Click on the cube and then hit g, from there you can move it You can hit zyx (as in the letters in your key) to move it along different axis You can also hit the right key to cancel moving it I’d recommend doing the donut tutorial, it’s great for getting the basic functions of blender down

Great video...just curious as when I select both faces and try to Bridge Edge Loops nothing happens? They stay highlighted but no middle bridge?

Add mesh, enter edit mode, press m and merge at center, add a screw modifier, trace along an edge of the glass, add subdivision surface modifier, and add solidify modifier to give it thickness. I can tell you are probably not very experienced (yet). Hope this helps you make objects like this quicker

make a curve, convert to mesh, spin modifier, solidify modifier, subdiv modifier. you're welcome

Fun fact, the hotkey for the subdivision surface modifier is ctrl+1.

Like, 20 years ago, when I used to model, I used to just draw the edge and use "lathe" tool. Not sure if that's still a thing, but it sure was easier than this.

When you press subdivide there’s the menu that pops up in the lower left, you can increase the number of cuts there

Thanks for taking the time and effort of making these videos and sharing Your knowledge. Though It might have been worth while to explain a little bit more about "copy" vs "linked copy", seeing as it to "solve this problem" it would have been enough to "make the material" to be "single user" ((Object>>Relation>>Make Single User >> Materiasl)). Because there might be people who have "linked copies" and ONLY want to change (unlink// make unique) the "material", in which case using this solution would have broken the "relations" that "syncronised" the "meshes" and "animations".
