Ranking EVERY Nightmare On Elm Street Film From Worst To Best!
A complete ranking and review of A Nightmare On Elm Street from 1984-2010!
Honestly, I love this series, it has a bunch of duds to complete failures, but overall I'd say it's a pretty consistent franchise that's held a very special place in my heart since childhood.
Don't get me wrong it's not perfect, especially the further along we get into the sequels, and even more especially when it comes to the remake, but each film has at least something that makes it stand out compared to the rest of the series.
I honestly loved making this video and happy 40th Anniversary to the original A Nightmare On Elm Street.

A complete ranking and review of VHS from 2012-2024! Honestly, I've fallen in love with the VHS franchise this past year and can't wait to see the franchise continue for hopefully another 30 years! That being said there's definitely some duds and trust me when I say Viral is a complete mess, most of the films will also have at least 1 story I don't care for and some I downright rate. Even so, I...

Honestly, I also love this show, I started watching it when Series 2 was being shown and quickly went back to watch it from the start and despite having some issues with series 1, I still enjoyed it but completely fell in love with series 2 onwards. The characters are honestly amazing and the much darker gritty style of Torchwood compar...

Honestly, Series 9 and 10 are classics to me, some of the best seasons in the whole 60-year run of the show, I adore Capaldi's 12th Doctor, from his first scene in Deep Breath all the way to Twice Upon A Time he just understood exactly what character he was. A complete ranking and review of the Eleventh Doctor's original era from 2010-2013. Honestly, despite the title I don't hate the Eleventh Doctors era, I love a lot of it but I highly disagree with how much love it has, it's a good era but not the best of all time and not even close to it if including the classic era too, there's a lot of mis-steps with season arcs, the lack of 2 parters and one...

