Those groups of young children of marching bands are walking down the streets that I wandered down with my Galway girl years ago and she agreed to become my wife, very lucky me, Galway city gives that very special feel of being at home even if you were born 10,00 miles away , Galway city is home to all who wander down its streets, That antiwar song so brilliantly sung at 5.10mns would bring tears of sandiness to most people’s eyes when we see on our TVs every hour of every day and night how our fellow brothers and sisters, from the youngest babies to the oldest people being brutally attacked, starved and slaughtered in wars and conflict across our world. I say deep shame on me that I cannot do more to help stop those wars from happening, why can't we all live with peace, joy and happiness like those people wandering around on the streets of Galway city

My father from West Lahern Used to sing the valley of Knockanure he was IRA All the way He was born in The 1890 I think He died when I was 8 He was a lovely. singer he went to England to work He was a Taylor so I think the Work outside in the Bad weather made him sick I never saw him with a heavy coat but I only saw him when he came home in the Summer It wfas a hard life when he lived to work in England He came home and never went back to England. Soon he died He had ulcer I think he wouldn’t let us be born in England we were born in Kerry
