A complete look at the Seventh Doctor's original era from 1987-1989.
Honestly, I think this era starts off extremely bad, I'd even say it is the worst of all time, but his second Season is a massive improvement and his third is definitely one of the greatest of all time! The range of this era is definitely its biggest strength and biggest weakness. Even so, I'm sad we didn't get Season 27 as the stories sounded so good!

It’s interesting what you said about the Five Doctors being only for the fans, because as a 7 year old this was the first Doctor Who story I was aware of and the concepts intrigued me so much that I eventually became a huge fan.
Colin Baker's Doctor was let down by poor scripts, sometimes amateurish acting and the continuation of Peri and the American accent. I don't mind the outfit - it did and does seem otherworldly not in design but the fact it was 'chosen' by the Doctor and very outlandish. Colin Baker did better come to 'fit' the role as time went on. I don't doubt that had the series continued his portrayal of the Doctor would have improved, but such was not to be. I agree with the assessment made, very fair.

Honestly shocked to see Carnival of Monsters and Inferno so low but that's definitely the beauty of Doctor Who, everyone has their own favourites and least favourites :)
@@TheMediaCritics Inferno just felt like watching the same episode twice? And I still don’t know what’s up with the weird green werewolf monster things. Carnival of Monsters is the only episode that gave me pause at calling Space Pirates my least favorite classic episode. NOTHING outside the mini scope was even a little bit relevant. Everything outside the mini scope was just people standing around and talking. The “traveling circus” was just a dude with a TV. And inside the mini scope it was so cyclical with the memories constantly being erased. And the dreshigs were hyped up as this big threat but died if you sneezed in their general direction. It was painful.

@@TheMediaCritics I share your opinions about the Ice Warriors. They are my favorite alien race in Doctor Who. But man, Seeds of Death felt like what my friend and I refer to as a hot potato script, where they just kinda go back and forth between various destinations. Space Pirates is genuinely my least favorite classic who episode. My friend and I do a doctor who podcast and it was the only one so far that we genuinely considered just skipping. If the one after wasn’t a huge ten parter with two companion departures (so it would have been longer than normal), we probably would have just lumped it into that one.

I'm genuinely so sad we never got it, would have loved the Ice Warrior story, afterall the audio adaptation is one of my favourites from Big Finish
Personally I'd switch the scores of the two doctors (it drags a bit in episode 2, but if I couldn't tolerate that half of classic Who would be unwatchable) and attack of the cybermen (the cryon costumes!) - but otherwise largely in agreement.
That's fair, I just think the Two Doctors drags way too much, if it was a 2 parter I think I could love it
I never felt like it dragged quite that much as it is a two hander similar to modern two parters like the pandorica opens/ the Big Bang. Definitely the second hand dragged but I do so love the performances, I would never in a million years ask for less Troughton, especially with all the missing episodes. You’re not wrong, but I will always look on The Two Doctors as a gift. Especially as when I first saw it we had fewer Troughton stories to watch and no animated reconstructions.

I'm surprised there aren't more scripts involving the Dream Warriors, other than the Dream Police concept from the original script for Freddy's Dead. Using them as recurring antagonists just makes so much sense to me.