A complete ranking and review of the Tenth Doctor's original era from 2005-2010. Voice is like nails on a chalkboard
Woop woop! First hate comment!
@@AnIdiotBox1963i think you might need to turn up the volume of your voice a tiny bit, the background music is too loud, at least for me.
The first time I watched V/H/S I had absolutely no idea what I was getting into (went in blind knowing only that it was found footage!) but a lot of my opinions on the series are similar to yours -- V/H/S 2 was absolutely a standout while Video/Viral were very much not. I haven't seen Beyond yet but it looks like I'll have to, now!
Same here, all I knew at the time was Ratmaa and that’s it haha, and oh you definitely should it’s a great watch!
Wait a minute.. There are 5 V/H/S movies? I've only seen the first 2. Guess your ranking will have to wait then, I don't want to see any spoilers..
7 movies now, plus 2 spin offs and a weird Snapchat thing haha
best doctor, 8th is just my everything
His audios are so good, I hope they get animated one day
I adore Torchwood, it came out as I was a teen, watched it and at the time wished that Dr Who was as "edgy". Kiss kiss bang bang and the Adam episode are my favoriets. Ianto Jones is best boy. The American season was strange but I loved seeing the woman from Six feet under (tv show) in it I am 100% gonna rewatch this show for a 5th time. Used to be one of 3 shows I had on my laptop, Buffy, Torchwood and The Tribe
Same here especially seasons 2/3 and god I need a new buddy rewatch at some point, maybe I’ll eventually cover that too
Allons y!
Allons e alonso
Nah. Not violent at all. I’m glad the level of violence was increased for Colin Baker’s S22 - one of my very favourites. I’m a longtime fan of the Hinchcliffe gothic horror era, so the violence is fine by me. The Raston Warrior Robot set piece from THE FIVE DOCTORS is a classic.
I also like how violent it went haha
Honestly, the only issue I had with Maria's depature was how The Lost Boy had a "Is Maria leaving?" plotline, with Alan wanting Maria to leave, and ultimately coming around, only for the next episode to take her away anyway, particularly if you are watching the series back on streaming and could either be watching them one day after the other, or even immediately one after the other. The thing Is I'm not sure there is a place to cut there; Alan not wanting to keep fighting aliens because it's dangerous makes sense and makes him a good dad, having him not come around and have them leave would be somewhat of a downer for the series finale to end on, though would match the main show, so perhaps you'd be right, with the best option, if they were to redo it, being to add another episode with Maria before she left.
Yeah that's a fair point
Geronimo!
Woop woop!
Awesome vid
Thank you :)
I wish they still make that sequel with Angela vs Angela! It’s not too late.
Elizabeth Sladen's Sarah Jane Smith is undoubtedly more popular than some Doctors. All tea, all shade. But it was a wise decision to leave the show as is. Hopefully the main show revisits the sarah jane adventures more directly.
I hope we get one with Ncuti meeting the old SJA cast or something
Fantastic!
Thank you :)
I just got around watching this crap show What The Hell Was It About
God knows but not the novel
Absolutely brilliant video. Wonderful
Thank you very much! :)
Best ever show CBBC put out.
Most likely always will be
We should of had like 25 jason movies by now
If only haha
We loved this show and have the DVDs.
Same here I got the box set of series 1-5, it’s an amazing show
Just wanted to say before watching the rest of the video that Gareth Robert’s was not the show runner. The show runner was Phil Ford, who is also credited as co-producer on the series.
Yeah, Garath Roberts was just a writer, though he did create the Trickster who was only ever referenced in Doctor Who through his pantheon of discord, most prominently in turn left and recently in the 14 specials and 15s finale
Ah sorry my mistake I’ll leave a note on the video
I think the first two episodes of series 5 is the only time SJA ever felt like a children's show to me, the vibe, the writing and the acting all reminded me of the Disney XD K9 spinoff
Yeah that season got very cheesy, and don't remind me haha, I'm covering it in 2 weeks
I wish Nigel Havers had appeared in the first two stories of series 3 too so the whole romance and wedding hadn't happened all in one story. Amazing story though but imagine how much harder it would've hit if we were more invested in them as a couple.
Oh definitely would have been cool to introduce him sooner but the cast performances help sell it in the single episode
Jon pertwee is the best doctor in classic Dr who in my own opinion and you can see why he is so good as the doctor because jon pertwee was making the his version of the doctor his own and all hail jon pertwee
Pertwees performance is so perfect throughout his whole run
No! I think the Gatwa version is the worst ever. At least Jodie was written a little bit more like the Doctor than Gatwa who’s breaking down crying nearly every episode and hitting on someone within minutes of meeting them! New Who never quite gets the characterisation of the Doctor right. I do like Jo Martin’s take on the fugitive Doctor. She’s stern and has a commanding screen presence. Her Tardis interior looks gorgeous and the police box design is very Classic. The Sea Devils look like the Classic ones which I like but the episode was rushed and they shouldn’t be flying around. I agree with most of your points.
Honestly I quite like Ncutis version a lot more than Jodie’s, she got better with her third and final series but overall she never felt very doctory :(
Did you actually watch the show
Yep, every episode including wilderness era
@@AnIdiotBox1963 wheres the Unearthly Child Pilot episode then
I didn’t include it in the video since it’s the same plot as the final version of part 1, just with some minor script changes, character portrayals and of course tech issues, didn’t really fit with the video as it’s 100% not canon (same reason I didn’t cover The Stranger parts 4-6 for the wilderness era)
By my calculations I would say that they did considering it's over an 8 hour video naming all the episodes each one mentioning plot points and characters plus no one really is bothered about the unearthly child pilot which almost cancelled the show before it even started
My hero.
Thank u haha
I want to pay you money.
Thanks hun that’s very kind of you, but currently just doing this for fun, maybe one day I’ll get monetisation and a patreon or something haha
Holy fucking shit that's commitment
Haha thanks, honestly I’m just sad there’s no more of the main show to cover anymore, but starting this month we got all the spin offs!
Maybe break this up into smaller bits.
Don’t worry there are videos covering each individual Doctor on my channel :)
