the reason the bot teamates dont finish enemies is because glory kills are important for getting your shield back. Team mates stealing your glory kills from you not allowing you to get your shield back after a long fight on the higher difficulties can get you killed. Having said that the bots do and are more likely to do finishes if your far away or your shield is full

The way this family tried to remember their deceased ones and that the music box was still in use later, doesn't let me think that Barbara was killed and disappeared as many seem to think. Also Edie did memorize Barbara with a crutch (would you want to include something from a killer?). This lets me think that her boyfriend Rick did try to scare her, but scared Walter more, so Walter hid under the bed. Then Rick went hiding in the basement fridge and because Barbara didn't find him or maybe even stopping going further after seeing her Fathers blood, he suffocated there because he couldn't get out (that's why he disappeared). Barbara herself went up to Walter when he called but slipped on a roller-skate and fell on the handrail which broke (you can see the bad repairs) and she fell down on the glass table and died bleeding out. Walter heard the noises and Barbara's scream as she fell and thought of a monster killing her. Later Edie did remember Barbara's boyfriend by including the crutch into the picture (He's not part of the family). It could also be, that Walter felt unconsciously responsible for Barbara's death because he was to scared and nobody helped her as she lost to much blood.

The personal interpretation after reading a lot of psychoanalysis about Silent Hill 2 and also "Crime and Punishment" i've come to the following conclusion: BEWARE: SPOILERS!!! - Silent Hill is a place that calls deeply troubled ppl and manifests their own personal Hell and makes you face them - It is widely accepted that James learned about the History of Silent Hill (especially about Pyramid Head) while on Vacation with Mary. - Because of his guilt and grief he needs someone to punish him for his crimes - So his personal hell, ie Silent Hill, makes him watch how the Punisher (Pyramid Head) kills the idealised Version of his late wife, over and over again to punish him and accept what he did - Which is also why after the fight with the two Pyramid Heads they kill themself's, because they are no longer needed - James is a bad narrator. He says its been 3 Years but its only been 3 days since he killed her - Mary is in the back seat of the car - After killing her he was in a frantic state and something in his mind broke because of the grief and guilt from killing her. Because of the mental break he gives into his dellusions. - If you check in from time to time and try to read the letter you will see that the letter is gone at some point, which explains the dellusion part (getting a letter from his wife) - If you get called to Silent Hill, you will experience your own personal hell and no one else can see that. HOWEVER - In special cases you can pass over to other peoples Version (think the Eddy boss fight or the flaming/burning World of Angela) - Laura doesnt see the monsters or the horror, because she is innocent - Only James can see Maria, Maria is a figment of his imagination combined with his mental state and the fact that silent hill manifests different aspects of his psyche, driven by his guilt & wish for punishment - James was never to be seen as a Hero, he is a deeply flawed person with a lot of heavy sins and problems. And if such a person can be fogiven is up the player All in all Silent Hill 2 is one of my favorite stories. It mixes one of the greatest premises ever told (Crime and Punishment) with the question: - What would happen if a place can manifest your own demons and can you attain enlightenment and forgivness for it or not? Thats my 2 cents :).

Fun fact: if you use free cam and no clip to the back of the car, you can see mary's body on the back of the car since the start of the game. That also confirms that its not been three years, just barely three days, James came to just unalive himself but started to dissociative (that in fact, you can see the recent ring's mark on James finger) and thats how the game starts

In the opening at the start, you can see james shaking and holding his hand. He does the same after killing eddie, which shows that he just freshly killed mary.

If you haven't gathered, there isn't really indicator that James was unfaithful to Mary. We know that he lasted three years going through emotional torment watching his wife die slowly. Maria was a construct created by Silent Hill. She is an ideal version of Mary who isn't sick and is healthy.

So the Thousand Sons are bound to Tzneetch the Changer of Ways. God of change, and sorcery. To escape a curse causing them to mutate the Captain of the First Company Ahriman cast a Rubric (great work of ritual magic) and it sort of worked. The Psykers among the Sons, of which there were many, were cured of the fleshchange and their powers greatly magnified. But with the price the regular marines burned to ash and are soul bound to their armor, as barely thinking automatons under the direction of a sorcerer. The goat guys are Tzaangors, a xenos (not daemons) race that lived on the planet of Sorcerers before the Thousand Sons were given it to rule by Tzneetch. They all worship Tzneetch as their god led by their shamans. They are the builders of the altars you keep breaking and are used as cannon fodder by the Sons, being more useful than traitor guardsmen. Most traitor guardsmen follow Khorne or Chaos Undivided. If you noticed Tyranids and Chaos fighting they have a deep seated antipathy for each other. Tyranids can't be corrupted, they don't have souls to corrupts, sharing in one collective soul in the Hive mind. The Shadow in the Warp the Hive mind creates messes with Chaos as well disrupting warp abilities and daemons can't stay as long in the Materium. Conversely Chaos tained flesh is useless to the Tyranids and they are annoyed at the biomass lost to Nurgles plagues or in planets becoming daemon worlds partially in the warp. The Tyranids have a specialized extra fleet fed biomass from all other splinter fleets that exists to fight Chaos just to stop them gaining more ground.

So the reason Chairon is looking at the trooper with the backpack with the antenna and other attachments is that's the vox hailer pack, the guy they are talking to is wearing the helmet that goes with that pack, that's why his mouth is covered. Its supposed to be so he flick a switch and a noise cancellation device prevent his voice from traveling lets him make silent calls to their commander. The light is a directional for a camera. Now the helmet doesn't need the pack, it can be used to by multiple squad members to give video scans of an area. But the pack is just an extra heavy vox relay without that helmet to use its other functions. Its making Chairon suspicious. Rightly as these are traitors wearing Guardsman gear, not traitor guardsmen. The device sticking out the side of the pack is a 'vox hailer' pretty much a VERY loud megaphone.

Not that it matters now, but space marines are split into chapters based on the codex astartes, made by guiliman after the Horus heresy. He split the legions int chapters of 1,000 astartes each so if they turned it wouldn’t be as grand scale as entire legions turning to chaos and cause another Horus heresy scale war, basically the chapters are literal chapters of space marines in the codex

So on Event Horizon being a WH40k prequel. The idea is the Event Horizon used the same basic device that humanity uses to enter the warp. But in 2047 they can enter the warp but the Gellar Field that protects the ship and crew from the psychoreative nature of the warp won't be invented until the 18th millennium. Everything that happens after is completely explainable in 40k, having a warp daemon possess your ship rendering it 'alive' and malevolent. The idea the gate leads to hell. Most of the visuals and 'hellish' dialogue are pretty standard fair for a follower of Chaos Undivided, general chaos followers of the three. At this point Slaaneshi hasn't been born, that's waiting until M30. Thing is EVERYTHING eventually leads to Warhammer, because its a parody of everything.
