & miss OAHU 🌴 COCONUT 🥥! There is so much fun & things to do there!Have a great day & Mahalo for now. 🌺
Loved your video. I've done this trip twice, in1999 and 2003, with Hatch/Adventure Women. Pretty much the most fun a grown up can have, bar none. Looks like everyone had a great time.
Mahalo! I think this experience changes you in never-to-be-forgotten and wonderful way. Everyone we went with felt the same. Glad you were able to go twice 😊
We are excited for these videos!
Thanks! Going to try and release them by island and then an overall video :) So much footage to go through…
OH MY GOSH, I jumped into that toilet bowl several times many years ago, But was afraid it might take me out to sea and I would drown under water in moving water!! The Bay is nice...forgot if I snorkeled there because of name....
Aloha! Can't say I ever jumped in either - more like cautiously sat inside with a firm grip on the edge(s). Was a thrill the 1st few times - after that it was more fun to watch people and save myself from being knocked around.
Sharon's face when she's holding that pastry cracked me up. great little tour!
Plan to hit the Black Forest Farmers Market next. You guys should come out for a visit sometime :)
Hi
Aloha :)