In comparison to the latest Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and his stories Whittaker's Doctor suddenly looks great.
Awww I quite like Series 14 haha, my level of cheesy fun
There's The Airzone Solution too which while isn't directly Doctor Who it has 4 Doctors in it.
I did think about covering it and the last 3 stranger movies but apart from the actors involved it was sadly too different to the show for me to put it in, not a bad film though which I was surprised at
@@AnIdiotBox1963 yeah more of an eco political thriller. With a push more sci fi could have fitted into 3rd Doctor territory, but it was decent.
The 5th Doctor's era is underrated. Okay - some of the stories are of poor quality, and I think there's perhaps an overreliance on returning enemies(which seemed to effect a lot of the 1980s DW era), but there's many gems in there : Earthshock(Eric Saward's masterpiece), Mawdryn Undead, Enlightenment, Resurrection of the Daleks, The Caves of Androzani.
Completely agree, I’ll be honest I was dreading getting to the 80s era but ended up really enjoying it for the most part and Season 21 (minus the last story) has quickly become a new favourite of mine
The 13th doctor is the first doctor I've watched who at least for me doesn't have a definitive personality, every other doctor I've seen had a moment that established them and you got a sense of who they were, Jodie Whittakers doctor just seems to change personality depending on whatever is required for the episode
Yeah especially in series 11 and 12, I think during Flux and Villa Diodati the writers got what she is, but by that point her era was basically over :(
Perhaps the most experimental and creative era since the Eighth Doctor books. I love it.
Definitely, I hope series 15 gets even weirder tbh haha
To hear Jodie say "The system is not the problem" in "Kleblam!" is a betrayal of what the Doctor stands for.
100% that episode started so strongly but the last 15 mins just fell apart :( it was like they wanted a twist but didn’t know how to achieve it
I think Pertwee's is the most consistently good run of any Doctor. Even though Tom Baker and Pat Troughton are probably my favourite portrayals, the writing quality isn't as consistent as the Letts/ Dicks period.
I’ll agree with that to an extent, I think Season 9 (overall) sucks but Season 7 and 10 are some of my favourites
@@AnIdiotBox1963 9 is definitely the weak point, but still better than some 80s and modern seasons.
@@leecarroll4622 Oh definitely better than Season 24, and Series 11/12 haha
You talk about Dimensions In Time over Downtime clips and vice versa
Yeah sorry was an editing error I somehow missed
No, wings of fire is a book series that exists and its WAY DARKER in a please throw the doctor in to it to get rid of some of the dark shit levels of dark
Ooooh is it a doctor who book?
@@AnIdiotBox1963 no, it’s something weird published by scholastic that’s somehow marketed to 8 year olds instead of teenagers, like it gets in to topics like child abuse, but it’s not done in a normal way, it’s hard to exactly describe, an example is a kid that is roughly 6-7 (after I translated dragon years to human years) who suffer in a leash their whole life kills someone and it sent back to the parent, this is played straight.
@@robbycooper6787 Oh wow, that is dark haha
it was kinda torture to endure, I only found it because TH-cam recommended me the dub of the comic adaptation and apparently that weird abuse victim was eventually released via going to school with significantly less killing their teacher plot lines thankfully
Why do you talk about "dimensions in time" while showing "Downtime" -??????
Was an editing error I do apologise
@@AnIdiotBox1963 Dimensions in Time, will do that to one 🙃
Hey, do you want to join my Doctor Who discord server?
I don’t really use discord sadly but thanks for the offer 😊
I have not seen the peter cushing movies and have no interest in do so.
I’d say watch em once, just so then you can say you have haha, I’ve seen them each about 3 times and they’re not bad just kinda unnecessary haha
Rosa is such a bad episode, I think everything that can be said about why has been already but I'll just add that the episode should have been a pure historical, it did not need an alien villain in it whatsoever. The time period and setting alone with Ryan would be more than enough to bring tension and danger to the TARDIS team. I don't give 0/10s but if I did it would deserve it. The episode could have been really good which makes it hurt even more with the direction they took with it
Tbh I don’t despise it but yeah should have been a pure historical, the time racist thing is just so stupid. It’s a very serious and sensitive topic that ended up being funny instead which really should not happen
Pretty decent video going over the wilderness years, but Robert Holmes made the Sontarans not Terrance Dicks.
True but Dicks was the script editor at the time so did have a hand in their creation, and since Holmes had sadly passed away by the time Dicks would get the Sontarans more than most
Yes
😂😂😂
I've been watching these to determine which Classic stories I want to watch with my friend who is new to All of Doctor Who(has only seen 9 and 13 and 15's eras) and as for myself i've seen all of New Who but I haven't seen enough of the classic era. Friend seems to prefer the interpersonal drama/ character development than the actual scifi, which is a shame, but i showed him An Unearthly Child last week and he seemed keen on Ian and Barbara, and asked if they were going to get together, and I said Idk, i haven't seen enough of 1st Doc to tell you, but there's definitely fanfiction about it. So anyway, I might show him the Aztecs next, unless I can get a solid answer about whether or not The Daleks would be a good way to convince my friend to LOVE the scifi instead of just tolerate it.
The Daleks is honestly an amazing story but if you’re introducing someone to classic who (and especially 60s who) I’d honestly recommend the colourised cut down version on BBC iPlayer, makes it easier for a modern audience
Was Mickey not the first black companion?
Yeah but not full time, he popped in and out haha
Im sorry but no the 70's the Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker years were the true golden age of Who.
Definitely some amazing eras (most of the time)
I personally hate the Gunfighters too, I'm so glad I'm not alone. The wild West just doesn't appeal to me 🤣
Some western stuff is cool (A Town Called Mercy) but god the Gunfighters is so bad haha

@@SusanForeman1963 I’m making a post of it! Haha
He was one of the best, I remember hiding behind the sofa when I first saw a Dalek. Capaldi did the doctor justice....... lately it's like watching the 6th Doctor again... lazy writing
Tbh I’ve enjoyed 15 so far, I’d say 13 was more similar to 6, but I’d also yay that 6 is still more fun than some give credit for, he’s got some bangers haha. Still I adore Capaldi, hopefully he’ll come back one day
