Gosaikunda Lake, also known as Gosainkunda or Gosaikund, is a sacred alpine lake located in the Langtang National Park of Nepal. Gosaikunda Lake is situated at an altitude of approximately 4,380 meters (14,370 feet) in the Langtang region of Nepal. It lies within the Rasuwa district, north of Kathmandu, near the border with Tibet.
Gosaikunda Lake holds deep religious significance for both Hindus and Buddhists. According to Hindu mythology, it is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva and his consort Goddess Parvati.
Along the trekking route, you'll have the chance to interact with the local communities, primarily the Tamang and Sherpa people. These communities have a unique cultural heritage, and their traditional lifestyle, architecture, and customs provide insight into the local way of life. You can visit monasteries, witness religious rituals, and experience the warm hospitality of the locals.
