Welcome to my channel IllinoisFA, also known as Illinois Fire Alarms! You can expect to see a variety of fire alarm related content, such as board system tests, individual tests, collection updates, unboxings/reviews, and possibly fire drills. Uploads can sometimes be very minimal due to personal life stuff, but I will try to upload as much as I possibly can! Manual Release | Board Test 7
After the usual long break, board tests have returned! Fully hopping on the new routine for board tests, now featuring the manual release function. Not only that, but also showing off some new features and even a slight expansion! To tie it all together, got some pretty unique and somewhat rare devices thrown in as well. Alright, now on to apologizing for procrastination. Oh yeah, I had the whole summer and Thanksgiving to get this video out, but when do I record it? On the last day of my winter break (editing took an extra week). Yeah, it took way too long like usual, but oh well at least its finally here.

Happy 2024! 2023 sure flew by and here we are again to celebrate the new year. This year's sound off definitely shouldn't disappoint, and it's at least better than last year's haha. Can you adjust the flash rate of the strobe? Also is it syncable
You have to open the strobe but there is a potentiometer to adjust the flash rate. Not sure on syncing, although I highly doubt it’s syncable.

I got an EH-24S too! It was 17 dollars but the strobe is missing. I managed to find a spare ADA strobe on ebay for 15 dollars. It looks kinda cursed lol.

Definitely not a good idea for panel designers to have the pre-release countdown alarm silenceable without actually pausing the countdown.
i think federation or federal signal rebranded this faraday thing too.

I really love your 4004r system. I didn't know you could install notification appliances on the releasing Appliance circuits. Does the releasing Appliance circuit also supervise the agent strobe the same way a NAC would supervise it using reverse polarity? Thanks!
I doubt NAs were meant to be used on RACs but it still outputs 24VDC so why not. The RACs on this panel very much so work the same as the NACs do, so yes, they’re supervised I believe.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, but the panel is basically in the factory default application mode. That is the “Agent Release, 1 Hazard, Cross-Zoned, Combined” application.
I have a question about this panel. Will newer 4098 series conventional smoke and heat detectors work on this system? Thanks!
As far as I’m aware the panel was made the run those specific detectors, so yes. Majority of other conventional smokes will work on it too.

Is the volume adjustable? I swear I've heard these much louder back in the old days.
Yes, you can adjust it with a hex bolt on the back. The horn is still ear piercingly loud at both at the loosest and tightest position.

@@Maranville Right in the middle of loose and tight since having it both too tight and too lose will silence it. The looser it is, the higher the pitch and the tighter the lower I believe. Haven’t messed with one in a while so I’m not 100% on that.

Around late 2000 I believe, they were replaced by the truealert horn version which is the -9252.

I have this exact alarm in a single classroom at my school but it doesn’t have a strobe, but there are ones with strobes in one of the buildings but idk if it’s on continuous
Theres a Walmart near me that is decommissioned and there's a very weathered MT outside it, I'ma see if I can get it and restore it.
