Hello, You talk about the Greek works Petra/Petros. I believe it's important to note to viewers that Jesus spoke Aramaic, and the word in Aramaic is Kepha for Peter and Rock. There is no distinction in Aramaic in this verse, like you are suggesting. There is no distinction in this verse that says this word means stone or pebble and this word means bedrock or massive rock. So if you were to be there to hear the words of Jesus, he would have simply said, You are Kepha and upon this Kepha I will build my church.

We attended Goshen Baptist Church twice during the early 2000s and early 2010s...we were in the military stationed in the DC area. We love Goshen Church and still have many friends there...I am so happy to see that they have a Pastor that preaches God's Holy truth. You are in my prayers...we live in Kansas now and hope to visit again some day.
