    After I applied the G68.2, the variable x_out, y_out, x_abs, y_abs, sometimes give me the un-correct value (plus or minus). Do you think there is something missing, or we should not use the x_out x_out, and replace them with formated x$ , y$

  • @GIANGTHETOOL
    @GIANGTHETOOL 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hi Colin, when I try turning off this post block "psof_tlchg_blck" and replace it with my own position codes, all X Y Z coordinates of the toolpath are disappeared. Do you know what caused that, any secret thing behind that post block?

    • @colingilchrist6468
      @colingilchrist6468 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are only specific blocks in the 5-Axis Post that are called by the PSB file. You can't replace them, unless you want to completely write your own math functions to calculate the output you need. If you are trying to support Dynamic 5-Axis codes, I recommend you just purchase a Post that supports these features. Or get really, really good, at Linear Algebra.

  • @GIANGTHETOOL
    @GIANGTHETOOL 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    About the using of tox$, toy$ and toz$ - when I try exporting them, it shows the coordinates of the WCS origin related to the tool plane origin (instead of the coordinates of the Tool plane origin relate to the WCS Origin). Looks not correct for a G68.2 format. Is there any other variables can do the "reversed" way Colin, which can tell me the coordinate of the Tool plane.

    • @colingilchrist6468
      @colingilchrist6468 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Try: tox4$, toy4$, and toz4$. If that won't give you what you need, you must do the Matrix Math calculations to derive the angles, using vector mapping and matrix math functions. That gets tricky and why good companies charge money for making the Dynamic functions like Tilted Work Plane function.

    Thank you for the great videos. I have a question, if I have to deal with a table/table machine with turning function on the C axis (like brother M300x3, Hermle MT series...), is it still able to configure this post for turning operation / or doing machine simulation without tricks. Or they need to be considered as a Mill/Turn machine?

    • @colingilchrist6468
      @colingilchrist6468 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Giang, to add any Turning capabilities, you need to have a 5-Axis Turning Post as the base. CNC Software doesn't release 5-Axis Turning Posts for public development. However, there are 3rd Party Developers who build 5-Axis Posts that support Turning. Postability and In-house Solutions are the two most prevalent. They can also add Machine Simulation to these Posts. They are authorized integrators of ModuleWorks.

    In many cases, XYZ Points, are treated "as a vector", to allow all kinds of operations to be performed on the data. In 5-Axis Posts, we make use of 9-variable lists (1D Array), for Matrix operations, and 3-variable lists for Vectors.

  • @colingilchrist6468
    @colingilchrist6468 ปีที่แล้ว

    This really depends on the Post. But Vector and Matrix Mathematics are both used in the Post. 'atan2' function especially. In 4-axis Posts, MP.DLL does this for you automatically, and updates the Raw Angle Variable 'c$'. In #2, this is exactly an example of using a Vector Function to copy values. xabs = vequ(x$) < copies x$, y$, and z$, into xabs, yabs, and zabs.

  • @pozalujstapodpishus3062

    1) This vectors mathematic use only for output angle to A,B,C axis? Coordinates x,y,z is not recount, and output from NCI? 2)Why in plin, prapid a line: xabs = vequ(x$)?

    can you show, what consist in files *.psb?

    • @colingilchrist6468
      @colingilchrist6468 ปีที่แล้ว

      All "*.psb" Files are Binary Encrypted Files, and are created using an encryption utility inside Mastercam, called "MPBIN.dll". This is a C-Hook (add-in program), and there is no way I am aware of to break this encryption. They use a strong cipher key, and likely use AES-256, or stronger for the actual file encryption algorithm. You do have the ability to "re-bin" or add additional encryption to sections of a PST File (that already has an associated PSB with it), but there is no way to break that encryption once you've added it, so it is important to keep backup copies of the "original PST/PSB file pair, before you 're-bin' the file". CNC Software will not decrypt or release a full "Master" Post, they keep that logic under lock-and-key.

    • @pozalujstapodpishus3062
      @pozalujstapodpishus3062 ปีที่แล้ว

      So if logical code, that you dont need or you want to change, contain in *.psb, then you cant do anything with this in pst file, so?

    • @colingilchrist6468
      @colingilchrist6468 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Generic Fanuc 5X Mill Post doesn't support "Dynamic Tool Length" functions out-of-the-box. To enter the Pivot Length, you must add the actual Pivot Length to the Tool Length, and enter this number in the "Overall Tool Length" data field, for each tool. (In the Tool Definition, in Mastercam.) Then you must set "use_tlength : 1" in the Post. (Or, set that to "2", and Mastercam will "Prompt" you for Tool Length, for each tool, during the Posting Process. Either way, you must physically measure each tool for a setup, "and enter this data somewhere". This also means "if a Tool Length changes", you must repost your NC Program. This Post is "old school", just the way it has always worked. Also, you must go through the entire set of "Post Variables", to be sure the Post is configured for Head/Table type of machine.

      For Tool Center Point Control in a Mastercam Post, you will need to purchase a Post Processor from an authorized Reseller or 3rd Party Post Developer. Contact "Postability" or "In-House Solutions" for help with a Post for your machine.

    Thank you for sharing these Colin. I did the eapprentace courses years ago but honestly I was not ready to deal with the information back then. Having this available now is amazing!

    Great job! I really appreciate the detailed information as there was some tidbits I picked up even after using MC since V5 .

      Hi, you'll have to request a copy through your local Mastercam Reseller.

    Hi Colin, thanks again for doing this. You have been the most helpful person in my quest to understand and learn Mastercam. As to the History you erase after you translate the solid into position to remove geometry bloat, can you still do that after you have made toolpaths if you forgot this step?

      You can do this anytime, however if you have Toolpaths associated with the solid, those chains will be broken, and you would have to rechain them.
